The Pasquotank River and the surrounding waters outside Elizabeth City are well known in northeastern North Carolina for their mix of freshwater and brackish water fishing, as well as classic coastal waterfowl hunting. The Pasquotank is especially known for: largemouth bass, white perch, crappie, blue catfish, striped bass (rockfish), flounder, red drum, bluegill, and perch. Hunters in the area commonly find: canvasbacks, bluebills, ringnecks, buffleheads, ruddy ducks, mallards, and black ducks. Open-water "diver duck" hunting is especially popular in the Albemarle.Great area for fishing and hunting fowl, just of Pasquotank river. Rural area
