Serene Blueberry Grove
Blueberries and Frogs
It's like sleeping in a magical bull frog Forrest. Quick walk to a reservoir with a pretty tree walk around. Good fire wood available for fires. Emergency water for fire. No potable water source but close to town to buy bottle in a pinch. Bathroom available in camper on site which was a nice surprise. Didn't get to kyak on the pond but was looking beautiful. Matt and Jamie were as awesome as the property! Only down side was a huge amount of ticks that made me nervous. But it is a hugely high tick year and all said the bugs weren't that bad. And that's not even really in their control that much. But definitely worth it to be able to sleep so close to the pond. It feels like you have assimilated into The Wilds

Lovey hosts, special property
Lovely hosts who were so generous, even made us a bonfire near the pond where we were delighted to listen to an amazing chorus of frogs! A real gem.

Dreamy Log Cabin Studio
Comfy cabin + close to adventure
TLDR; Bring: bug spray and a sense of adventure! Jamie's cabin offers many amenities-- something for beach-goers, bikers, and blueberry eaters alike. Great for couples- clean and comfortable.
Jamie's place was the perfect combo of cabin comfort and beautiful proximity to nature! The address is super easy to find, and although it's right off the highway (roughly 1 hour from Boston), we didn't hear anything but the sound of chickens, frogs and the wilderness. The cabin is right next to their driveway by the main house, but it still felt private and safe. There are stairs up to the cabin, which sits atop a storage garage. Everything was clean and tidy, and Jamie even included a welcome packet with recommendations on nearby amenities. The room was also set up with snacks, tea, k-cup coffee, an electric kettle and coffee maker. Heat works well, although wifi is spotty (Jamie notes this, and that there is better wifi closer to the house, so it was not a problem for us). I appreciated having electricity and plenty of outlets, and a half bath (and plans for an outdoor shower!). The bed and pillows are comfortable. Outside, there are 2 grills (with charcoal), a woodstove (with dry wood), and we were offered a 2 burner camper stove (with propane) to cook on. We brought our own cookware and food, but were offered fresh farm eggs and cast irons! I absolutely loved the extra touches, and I could tell Jamie and her husband Matthew love to host :) They were both very communicative and generous but never overbearing, and they respected our time and privacy.
Amazing mountain biking trails are nearby. Newburyport is about 10-15 minute drive away, where there are many restaurants and shops-- even a few vegan options (highly rec Lin's Little Kitchen). Matthew also set up an AWESOME firepit one evening out by the pond, and mosquito torches helped with the bugs. We also got to enjoy morning coffee in their DIY lean-to by the pond. The nearby beaches make this spot a great spot in between forest and coast. Something for everyone!
We weren't able to take advantage of the kayaking trips or blueberry picking due to weather/season but those are some things we'll have to do when we come back! Thank you for a lovely weekend!!
