Situated on a lake on the Amite River, close to the city but out in the country. Use the property for a party or catered event. Party like you are at your own home, but don't have to worry about neighbors. Play the music, build a bonfire, BYOB. Have your event catered at your own expense with the venue price already known. Events can run all night, but the property must be completely cleared before 10 AM. We provide electricity, water, trash, bathroom (bring toilet paper and towels for showers), WiFi, and an outdoor prep area with a large stainless steel table.

As soon as you pull in the driveway you'll see the ol' RV on the right. This is a couple of steps up from tent camping, but it's not a hotel level accommodation! 32' RV, the bathroom and rear bedroom are sectioned off with an 8000 BTU portable AC, NEW full size mattress in plastic with fresh sheets every week or individual stay. Smart TV with wifi access. The AC stays in the tub for draining. There are no full time hookups, but we will have electric out there to run the ac and fridge. Use the public bathroom provided under the cabin. Hi Speed Wifi is included, water hose by the stainless table and a bathroom is under the cabin with hot showers and a toilet.

Lots of drawbacks. It seems like there are a few long term people who live in tents there and have dogs with them that bark at night There's a trailer that has a toilet and shower. But it smells bad and it is noticeably dirty and just doesn't feel right. Based on these two things, I wouldn't recommend. It just felt way too uncomfortable to me.

This spot was exactly what we needed. My son (12) was tired of sleep camping in the Jeep with me through Cracker Barrel’s and truck stops across 5 states. He wanted to sleep by himself in a tent. We needed to charge our EcoFlow power station, too. So Damon’s spot gave us a night to refresh and each have a night to our own space before moving on.

The actual camping space was pretty overlooking a pond, but it was not real clear which space we were supposed to go in. We picked the prettiest view. The rest of the property had the host's house who we did not see at all. There was lots of junk strewn about the property. The worst part was the trailer that was set up with toilet and shower. It was very run down with more junk inside and hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. This has the potential for being a nice campsite but it needs a major facelift. In its present condition, I would not reccommend.

Quiet spot but close to everything you want to do in Baton Rouge. There was one tent camper there the whole time we were there (they looked pretty permanent/settled) and 2-3 others who came for the night but were gone by morning. We were in the RV spot which had a great view of water and easy to access hookups. We have a small camper (under 20ft) and it was easy to get in and site was pretty level. The site is on a loop which was about 1 mile around and a nice walk. Minimal traffic

I stayed at what I think is the best spot—Campsite 2—and had a great experience. The water was beautiful, and the whole area felt peaceful and relaxing. Damon was helpful and let me know where water might collect if it rained. My dog and I weren’t bothered by anyone and really enjoyed the quiet. I’d definitely stay here again.

We had a good time! We were able to get my 22 year old son to watch his 10 year old sister for us to just take a weekend for ourselves. We had the perfect set up right on the water! Rented the boat for the weekend and had so much fun fishing and trolling the lake! There is an RV right there for use of toilet, a sink for hand washing, and a shower. If you are looking for a fancy place to camp this is not it… if you are like us simple people this was just enough!!! We had a nice relaxing weekend! Will definitely come back!!!

I would most definitely recommend Damon's land for camping! It was peaceful and quiet but not too far from town. As a solo female camper, I felt safe. Having access to the RV (which could have been a little cleaner, but was not the worst public bathroom I've seen!) with a flush toilet, hot running water, and shower was a game changer for my trip ~ I had planned to split my 2 week vacation between camping and hostels, but decided to camp the whole time! I will camp on Damon's land again the next time I am in Louisiana!

I would definitely recommend this spot to others! It's peaceful & quiet. Beautiful area right on the river. Having access to the RV with hot running water, a shower & flush toilet was a game changer! I had planned to split my trip from Maine between car camping & staying at a hostel, but decided to stay on Damon's land for my whole vacation.

This campsite is beautiful. The host, Damon, is a wonderful guy. He does live on-site which wasn't an issue, in fact, I felt safer knowing he was around. The upkeep on the property is well done. Damon allowed us to move sites when we realized we weren't getting as much shade as we wanted in the peak of the day. Our dogs had plenty of room the explore and run. My husband and I were so impressed that we extended our stay. Other notes: This property isn't super remote. Yes there are neighbors and traffic but nothing remotely as bad as a hotel by the interstate or even a KOA.

Very tranquil and beautiful spot in nature. Just what the doctor order after packing it out of New Orleans enroute to Denver. Damon is super helpful and will accommodate you. He moved me in closer and mowed grass before I moved over too. Definitely would return!

We really enjoyed our two nights at Damon’s camp site. It was so quiet and peaceful, exactly what we needed. Upon arrival, Damon provided the electric cord and it was easy to get hooked up. Water hose was near by, the shower and flush toilet, located in an older trailer was much appreciated.

Wet disappointed with this spot. There was a large trailer in the way which made backing into the site extremely difficult even with a small camper. Junk in the brush, site was completely unkept, in mowed, overgrown. Never got the power I paid for. I water, no help parking, nothing.

Amazing and beautiful. Easy to access and feels safe. The night time was perfect despite rain. The host was easy to contact and we didn’t see him much at all so the sense of privacy was amazing. Overall we loved it and will be back
