Great spot and gorgeous view! Large enough for several cars and tents. The driveway is super steep so you have to get some momentum but my Camry did just fine.

This spot was beautiful! Great location close to lots of trails. My only complaints are that there was a bit of road noise and it was a little difficult to find the driveway. The driveway was a little steep and bumpy, but I got up and down with no problems in my RAV4. The campsite felt very secluded and was clean.

Our group truly enjoyed this spot! A true rare find! We had a private experience where our dogs were able to safely roam in the woods, without the fear of a busy road. This spot comes with scenic views and multiple flat areas to set up came and park multiple cars. Couldn’t be any happier with this experience !

My fiancé , my dog , and I went to old rag and it was about a 3 hour trip from our home town it was a beautiful view and very quiet it was a rainy weekend but we made the best of it. We would definitely come back!

Loved the camping, but it is primitive (no bathroom, no water). Big site, tons of places to pitch a tent. Road to get up to camp is quite difficult, would recommend 4WD car.

I loved camping on Katie's land. Her directions to the site were helpful. The spot is up a steep hill, but we made it just fine in a 2W Tacoma. Probably wouldn't have been so easy if it was muddy. Would definitely recommend to someone looking for a secluded spot, very removed and peaceful. So much space to walk around, gather sticks, and enjoy the view. Thanks Katie!

We enjoyed our stay on the hilltop near old rag mountain! We chose to set up camp down the hill a bit where we could catch a glimpse of the horizon. We woke to the sounds of nature and the cows across the valley. Even heard coyotes during the night. It’s private after you get past the neighbors house. Steep bumpy hill but no problem with a 4x4. Far better than any crowded public campground!

Me and my friends all loved our stay here. The spot is awesome and really secluded from any other campers but also close enough to roads where it doesn’t feel sketchy. They have a fire pit, few makeshift benches and a nice clearing to hang out in. Overall, we had an awesome time and highly recommend.

I loved the property. Road is better suited for cars w/higher ground clearance, it is bumpy in some places, but otherwise easily traversable, just a little steep in some places. The campsite is lovely and rustic, the firepit with its natural benches was awesome! plenty of space around the fire pit for tents, and the path down to the mountain viewing place was good as well! all around a very great experience and would recommend!

I had a great time camping here with my son. We spent two nights and enjoyed the privacy and views. The spot is on a hill, but there are lot of options for placing tents. The location was easy to find and near a brewery, but we didn't get a chance to visit. Would recommend.

This campsite is unbelievable - after a long day of hiking in the Shenandoah national Park I ended my day stopping by a few local stands and arriving to the campsite for the night. 100% recommend to anybody who wants a very nice, clean, and open campsite for the weekend. Very secluded but not too far away to get to the main road along with beautiful views.

Great spot for a weekend away. Even with homes and road nearby, we still felt pretty isolated. Plenty of firewood on hand and lots sticks and fallen limbs to gather. Perfect spots for both tents and hammocks. Coordination with Katie to find the campsite’s access was easy. She was also very prompt with responses to any questions I had leading up to my stay.

This is a great spot. I'd like to rent it again in the future. Private, but plenty of places to go to resupply if needed. We dealt with rain for just about 24 hours straight up there, but the place has good run off and it was dry again quickly. Katie and her husband were very gracious and I appreciated there help leading up to the camping date.

Overall, I had a great time at the campsite. Plenty of firewood and felt secluded. Grills and firepit are provided a well. The tree canopy is open to the sky so you can clearly see stars at night. Host was also communicative. The road to the site is a step incline that would be difficult for non-AWD under wet conditions.
Suggestions would be to clean up the road to the site of branches and brushes because they hang into the road and will scratch your car. Also a signage marking the road from the main road would be helpful. I passed it twice because as the seasons change, the path looks different than the provided pictures. I also did not have cell service on the main road.
If the branches and brushes were cleaned up as to not scratch my car, I would definitely go back.

We loved tent camping on Katie’s property! Perfectly secluded and serene. Katie was easy to get ahold of when needed. The spot is so close to Old Rag and it’s worth the hike!! Would recommend and come again!

Fantastic spot and really close to a lot of great hiking. We had privacy and it was super quiet; only a small amount of road noise, no fireworks or other noise. Easy to get to too, not very far off the main road and yet still felt like we had plenty of space, so we didn't worry about the dogs running off. Had a really great time!

We loved tent camping at Sarah’s. The spot is secluded but super convenient and the views are amazing. Would highly recommend for any families looking for a great getaway.

I had intended to stay at this campsite but ended up changing my plans. From what I saw during my brief visit, the campsite appeared to be well-maintained with and spacious sites. However, I cannot provide a full review since I did not end up staying there. Nonetheless, based on my initial impression, this campsite may be worth considering for those looking for a comfortable and tidy camping experience. Thank you Katie for the great communication.

Had an awesome time camping here after hiking Old Rag. I initially planned to camp in Shenandoah Park but the campgrounds were full. I was happy to find Katie's camping spot on Hipcamp and even happier once I got there. Much quieter and more private than camping in the park. Katie texted me a Google maps pin and photos, so I had no trouble finding the site (about 10-15 minutes from the Old Rag paeking lot). Spent a beautiful, quiet evening relaxing after my hike. I'll definitely camp here again next time I hike Old Rag.
