Earn this patch by being the first to spend a night outside at a new Hipcamp.
Our 15 acre homestead is uniquely located in the hillside overlooking Lake Superior. Your stay at our hostel or glampground and campground will give you a glimpse into our humble, yet fulfilling life on the edge of the wilderness in Northern Minnesota. We offer peaceful and beautiful accommodations for your camping or glamping experience. Choose between a cozy, private room in our hostel, your own Glamping tent experience or rent one of our primitive campsites and sleep under the stars in your own tent. Our new shower house facility is included with your stay in our Glamping tents or Campsites. With hot showers, flushing toilets and sinks we've got you covered!

Primitive Campsite 1

All primitive campsites are BYOG (Bring Your Own Gear), and are a short 1 to 5 minute walk to the site/s. Our campsites are nestled into the forest on our homestead where our hostel, Hungry Hippie Hostel is located. Campers have access to our new shower house which has men's and women's rooms. Both bathrooms have electrical outlets, two hot showers, two sinks and three flushing toilets. There are also outside outlets, water spigots and an outside sink for camp dishes for your use as well. We also provide a communal fire pit with picnic table and benches for our campsite guests. Parking is located next to the brand new shower house. You will need to carry your gear to your tent (we do provide a wheeled cart to help with this).

Bunkhouse Queen Suite

The Bunkhouse Queen Suite - Private Room #6 is located on the upper level of the hostel with an amazing view of Lake Superior and the homestead. It sleeps six, with a queen size bed and two sets of bunk beds. There is a half bath upstairs just outside of the main bedroom and a common area with microwave, small refrigerator, couch and chair. Showers are located on the main level of the hostel along with the main kitchenette. To access you will need to climb the stairs in the back of the hostel.

Glamping Tent #1 (Queen Bed)

We provide you with a Tent Master’s canvas wall tent on a wooden platform with a comfy queen bed and a couple of chairs for lounging and enjoying the amazing view. Each tent has a private fire pit and picnic table. You will need to provide your own linens for the Glamping Tents. There is no water or electric provided at the tents. There are several water spigots and electrical outlets at the new Shower House facility for you to use along with hot showers + flushing toilets. Please note pets are not allowed in the Glamping Tents.
