The site was very quiet and we were the only campers in the area. It was secluded and a great spot for a getaway. The firewood on-site was a big plus for us. We were also grateful for the extremely clean porta potty on site. Hosts were not on site that we could tell, but it was not needed anyway for our stay.

The high and dry site was easy to find, felt private, had enough room to spread out and was surrounded by woods. It was conveniently located close to town and to parks and hiking in the area. We didn't see anyone (except two friendly dogs that stopped by one day). There is a nice fire pit at the site and a clean porta potty a quick walk across the bridge. There was a some road noise, but overall a nice little spot and good base camp with so much to explore in this beautiful area.

I thoroughly enjoyed tent camping on Sherri’s land. High and Dry was a spacious spot on the edge of the woods with a great mix of tree coverage and expansive skies (fantastic for stargazing). A great base camp location for anyone wanting to check out the local natural wonders~!

Very nice camp spot and the best part was there was plenty of wood. As a solo traveler I felt moderately safe in the surroundings (without a visible host). If you like views, book one of the other sites on their land.

The location was perfect for a weekend of activities around Arcadia Valley. The campsite was just as described and Sarah was super responsive to my questions. I would definitely stay at High & Dry on Arcadia Valley BaseCamp again.

Very cute! tiny little lot but big enough for our 2 cars and 2 tents and 5 people. surrounding town is full of creeks and places to fish but not a lot of swimming grounds. right next to elephant rock and very easy to find

Beautiful and quiet. Small pond full of croaking frogs. Barn in the backdrop. Trees and open space. It was just the two of us at the time so it was private. I don't know about staying with other spots filled. We are pretty private people though and like our time away from people. Small low water crossing to get back to the property.

The tiny house at Sherri’s camp is quaint, comfortable, and clean. All the comforts of home with the peaceful surroundings. There were even lightening bugs!

I recently spent a weekend at the high and dry camp site and it was absolutely incredible. The site was clean, well-maintained, and nestled in a stunning natural setting. Waking up to the sound of birds and the creek that right next to the site was the perfect escape from daily life

Very secluded and close to Ironton and state parks. Lots of wildlife to enjoy- plants, cool looking bugs, beautiful butterflies and moths, and there were thousands of lightning bugs in the field by the pond as it was getting dark which was magical.

The itsy bitsy home kept me and my dog out of the rain. It’s like a large doll house - the front door is very little but if you walk around back there’s a much larger access. It was quick over night stay, but for what it was - beautiful area with great access to trails.

Beautiful place to camp. The site itself had plenty of room, and was very flat, making it easy to put my tent wherever I wanted. It was also nice to have a stack of firewood right on the site.
I highly recommend staying here!

This site was a wonderful home base to visit Elephant Rocks SP, Johnson's Shut-ins SP, Pickle Springs Natural Area, and Taum Sauk SP! The campfire ring and picnic table helped make for a really easy set-up, and the potable water was helpful (and tasty)!

Remote from the main roads, but not inaccessible, and a great launching point for a lot of adventures in the area. Plenty of good firewood, water, and toilet access, and a great view of the stars.

Nice place, easy to find. For quietness I give it a 4 out of 5. The toilet is a porta potty which seemed clean. Very close to a lot of great sites like Johnston shut-ins, the Castor and Black rivers, and dozens of hiking spots.

i stayed at campsite 1... i put my tent by the stream bc i didnt want to have it on the gravel.. but unfortunately, lots of ticks since of course i was in the trees/brush ... but my bites are severe... so make sure to i guess... avoid doing that.
great that they love dogs... they had 2 friendly dogs who greeted my dog...
i guess the ticks were my fault not the campsite... but im going to urgent care today bc i was covered 😧 with bites. dog was fine bc he's on montly pills... i wish they would make pills like that for humans
the stream was so clean and nice... but then it mysteriously disappeared... i'm not familiar with the ozarks... do the small streams just get sucked into their unseen sources like that??? wow. that was on the second to last day- it didnt dry up... it was several feet deep in places! this was more of a note than a review... as far as that...
well... leaving notes for the hosts and future campers... it was very near to beautiful hiking places.... as they do name this, the base camp.
🌅🌲also, the host told me of plentiful water pumps that i was welcome to use around the camp...
i'm not used to the general area... someone must have more tick iq than myself.... 😥 the tiny ones got me... just... all over . maybe 70 in my skin the bigger ones, i was able to remove while camping

Greeted by deer. Private location with lots of peace and quiet. Water, porta-potty, picnic table, fire pit, trashcan, hook to hang food. Very clean and well maintained.
Hosts provide accurate and good instructions. Proximity to charming Ironton, MO.

Although the area is known for trails, I went to sit and relax, try out some camping equipment, and catch up on pleasure reading. This site was prefect. The host has done a lot of work to ensure a clean and safe site, and it was very peaceful. The whippoorwills were in true form, the frogs in the pond sang each evening, and there is plenty of other small wildlife. I'll be back!

Sherri’s land is secluded and quiet, but close enough to town for any amenities if we ran out or forgot something. We were right beside a babbling brook and we took many naps to the sound of the water flowing by. Great hiking only a short drive away. The out house was spectacularly clean, probably the cleanest I have ever seen. Could not recommend enough.
