We loved camping at Nate & Tara’s farm. Easy to find and relatively private. Tara met us when we drove in, gave us a few options to where to set up our tent, and encouraged us to walk around and meet the animals. (We had no idea that turkeys slept in trees and were fascinated watching them all get up there). We really enjoyed our stay and would love to stay again if we are ever in the area.

Small farm, a little closer to the highway than I expected, but was not an issue. Turkeys, chickens, and goats around. A nice option about 45 minutes from Ogden, if you just need to get away. Port-a-John if you need it, and was clean.

Tara and Nate were very nice. Nate went out of our way to make our stay memorable by letting us feed the chickens and turkeys and goats! My kids both ages 14 & 8 had a great time. My favorite was the goats they were so cute! It was a very nice grassy and shady spot and my son loved just playing outside. The Porta potty was clean and didn't smell bad like most portable potties do. Everyone we ran into were very friendly and I felt safe and welcome. Yes there was some highway noise like others have stated, but it really wasn't bad maybe even a bit soothing. It's literally 2 min. away from Litrle Bear Bottoms farm which was a fun little place for us to spend the day. I miss the goats already! Even the one we nicknamed "bullygoat"

Ten days on the road through six states with many incredible vistas, landscapes and camp amenities, and of all of them my family and I loved Tara and Nate’s farm the best. This place exudes peace and calm.
Don’t miss out on the farm tour, meeting the animals, or the option of buying whatever they have that is freshest at the moment.
We fell in love, and very much hope to return.

THIS WAS AN AMAZING STAY!
Tara was so kind and welcoming. We got in a bit late, but nonetheless, she came out and said hi and made sure we got there safely. In the morning, we had a farm tour, and her property is gorgeous. She is definitely a contact for the future for possibly working out there for me personally.
I reccommend ANYONE on Hipcamp who likes beautiful farms, animals, and a warm welcome to stay.
One note, they're close to the highway so you get some highway noise from where you're at, but it wasn't too bad :)

Nate and Tara were super welcoming and the “alternate” spot was actually perfect. Their farm is like a wonderful oasis and I loved the chickens, turkeys and ducks moving around and doing their thing where I was. It was nice to see the farm in operation, too. It felt like part camping, part experience. The farm tour was informative and low key, everyone was so nice and I enjoyed chatting with one of the volunteers. Really, my experience was just wonderful all around, I really enjoyed my time there and would highly recommend!

The water tasted amazing and the bathroom was so clean. We got to see baby turkeys, ducks, chicks, and goats. We slept just feet away from wild turkeys in a tree. In the morning, we ate delicious fresh eggs. This was the coziest and best farm hipcamp experience so far. The hosts and volunteers were super friendly and welcoming.

Cutest little farm ever, our daughters loved walking around, seeing the goats, sheep, roaming turkeys and chickens. Very convenient to Logan. Lots of shade.

This was our first Hipcamp experience and we enjoyed stunning views, genuine connection with our hosts and the wide array of animals, a lovely spot to park our camper in the shade, inspiration from the sustainable cultivation of the property, space to relax and unwind and fresh foods from the garden and livestock. Thank you, Tara and Nate!

We stayed in our camper van for one night. The site was easy to find and a pretty, quiet small farm setting. The hosts were very responsive and provided helpful instructions as we were arriving late. The outhouse was clean. The site was semi-private and semi-shaded. We had good Starlink reception. We purchased some of their fresh produce, dairy products, and soaps as well. We would definitely stay again if we pass back this way.

Shady Grove farm stay
Highly recommend the Shady Grove at the Steep Mountain Farm! We were passing through this part of Utah on a road trip and had a wonderful time camping on the property. Tara was very friendly and met us upon arrival to provide us with a quick welcome and overview of the farm. Great views of the surrounding mountains and we took a stroll around to see some of the animals that also call this delightful place home. And after a long stretch of driving, it was really nice to stretch our legs around a campfire with the other group that was also staying on the property that night! Thank you to Nate and Tara and we would love to find ourselves passing through again someday soon!

Tara and Nate were great and the roaming farm animals kept us entertained. Turkeys finding their way to the tree roosts at night was a fun show. There was another van nearby but we had plenty of privacy. And what a view of the mountains! Bought some Cheve and goat milk yogurt...both excellent. We'll stay again if back in the area.

Camping at the farm was a dream for me and my toddler! He couldn't get enough of the animals, the terrain, the farm equipment it was like living in a YouTube video that he might watch around the house! For myself I love the all the aspects of the farm property rotating agriculture, animal husbandry, beautiful setting against the Wellsville range and close proximity to the quaint and fun town of Logan. Excited to plan a return trip!

Just as described - private with spotless porta potty
Wish I had more time to explore the farm but I needed to get on the road
the absolutely wonderful breakfast of farm raised eggs, homemade goat cheese & greens with seed bread, coffee & fresh goat milk was one of the absolute best breakfasts I’ve had in a long time. Thanks so much to Tara for making me feel welcome

Loved my quick trip to Shady Grove! Wonderful hosts Tara & Nate greeted me upon arrival. Beautiful spot under lovely trees on this working farm. Turkeys, goats, chickens, nearby horses & loads of amazing stuff growing! What a gem! 💎
Stayed in a rented campervan & appreciated the clean porta potty on site. Was out early & didn’t get to say farewell & thanks for a great stay!

I visited Tara and Nate's land because I wanted to learn more about goats. Tara was nice enough to let me sit in the guest seat and ask a whole bunch of questions while she milked several does. I can't thank her enough for her patience.
Turkeys and chickens roam the land during the day and come and greet you every so often. There is also a delightful old cat named Egypt.
The farm hosts volunteers who work while learning how to create sustainable and natural farms. They were inspiring. Visitors can camp in the yard near them or set up a bit away.
The farm is at the end of a long driveway behind a neighborhood. Be sure to follow Tara's instructions. to get there.
It was a lovely experience.

Amazing Real Farm Experience!

Tara's farm is incredible! I have stayed at a number of farms through the years and this one is a cut above. When we arrived we greeted by Tara and her husband. Unfortunately, they had to head out but one of their local volunteer farm hands picked up the greeting ball and offered us a full farm tour! My 5 and 7 year old, got to touch a turkey, feed the goats and even collect chicken eggs! The farm hand talked to them about sustainable agriculture and showed us the greenhouse where he let my kids each pick one strawberry! When the daylight started to set, the incredible shaded area throughout the camp area cooled the temps (even though it was a 100 deg day) enough to feel comfortable around a campfire.....which the farm hands built and started! Nate, Tara's husband, got the ambient garden lights above our head turned on and it felt like something out of a magazine catalogue! In the morning we bought a bag of fresh greens, eggs and a cabbage and we headed off. This wasn't just camping, this was an experience! I would highly recommend it to anyone! The only negative of the whole experience is there is traffic noise. However, the serene nature landscape you are in, cool temperatures, and amazing farm experience dwarf any negative effects the noise has (and when we got in our tent....I couldn't even hear it). Highly recommend! We plan on going again in a few weeks : )

This was such a cool spot! I wish we could have stayed longer. The hosts were very welcoming, accommodating, and down to earth. They have created an amazing self sufficient permaculture farm that they gave us a tour of upon request. We enjoyed chatting with Tara, Nate and their farm volunteers. The hosts were very responsive, assisted us upon arrival, and offered a regular outlet. We were able to order fresh produce and goats milk which was amazing!! Their place is in/close to town and easy to get to. Their property is tucked behind the neighbors and down a long driveway that had a smaller entrance at the end, it was a bit tight for us but our rig is almost 50ft in total to be fair. Beautiful mountain views, property and people. Would stay here again!

What a a delightfully unique “farm-ish” stay!
Our hosts were so accommodating to our last minute reservation and arrival. I was able to purchase lettuce, snap peas, carrots, and radishes from their garden, which made for a deliciously fresh dinner salad, made right on the lawn, and lit by the cutest string lights!
Their cats, turkeys, and goats (all friendly!) were just the cutest welcoming committee, and gave us the right amount of “farm” feel we were looking for.
You are near to the host home and share a lawn space with a few of their farm workers in their own tents and campers. This originally surprised us pulling in. However, after the initial greeting from Tara and Nate, we hardly saw or heard another soul. We actually forgot there was anyone else around—it felt so peacefully private! These hosts sure have mastered the perfect balance of thorough communication/attentiveness and and letting you have your own space to enjoy.
They also have THE CLEANEST outdoor bathroom facilities I could have ever asked for!
I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone looking for a farm stay!

HIGHLY recommend this sweet grassy spot on an awesome regenerative working farm, tucked away in a picturesque valley. Tara and Nate were the most gracious hosts ever! From welcoming us, to offering tours, and giving us roadtrip tips, we were even able to order some yummy veggies, fresh eggs from the farm, and soap. Definitely one of our favorite hipcamp experiences so far. Steep mountain is a hidden gem!
Make sure to say hi to the goats for us :)
