Clean, private, and spacious. The host was great and accommodating, the property and views were beautiful, and there was even some wildlife. Note that the ground is quite rocky when hammering in stakes. You do hear animals at night (coyotes, dogs, and a rooster) and planes fly overhead (I guess the site is near an airport), but I slept well with earplugs. I had good mobile service in some spots.

If you like horses and dogs, this is a great place to camp! Most of the horses came over to say hello while we were setting up our tent, and my kids were fascinated. The animals are all very friendly and love getting pets. Sandra was great. My daughter has already asked when we can go back.

Sandra and her land made for the perfect stargazing date night. She was very responsive and gave us a perfect, private spot to enjoy the stars and see the milky way. We loved listening to her horses through the night. This was our first time trying out hipcamp and couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Great place. Friendly hosts. It was really quiet at night and it’s an amazing place to see the stars. It was also neat to pet the horses.

Sandra was a great host! Sucha beautiful property, and we had plenty of privacy and space. The horses and dogs were SO friendly, and having the bathroom and water available was a plus. Sandra was helpful, friendly and communicated well. Definitely would recommend!

This was a wonderful place to camp. Sandra was a warm host who invited us to local outings but also gave us our privacy. Her horses are beautiful and well cared for. The site was private, spacious and quite cool even in the heat of late August.

Sandra was sweet and strait forward. I’m sure we could have spoke for hours if we hadn’t had prior obligations. She invited me out to an event in the area and gave me directions to the river I wanted to go to. I felt safe on her ranch and the horses and dogs where a lovely bonus. I stayed at the spot on the top of the hill it was nice and private. One thing to note, is the soul is not very deep, making it hard to put a tent post in. However I didn’t try other spots at the site. If I am ever back in the area I will book with Sandra again.

Per usual, this hipcamp was incredible! The ground was so comfortable to sleep on, there was a fire pit with a grate, a bathroom, and it was private! Up on top of the hill, the views were so beautiful in the mornings. We loved seeing the dogs and horses. Lovely time!

We requested an early check in so we could come for a day trip and dish the pond. Sandra was very accommodating and worked to find a day when she could do early check in for us.
Paths were mowed and all of her animals were friendly. The fish were a little shy but we finally got some bites and we had a great time.

We LOVED staying here. Sandra is so friendly, helpful and goes beyond to make sure everything is alright. She provided us with wood to make a camp fire. Her dogs are super friendly too and were really kind toward my doodle who was happy to make new friends.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Sandra’s beautiful property. Wish the weather had been better behaved so we could have gone trail riding!
The bathroom facility was very clean and with a large sink. A baby possum was being nursed nearby…very cute.
There are mowed trails all over the property, with beautiful views of the countryside. The horses are very friendly and of course add a lot to the ambiance.
Sandra was a terrific host, quick to accommodate.

Amazing camp site! We absolutely loved it. It was a great secluded spot and the starry sky was incredible! There was a river access point just down the road and a produce stand within a few miles from a local farmer. The horses on the property were gorgeous and friendly. Really loved our stay. Highly recommend!

Sandra made us feel super welcome, showed us to our site, and said we could go anywhere on her land!!!! The site had some trees for shade and a firepit. Her horses are super fun to pet and they also get to roam the acreage. She checked on us in the early evening. We are definitely coming back!!!!

Sandra was so friendly and welcoming! It was a pure delight getting to know her and her horses. 10 out of 10 would recommend for anyone interested in horses-there is plenty of opportunity to interact with them freely, whether in the barn or out at pasture. They like to graze in the field by our camp spot in the evenings, which was a special treat for our kids. Also being able to ride the horses out on the trails was fantastic, even for those of us who were newer to riding. Sandra made sure we were all safe and comfortable without babying us. A real gem of a camping experience!! Also really enjoyed the Niangua River experience just a few miles down the road-shallow enough for little kids and beautiful for the grown ups!

This place is magical! Our family has camped here twice now and it feels like a home away from home. We hope to spend many family weekends here as our kids grow up! Sandra is so welcoming, so loving and willing to teach you as much as you want to learn! Being able to unplug on her land, which has such a peaceful energy and connect with the horses, is such a gift for all - young and old!

I had a blast! Was peaceful and extremly relaxing. I walked in woods,enjoyed a bonfire and listened to many birds. Even heard some coyotes in the night.
Price is cheap but the stay is not..i paid to ride one of her Beautiful horses, and it was so wonderful. Over an hour ride in her many cool trails. I'M a local and it's great to have a place to go thats not so far away. I will be coming back often!! Its great....

This was my 3rd time staying here. Sandy is great host. Her sites are beautiful and secluded from each other. Two of them are big enough for my small camper. There is no shower available and the water supply is in the barn, which is a few minutes’ walk away, so bring large water jugs to have at your campsite.
She leads the best trail rides through her property. If the night is bright, she will take you on a moonlit ride. She tries to match the horse to its rider, and these are not bored trail/work horses.
She has a small stocked pond if you like to fish. Otherwise, the Niangua River is a short drive away to cool off on a hot summer day. This time we drove 30 minutes to Fellow’s Lake to go kayaking. (They also have mountain bike and hiking trails there.)

Idyllic horse ranch, beautiful sunset, plenty of space for a family (and many more)! Sandra was very friendly, as were her canine friends who entertained the kids. Some barking dogs in the distance occasionally interrupted our sleep, but overall we really enjoyed our stay!

The ranch is full of spirit! It was the perfect combination of simplicity and magic! We spent our days in the field hugging and petting the beautiful horses and our evening nestled around a fire at private and serene camp site. We got a visit from about 40-50 cows one evening! Sandra was warm, welcoming and full of light! She blessed us with an amazing trail ride and was so patient finding the perfect combination for us all to ride ( we have a 6, 4 and 1 year old!) the ride was authentic and we learned a few things about really controlling the horse! We left filled up, heart, body and soul ✨ We will definitely be bsck!

I have one word to say. BREATHTAKING!!!!Sandra is such a sweet heart. She has an amazing place and takes great care of her animals. The time i was there was realy what my two kids and I needed. If you want a great place to camp where you have your privacy, can go on adventures, and interact with the horses this is for sure the place to go. The horses are also so sweet and friendly.

We loved staying at Boss Mare Ranch and Horse Park. Sandra was really kind and accommodating. Our daughter loved feeding the horses. When we visited a big storm blew in and we were under a tornado warning and Sandra communicated well with us on what to do and where to go if a tornado did occur (it did not). But it was nice to know we’d have some refuge other than our campsite.
