A really nice, clean, quiet, secluded spot, which was what I was looking for. Either a good hike or a 4x4 to get down to the spot, but worth it. Looking forward to visiting John's place again.

Host was great with communicating with me on directions and responsive when I had a question. The property was exactly as described in the ad and my family had a wonderful time. Grab all the supplies you need, the town doesn't have many options for groceries. Not even really an issue, just a time saving tip. 😊

Hickory Forest RV Camp Site
This was our second visit to JQ’s land and we just love it there! It’s quiet, secluded, our pups love being off leash and there is so much land to walk and explore. This time we also did some fishing in the pond, as well. We will most definitely be back next year. Super friendly host, beautiful location, well maintained, can’t go wrong spending time here!

I had a great time here, JQ was an awesome host and made us feel at home. There is a lot to do and plenty of space. The camping area and trails were very nice and well maintained. I will definitely be back.

This property is great! Walking paths throughout lots of wildlife quite and private. I use RV site has electricity and water ( I bring my own potable) The site is huge lots of shade near pond and tree house John is a awesome host always helpful answers quickly!

This was a unique site as it was private and wooded. We could hear a barn owl hooting during the night. The kids really enjoyed the tree house with the hammock. The host was very helpful and guided us down to the river bottom. Thanks!

Exceptionally well cared for spacious property of mixed prairie and forested tracks. Especially enjoyed the numerous wildflower patches, walking paths and privacy. John was a wonderful, conservation minded host who met with me shortly after arriving, provided a brief tour that included best way to access his trails along the (Platte) river bottom and answered my questions as we walked together. Also found many hiking opportunities in the Smithville Lake area a short distance away. Would highly recommend this Hipcamp and would definitely return when traveling in the area.

I absolutely loved staying here! It's literally a slice of heaven! A beautiful row of wildflowers guide your way down to the campsite, passing along the fully stocked pond where the fish are too smart for my own good! The campsite had beautiful woods and trails leading to different spots on the property. I would definitely love to stay here again!

JQ made it his business to welcome us and made sure accommodations were correct. Site was very relaxing and quiet .... had an assortment of trails to walk and awesome pond to sit at. Fields of wild flowers

The property was so beautiful with lots of trails/paths to explore! And the treehouse was the perfect place to chill, looking out over the land by day or watching hundreds of fireflies by night. We felt nestled among the trees but with plenty of space for both our vans. Also loved all the different wildflowers and monarch butterflies! Will definitely be back!

What a delight to rest up after a long drive. John's place is quiet and stunningly beautiful. The dogs loved chasing rabbits and getting the wiggles out on our cross-country road trip. Excellent communication and even a flush toilet in the outhouse! Highly recommend.

Property had good amenities and was very spacious and private. We were the only campers that night, which is always nice. I tried some of the trails, which were nice, but forgot to put on bug spray, which is a bad idea in the woods with long grass.

Oh my gosh, where to start. I booked it the day of and they still accepted me. It was a little confusing entering and finding a spot. The owners friend called and told me everything I needed to know and was SUPER helpful and sweet. The fishing was AWESOME. I caught a fish almost every cast (all were successfully let go and lived). This spot made it to the top 3 places I would go again happily. I cannot recommend this place enough!!

Beautiful wooded area, peaceful and serene. The rain was nice. There is a fire pit and lots of wood. Back away from all the noise and lights of city life. A calm reset.

I loved camping on John’s land. I camped on the River Bottom site. It was quiet and shady and very secluded. My dog and I walked some of the trails. We enjoyed a weekend away from the city.

I highly recommend this as a fantastic opportunity to get off the grid for a while. John is very receptive to inquires within the app. As well as, when you get there, he will guide you what to do based on your wants and needs on the property.
The property itself is amazing. You get a pond, a river, timber areas, farmland, plenty of hiking paths. The wildlife is almost overwhelming. From Coyotes in the distance, to owls up close.
It is a hidden gem! Thank you John for the opportunity!

Me and my girlfriend camped and everything went smoothly! Our doggo enjoyed the thick grass and all the land. The best part was seeing the stars at night definitely a good place to stargaze. JQ was very responsive and checked up on us accordingly. It’s always nice to know the owner cares about who is staying on the land. Definitely recommend a truck driving to the campsite but our little honda did just fine since it hadn’t rained previously.
