Moonstone Farm is a perennial polyculture (no annual crops, lots of diversity) on the bluffland of the Upper Minnesota River Valley. A family-based farm specializing in grass-fed organic beef production, we also maintain a vineyard, an edible forest, occasional farmstore, farmstay guest cottage and a full-shade camping area, the Auntie's Grove within walking distance of our pond, little beach, water points and restrooms.

Broodio Farmstay at Moonstone Farm

100% (4)
Cabin · Sleeps 2 · 1 bedroom · 1 toilet
Audrey and Richard welcome you to The Broodio, a one-room cottage that is part of our Minnesota Valley century farmstead. The simple pleasures of the prairie surround Moonstone's gardens, arbors and vineyard. The Broodio, a former "brooder" house and studio, is bathed in warm tones featuring original artwork, solar technology, traditional and handmade furniture, and fresh flowers in season. Go to bed under our vast blanket of prairie stars and awaken to songbirds, the occasional lowing of cattle and a continental breakfast delivered to your door. Help yourself to organic, fair trade coffee or other beverages at your leisure. Depending on the season of your visit, you can take a morning walk by the budding flowerbeds, ripening fruits, frosty pastures by the pond or ski on our trails or those at nearby Lac qui Parle State Park. Our canoe, grill, campfire, and beach are available to guests. Perhaps you can add to our farm bird list which identifies species we have sighted here within the last 47 years. Bathing facilities are limited to the solar shower in covid time. There is an indoor chemical toilet and a charming outdoor privy down the garden path.
