Primitive camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Learn more about this land: The campsite is in an open meadow on our 5 acre property, next to the ruins of what was one of the oldest barns in the county (there are still some beautiful stone walls left). You will be surrounded by trees and the spot is completely private. Directly across the road from our property (a 5 minute walk) is the Little Miami Scenic Trail, the third longest paved trail in the US (amazing for biking). The unique village of Yellow Springs is only a 5 minute drive away with a great local grocery store and several cafes. Included in this campsite is access to our 1830s spring house if you want a refreshing dip!  PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE BOOKING. Notes: 1) For camper vans: we do allow camper vans (not RVs or trailers) but you will need to park at the entrance of the meadow where there is gravel. Recently a camper got stuck in the meadow due to rain/mud (which is why we do not allow RVs or trailers). 2) We are still building a compost toilet so the option on the property now is to dig a cat hole at least 6" deep. There is an open public toilet in Yellow Springs and several businesses with open bathrooms. 3) The spring house is not secluded, you can see it from our driveway. We regularly let it drain and it fills itself up. Water level depends on rainfall. It is cold but perfect for hot days! 4) The campsite is right off of Route 68. You cannot see cars from the site but you can hear them. The amount of noise from cars is lower at night. 5) The meadow is ideal for tent camping, though it is NOT a built campsite so it is not perfectly level throughout. The campsite is in an open meadow on our 5 acre property, next to the ruins of what was one of the oldest barns in the county (there are still some beautiful stone walls left). Pros & Cons
PROS: Very close to Yellow Springs, Glen Helen Nature Preserve, Clifton Gorge and John Bryan State Park. It's a completely secluded site. From the main driveway you take two short left turns to pull into your circular camp site. You don't see the road or houses. CONS: It's right on a 55 MPH road so it's noisy. A lot of the camp site had super long grass that was matted down. (from walking on? tents?) Needs better upkeep. I was only at the site for about 30 min when I realized I had a big car issue and needed to leave and get home. I texted Angie, thru HipCamp, my issue and stated how I was there but couldn't stay. It's over a week later and she never replied asking how my car was doing or refunded my money. Shows a bit of inhumanity. Disappointed.

I camped here for my birthday weekend. The site was close to civilization (Yellow Springs is a special community) but also isolated, I still felt immersion into the natural world. Greatly for these hosts making this available.

We were in a pinch. All the park sites were already reserved and we were desperately looking for a yellow springs camp site. Thankfully HipCamp came to the rescue. Angie has a beautiful little meadow that's in the heart of everything. There's a fire circle but you definitely need to bring your own wood. The site is very close to Glen Helen and the Clifton Gorge. This spot is very convenient and private. Would come again

No refunds at all
I wish I would’ve gotten some sort of compensation because I got a terrible stomach virus the day I was supposed to leave and I just wasted $40.

This spot was beautiful and secluded! Just a quick 7 minute drive to downtown and quiet at night. Also has a good view of the stars at night. Would definitely recommend :)

Fall Motocamping Trip
This is a perfect little get away spot close to home. Stayed here because the local state park had no openings. My daughter and I rode our motorcycles in and camped for one night in a tent. Great directions and easy to find!
