The campsite is approximately 25' x 25' and includes a leveled 10' x 20' tent pad for an easier, more comfortable setup. The site includes a picnic table, two Adirondack chairs, a fire pit for use during permitted conditions, a portable toilet, and a hand-wash station. Cell service is generally available at the campsite for most major carriers, and Wi-Fi hotspot access is available at the camp store. The campsite is approximately 25’ x 25’ and includes a leveled 10’ x 20’ tent pad for an easier, more comfortable setup. The site includes a picnic table, two Adirondack chairs, a fire pit for use during permitted conditions, a portable toilet, and a hand-wash station. Cell service is generally available at the campsite for most major carriers, and Wi-Fi hotspot access is available at the camp store. First of all let me say that Zachary and his entire family are gracious and thoughtful hosts that are obviously passionate about the preserve and committed to supporting guests in having an enjoyable Finger Lakes experience. The trails on the property are enchanting really, like a fairytale. I am a Kripalu Certified Mindful Outdoor Guide and an avid traveler who hikes and backpacks solo all over the world. Zachary’s land was peaceful and naturally beautifully with intentionally, very well done, areas restored with native flora. Montour Falls and nearby Watkins Glenn and Hector have numerous great spots for wine, hiking, and food. Zachary’s father picked up all my gear from the parking area in his tractor and happily dropped it off at my site, which was nestled in the forest. There was cell service covering the entire grounds and along my bike route. The RV toilet and portable sink at the site was a luxury for a backwoods girl like myself! The sites are quite spread out and private. I’m planning to go back in October to immerse myself in the foliage. It was like a retreat! I shared photos and videos of the experience on my social media with lots of people inquiring about staying on the preserve. I encourage anyone wanting to connect to nature and meet sweet people to book a stay! Fingerlakes Sunmer and Autumn are amazing, come visit and stay w/ Zachary! More recommendations: Althea’s MFalls food/cocktails. Graft in WG for food/wine. Wineries: Forge, Damiani, Atwater sunset!

Second trip more amazing than first

This was my second time camping at Goldenrod Preserve. After my initial trip, I knew I had to come back! This time, my partner joined me on my stay, and we both loved the location and ambience of the Forest View camp site. I also added on the Guided Conservation Tour of the property. Although Saturday was much rainier than I had originally anticipated, we were able to do the guided tour on Sunday. It was wonderful getting to see the various campsites in person, and see the ongoing conservation efforts for the property. Zachary, the campsite host and the guide for the tour, was very knowledgeable, and it was very easy to see that he really cared about the work they are doing. After the guided tour was over, Zachary had given me some recommendations for local market stands and attractions that were nearby, but might not be listed on the major tourist blogs. Visiting these local farms and markets was a great way to spend the rest of the day.

Beautiful landscape, and peaceful

The time spent on Goldenrod Preserve was amazing! Beautiful forested areas, meadows, a pond, and abundant wildlife. The campsite was well appointed, with a picnic table. And the host was very helpful at both arrival and departure, helping me to and from the campsite with my gear - all they needed was a bit of a heads up for the assistance. The camp store, where you check in, was very nice! I look forward to trying other campsites within Goldenrod Preserve, and will hopefully be able to arrange a tour of the property (an added option) to a future stay. If I spend extended time in this area in the future, I would even consider co-working at the camp store, here. Highly recommended, I'm sure you'll love it, too!

Great site, great host

We had a wonderful experience, Zach was very accommodating and it is a beautiful site. We chose Pond View and a lovely view it is, and if you’re lucky you might see the pond’s resident muskrat. It was cold out but the beautiful scenery and tranquil nature sounds made it worth it. There is a tractor available to load you in and out, and while there are not any campfires on site there is a nearby communal fire pit that Zach was kind enough to stock with kindling and a lighter for us. Thank you for having us, looking forward to coming back when the weather is better and exploring the rest of the property!
