The camping property is about .25 acres. It’s right on the river. The is a decline slope down to the river that can not be access with a boat trailer. This is for kayaks and smaller vessels only. The river is a perfect for swimming and coming off right next to your campsite! There is a public access about 5 miles up that can be used for a pick up point to float the river. The lot is beautiful with many opportunities for wildlife. There is the Capon Springs resort 10 minutes away with lots of options for hiking, massage and swimming. Wardensville is also about 10 minutes away, for your grocery needs. The site is 100% primitive. All toileting, trash, camping and personal items must be brought and taken with you when you leave. Pop up campers and tents are the best but RVs can be parked with prior approval. We hope you enjoy the river!

    I had a lovely time at this campsite! though it sits right off the road, it’s still private and offers an awesome river access point. It’s just what I needed to reset and enjoy a warm 4th of July weekend 🏕️

    We had a nice stay at this campsite. It’s big enough for multiple tents or a couple small campers possibly. Right on the bank of the river and a beautiful Mountain View in the background. It’s not deep in the woods and there is a road the runs right next to the lot so no fear of getting lost.

    Relaxing, clean, quiet! River was great! Everything was cleans and grass mowed. Will be back soon!

    We enjoyed this spot with our dog so much! Shallow but deep enough to cool off on the hottest day of the year so far. Plenty of shade, mowed nicely, couldn’t ask for anything more! Will be back very soon!

    Beautiful countryside and the site is along a beautiful river, but unfortunately it is also directly along a country road with cars at all times of night. Along with being on a road, it is also in front, and next to, several houses so privacy should not be expected. The house directly in front of the site also has lights that will bathe your campsite in flood lighting. Jodi was extremely accommodating, nice, and communicative so it pains me to write this, but this is not really a safe/reasonable campsite and should be reevaluated by Hipcamp as an offering.

    We had an amazing time camping here. The water level was perfect for the kids. The site was very nice. Jodi was very welcoming, we will definitely be returning!

    I loved staying at Hoover's campsite! It was great! Pretty quiet and secluded! Nice shallow River my kids were able to wade through it. Would recommend!
