This property has been in my family since 1900. It is still a working farm/ranch but we are looking to let a select few others enjoy our property. My grandfather built the lake with a d9 cat bulldozer in the 50's and we are just completing a sediment clean out and refurbishment of the lake. All of the trees were planted by my great grandfather and they afford lots of wildlife cover; wild turkeys, raccoons, skunks, squirrels, etc. The area we selected for camping is in a bowl so you have good privacy. The lake is stocked for fishing and because its private, no license is needed. The fishing hole and swimming hole are separate from the main lake and offer cheaper accommodations.
We limit ourselves to 2 campsites to the 100 acres, so there is plenty of privacy. There is some road noise and smell from the local dairy that is about 1/2 mile away if the wind is right.
Simple private camp spot - there is a swimming/fishing hole with dock and ladder. There is a year round creek and some small islands that can be explored. Fire pit, portapotty and propane grill are available. Potable water and sewage dump is available at main residence but not at camp site. This is designed to be a family friendly area that's great for younger kids. Area is also a pasture so cows and cow patties could be encountered and wild deer and turkey are around. If you have a larger family than 4 remember hipcamps policy is that younger children do not count towards the limit.

My family and I built up this peice of property in the summer of 2016, we purchased it as land only and have done everything you will find here today! My husband and I built the barn and all structures! The house was the last thing to get finished, we moved in March of 2020. We raise Cattle and Bernedoodle dogs. And also enjoy training horses and competing with the Mustang Heritage Foundation. If you walk around you will see many American Mustangs! We hope you enjoy the fantastic views and the peaceful surroundings as we do!!

Such a beautiful, quiet property. An even more beautiful sheepwagon! Such a cool idea.
Shannon has made it so extremely comforting inside, and I was so warm with the heater and all of the cozy bedding. Such sweet animals - including a cat to keep me company each time I used the bathroom in the barn haha.
Thank you so much for opening up your space, coming from Pennsylvania, this was a great visual opportunity for me to gain inspiration in the life I feel called to.

The property was extremely beautiful and Shannon was very kind, friendly and accommodating. The wagon was charming and the decor was very inviting. There was even a friendly farm cat that came and said hello to us! The trip felt magical overall. Wonderful hosts, wonderful scenery, and very welcoming.

As the same with last time we went, the owners were incredibly kind and generous! It was my my brother's girlfriend's first time and they stayed at the camper they have on property. Brian went and set up the camper the morning before and it worked very well! And the fishing was great! Also, if you buy the farm fresh veggies, they give you plenty for you and your party! Very tasty veggies too! Highly recommend their campground!

Weekend Trip to wentz family farm
This was our 4th stay at Wentz’s Family Farm. We brought all of the children and their partners. We booked out all of the sites for the weekend and as all of our other stays it was fantastic. Brian and Melody are wonderful hosts. They have a ton of stuff for the kids to do around all of the campsites. I always have the best sleep at the farm. Thanks again for a fantastic stay!

Me and my family loved the boats it was our first time (along with our dog) being on one, and it was awesome. Kayaking became one of our new favorite hobbies. We got to see some cows passing by on the opposite side of the gate, we could basically pet them how close them were. The RV was cozy, and the grill was utilized multiple times. The area was very peaceful, and not to mention Brian and Melody were very hospitable, kind people, and had great communication. We loved our stay here, and we will be back!

What a beautiful area of the country. It was a lot of fun to spend a little time here with my dog who loves cows, and got to hang out with the chickens and horses at the ranch. Shannon was super friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely time and wow, the sunset was amazing!

Another wonderful weekend at Wentz’s Family Farm. We stayed in the RV at the fishing hole. We’ve previously camped at both the fishing hole and the lake. The farm is a beautiful place to spend time either fishing and boating in the lakes or just relaxing by a camp fire, this place will definitely help you relax. This last visit we decided to stay in the RV. The nights are a bit chilly and the RV is heated. It’s a cute and comfortable RV with a little kitchen. We enjoyed the stay and look forward to a few more outings at the farm throughout the summer.

Weekend Trip to Silent "P" Ranch
Last minute getaway from Denver. I was able to book the day off and everything went smoothly.
About an hour drive from Denver. Very cute wagon with lots of animals on the property! Enjoyed my day!

Camped here at two different locations on the Grasslands. It is very scenic and beautiful but Oil truckers and wind turbines are everywhere. It is very primitive you must bring your own water. Great place to bird and see wildlife.
