They homestead this area before there were roads, and could only travel to this location via the beach and climbing the bluff.My mothers family also Homestead on the Kenai, in Ninilchik, she was born and grew up there in the small river village. When her and my dad married they continued the Jones family tradition of ranching and farming. We decided to offer our family land and share its beauty with others. Your camping spaces are on a corner of the ranch property, near the shared gazebo fire pit. We hope you love it as much as we do!

The Pad is situated on an alpine meadow with various spring wildflowers. (Please be kind to the wildflower meadows). Eveline State park is across the road and is a beautiful trail for hiking, skiing, and snow shoeing. Homer is 12 miles down the hill and has quaint shops and eateries in town and on the Homer Spit. There are boat taxis available in town for hiking across the bay. In addition, Homer is the "Halibut Capital of the World" and several different kinds of charters are available (Including spearfish diving).

Seaside Farm is a 30 acre, magical, park like farm on the shores of Kachemak Bay, just outside of Homer, a few miles down from the Kilcher Homestead where I grew up in the 1940's! . Now a song bird sanctuary, with trails, lawns, gardens, trees, hay fields, and a private beach, cabins, a clover camping meadow, Seaside was once part of an original Alaska pioneer homestead.
It is also the home of hundreds of songbirds, moose, coyotes, wild hares, flocks of sandhill cranes, two sweet Morgan Horses, an assortment of chickens and visitors seeking peace, nature, wildlife, pristine beaches, in a real Alaska, non touristy setting.
This property has three different types accommodations: Rustic, cozy cabins, a big field for tent campers, and a few spaces reserved for 4 wheel drive vans, and small vehicle camping, including rooftop tents
If you prefer camping away from the tourist crowds, you will find our soft clover meadows and well kept lawns, a deluxe and memorable experience. The beach is a short walk down the trail, where its peaceful and private, with only the sound of the seagulls and waves. Van campers have a few special areas to park their vehicles, with views of the glaciers and mountains. There is limited parking and turnaround space, and we like our farm not too crowded, to provide a special rural experience to all who visit. It helps to call or text before you arrive to make sure we are on site and can help you with parking!
There are three cabins sprinkled throughout the property. Two are off grid, close to the beach, private and magical, with wood stoves. All cabins are able to use the main farm lodge amenities, just a few minutes walk away but have their own outhouses, all with amazing views!
You can walk on the beach from the main lodge parking area, there is a covered camping pavilion available to all guests, a communal campfire spot and bbq grill, lovely maintained walking trails and meadows, and even wifi!
We allow most dogs, but ask you to contact us before booking with us, so we can let you know our rules before you travel. All dogs must be well behaved, social, on leashes and at owner's side at all times to protect our trusting wildlife from accidental harm, like our baby pheasants, moose, bunnies, and songbird nests!

We camper-vanned (there are cabins too as well as places for tent-camping). Fantastic everything. Incredible views. Peaceful. Bird Sanctuary. Sandhill Cranes flying over in the evening against the backdrop of the Bay and mountain range. Hostess is super friendly. Would stay there every time we ever find ourselves in Homer. Just 5 miles to town if we needed anything but far away from the tourist stuff. Six stars. :)

What a lovely property! We got lucky and got there on a day with nice weather. The grounds are nicely maintained with access to the beach. The camping meadow also has a beautiful view of Katchemak bay. They also have a community kitchen which offers stove, table, and sink with drinking water. We stayed with our camper van & parked next to the community pavilion, though not as picturesque it was level & the property was quiet at night. We recommend the property to tent campers who loves rustic/minimalist vibes & beautiful views as well as campers with 4x4 since they can park further into the farm.

I have a rooftop iKamper 3.0 & loved being secluded next to Eveline State Park! Theres no bathroom but the vault toilet was a 4 min stroll. Could probably get there in 2-3min if you were walking briskly. No different from being at a campground with 1 toilet. The privacy & seclusion are worth it! By late July alllllll the fireweed will be blossoming around the site!

This was a beautiful farm stay which completely exceeded my expectations. I stayed with my two pups in my van camper across from the horses and barn. The views and walk to the private beach were the best. I’d happily return to this spot in the future. I know other people were staying on the property in various cabins and camp spots but we hardly saw anyone while we were there (minus our host - mossy meeting us on arrival). A total local gem on a well kept property.

This site was everything we hoped for and more. Peaceful, clean, and surrounded by nature—exactly what you want when you’re trying to unplug and recharge. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, and the site itself was well-maintained and easy to access. Waking up to birdsong and sipping coffee with a view was the highlight of our trip. We’ll definitely be back—highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing outdoor escape!

This was a beautiful and unique place. Quiet with well maintained paths and beautiful views. Hosts were friendly and gave excellent tips about the local area and places to hike. Highly recommend this place if you like waking up to bird song and the smell of plants!!

Harding ice field hike was truly epic. Very difficult for someone in their 60s, but it can be done. We still talk about katabatic winds on that ice field.

Kenai Fjords boat tour is a must
We took the Major Marine Northwestern Fjord tour out of Seward. The glacier views and wildlife encounters were amazing. If you do one thing in Alaska this has to be it.

Free first come, first served campground along Herman Leirer Road (road to Exit Glacier trailhead) with only a handful of sites. Campsites are all walk-in and strictly for tent campers. No trailers, vans, RVs, or rooftop tents allowed overnight in the parking lot area. I camped here 1-night in July 2022 and only half the sites were occupied.
