Nomadic camping

Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.

The campsite is in an open meadow on our 5 acre property, next to the ruins of what was one of the oldest barns in the county (there are still some beautiful stone walls left). You will be surrounded by trees and the spot is completely private. Directly across the road from our property (a 5 minute walk) is the Little Miami Scenic Trail, the third longest paved trail in the US (amazing for biking). The unique village of Yellow Springs is only a 5 minute drive away with a great local grocery store and several cafes. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE BOOKING. Notes: 1) For camper vans: we do allow camper vans (not RVs or trailers) but you will need to park at the entrance of the meadow where there is gravel. Recently a camper got stuck in the meadow due to rain/mud (which is why we do not allow RVs or trailers). 2) We are still building a compost toilet so the option on the property now is to dig a cat hole at least 6" deep. There is an open public toilet in Yellow Springs and several businesses with open bathrooms. 3) The campsite is right off of Route 68. You cannot see cars from the site but you can hear them. Private but noisy

Pros: Very private, beautiful scenery(lots of black walnut trees and bamboo.) Cons: Traffic noise, over grown entrance and around spring house, lawn and fire pit maintenance was poor. Not really for us.

Great location!

Yellow Springs is a great town with awesome hiking around it, so we very much appreciated the location for this Hip camp. Having no outhouse/ shade was a little rough, but we made due. I believe the hosts are installing an outhouse which will greatly improve the campsite. A small shaded area would also be nice for summer camping - or guests could bring a shade tarp.
