A stylish off-grid cottage in the middle of nature, yet just a short walk from the lovely Maine village of Waldoboro. More photos to come as I finish construction! Open floor layout (12 x 18) with spacious ceiling height, including a 13' front wall with large antique windows overlooking a private wooded view. The back wall is 8' high. A separate small building contains the outhouse and hot-water shower (photos to come). The listing is set for 2 guests max, but note that the bed is a sofa bed sized as a double/full. The space This is an off-grid one-room living space on the edge of my 3-acre wooded and pasture lot, with my house about 250' away on the other side of the pasture. The cottage has its own one-car parking space about 100' away. This is a peaceful retreat from busy, more “normal” living spaces, with no electricity. It includes a two-burner propane cooktop, a propane-powered cube fridge with a small freezer, and a kitchen sink with hot and cold water. A comfortable IKEA sofa bed allows for a good night’s rest (double/full size when not a sofa) and quickly converts to a more open living area during the day. The sofa bed includes a storage compartment that easily holds the bedding and pillows, which are all provided. An antique drop-leaf table offers adjustable space for eating, writing, or working. Four chairs are provided (two permanent, two folding for additional guests). A small dresser, cookware, plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, utensils, etc. are included. French press coffee, a kettle, and tea are also provided. Basic cooking condiments are supplied. Stylish LED lights recharge via a USB solar battery (also used for charging phones and tablets). There are also oil lamps. The door has a Bluetooth-enabled keypad lock. The outhouse/shower is in a separate building next to the cottage, featuring hot and cold water for the shower and a composting toilet in an adjacent space. A table with a wash basin is also in the shower room. Towels and washcloths are provided. 🏳️‍🌈 All are welcome here! 💕 Guest access The entire cottage and outhouse/shower area are private to you. Other things to note This is an off-grid cottage intended for those seeking a unique adventure and a simpler way of living.
