The campsite is really good, well maintained and has great facilities, but there are a few things that would have been very helpful to know before arriving.
If you are staying in the Barra area, access is by ferry and it costs $8 each way. They only accept card, so this caught us by surprise and should be clearly mentioned beforehand.
The mosquitoes were also extremely bad, probably due to the location close to the river. It was honestly one of the worst places for mozzies I have ever been, so bring strong repellent and antihistamines if you react badly to bites.
The beach is not right in front of the campsite as the photos may suggest. You can hear the ocean, which is lovely, but the beach is around a 15-minute walk, about 1 to 2 km away. The trail is not extremely rough, but it is not as easy as it seems and would not be suitable for someone with a physical disability.
Coffee is available on site but quite expensive, around $8. Firewood is also available but pricey, and firepit hire is $15 per night, so I recommend bringing your own if possible.
The BBQs could also be cleaned more often, especially the grease traps/drip trays, which were very full and unpleasant.
Overall, it is a lovely campsite with good structure and a nice atmosphere for families and kids, but be prepared for mozzies, extra costs and a longer walk to the beach than expected, photos should be more honest and not show beachfront images as it can be very misleading.
