Relaxing Getaway Near Port Elgin

We had a wonderful stay and would happily return. The site felt private and peaceful, with beautiful views over the surrounding fields and some incredible sunsets. The bunkie was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Having a fridge, climate control, and access to the hot tub made the stay especially enjoyable. Pedro was a friendly and responsive host. When we asked about the hot tub temperature, he adjusted it for us quickly. Firewood was provided, which made relaxing around the campfire easy. The location was close enough to Port Elgin for coffee, breakfast, and exploring local shops, while still feeling like a quiet escape from everyday life. It was windy when we arrived, but once things settled down, we enjoyed a campfire, stargazing, and a long soak in the hot tub. Overall, a great spot for a relaxing weekend away.

Backyard Cabin Oasis

Staying at Pedro’s felt like an exclusive adult backyard “cabin out.” Pedro’s hospitality was second to none. We felt right at home from the moment of our arrival. The cabin is perfect for unplugging with the comforts of electricity, light, mini fridge, heater & A.C. The outdoor shower and toilet we’re a highlight - again well equipped and clean. Having access to the outdoor BBQ & Grill over the fire made for some yummy dinners. Ask Pedro where to get the best meat in the area. Who isn’t a fan of a hot tub under the stars and twinkle lights. A relaxing perk that was used every evening we were there. Behind the cabin offers two muskoka chairs tucked in the trees overlooking a field where you can catch a beautiful sunset. There are chickens and an array of other animals that were also cool to visit. Saugeen River Access #3 is a short drive away as well as another access point just down the road. Don’t sleep on this sweet little piece of paradise, with Port Elgin only 10 mins away there is so much to do in this beautiful area. Can’t wait to return.

Had a good time!

We had a great time there. Pedro is very welcoming. He prepared the firepit in advance. The hot tub is amazing! The shred is cozy and warm. Just make sure to bring your own kettle if you need hot water to make tea.

Amazing retreat that’s spa like.

Amazing experience!!! Beautiful and private, host was very welcoming! It was like coming home. The yard was set up amazing, the hot tub under the stars was perfect for a weekend getaway. Would highly recommend.

Relaxing stay near Port Elgin

Super friendly Pedro was a fountain of knowledge and helpfulness upon our arrival. Pleasant relaxing night spent with 2 fur babies who had the time of their lives. Relaxing Hottub and an amazing fire & movie night. 15 min away from the beach and amazing restaurants. would highly recommend. Pedro even suggested a dog-friendly beach that was close by!

Great night away

Pedro was super friendly, helpful and responsive to messages before our arrival and during. There were more amenities in the Bunkie than expected (toaster, coffee maker, microwave, dishes, small fridge, AC and heater and more). The hot tub and fire pit area along with the swing on the tree were bonuses. Thank you for having us.

We had such a beautiful and peaceful stay at Pedro’s place , the perfect setting for our romantic getaway. From the moment we arrived, Pedro was warm, friendly, and truly caring, making us feel right at home. His place is surrounded by a calm and serene atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease. One of the highlights was meeting his four adorable dogs, each one so friendly and cute. They made our stay even more special and heartwarming. A mini paradise

Pedro was a great host, the cabin and all facilities were in excellent working condition. Hot tub and bbq use was a great way to end the evening before starting a fire at the end of the night. We will be returning as it’s very close to many major Lake Huron beaches including kincardine, port Elgin, Southampton and sauble beach

A perfect stay

This place is beautiful. Cozy temperature controlled cabin with a mini fridge. I had a steamy outdoor shower under the stars that was magnificent. Pedro is an exceptional host. I booked with him after 5pm the day of my stay and it was still perfect. 5/5 I couldn't ask for anything more.

Wow! Pedro’s generosity and dedication to his guests was absolutely through the roof. Even though we only stayed one night, we will most definitely be coming back for our romantic couple retreats (plus Beaver 🐾). 100000/10 highly recommend lads

Perfect

Great Host!

Pedro our host was awesome! Really accomadating and great host, we used the nice fire site every night and we had no problems what so ever, close to all amenities and recommended to anyone looking foe a close site near Port Elgin, Sauble Beach!

Really nice host, lots of animals (dogs,cats, goats, chickens). Outdoor Bathroom and shower is great. Nice fire pit. A bit hard to find as there is no signage, just turn in his driveway and knock on the door. He let us use his fridge in the garage to keep beer cold, nice gesture. Thank you Pedro

Hidden Gem

A little hidden Gem 7 min from Port Elgin. Adorable little Bunkie with all the amenities you need with a really cool out door bathroom! Not only is the Host friendly (wink wink) so are all his animals! Your Greeters are his 2 beautiful dogs and 2 pet Goats ! The most Welcoming Stay. Will definitely be staying there again.

The best host

Had such an amazing stay at Pedro’s! It’s a rare breed of hospitality this man offers and the location and features can’t be beat! We spent two days exploring Sauble and the surrounding beaches and cafes, which were amazing. The space and bed were super comfy and he offered us coffees in the morning and a chance to feed and play with his menagerie of animals including newborn kittens and baby goat! What a beautiful weekend! Thank you Pedro!

Pedro is a fantastic host, and gave us lots of good advices on where to go and what to do. His pets are welcoming and sweet. We stayed 4 nights, and we will return for sure!

Best camping experience!

No need to look further, Time at The Shores is the place you want to be! Having animal friends, a campfire, projector, and many other amenities available, you are more than prepared to have a great time. The owner, Pedro, is such a kind and welcoming person, you feel at home. Even though it was raining during our stay, Pedro gave us many options of things to do and that we could use the dryer so that our clothes would be dry. Pedro did everything above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Will definitely need to return for more camping adventures!

When you go spend time at this camp site, be aware you will have not only a host, but a warm friend. Pedro made this experience more special with his care and attention, recommended me places to go, and was always willing to help and make sure I was comfortable and happy with the staying and my trip. I had the luck to stay at his cabin when the night was too cold to stay at my tent. The location is very convenient, and the sounds are quite and peaceful at night.
