All sites have access to a regular toilet in the RV on site by the cabin, along with a well water hose hanging by the well and trash bins. XTRAS: Hi Speed Cox WiFi, a regular extension cord, hot showers in the RV, Full Size refrigerator use in the RV, Use of a jon boat (trolling motor, battery, and boat cushions provided), ATV trails (low speed trails covering the camp with hills, mud, and swamp scenery) You will catch catfish and bream on a live worm; an eight-pound bass has been caught here. We now offer "venue" level use of the camp for catered events, parties, or larger get-togethers! Pick the site "Horseshoe Bend Parties" and select the number of people attending. This is a 24-hour rental starting at 10 AM. We provide electricity, bathrooms, showers, and high-speed wifi. The Glamping pod includes ALL extras free of charge

If you don't have a tent or want something a little more secure than a tent, there is a small utility building next to the lake. On warmer days, you can set up the AC, and a small electric heater will provide plenty of warmth in the compact space on cold nights. The top rolls back for stargazing. You can lock your things up for trips away from the pod. This is ideal for one person, but a couple could share it if they don't mind being close. I'm 5' 10" and can fit in it completely stretched out. I provide electricity, portable AC, water, garbage bins, Wi-Fi access, and hot showers in the RV with the glamping pod. The glamping pod area can host larger gatherings, but guests will bring their own tents. Use of the boat is included!

Horseshoe Bend Parties

Situated on a lake on the Amite River, close to the city but out in the country. Use the property for a party or catered event. Party like you are at your own home, but don't have to worry about neighbors. Play the music, build a bonfire, BYOB. Have your event catered at your own expense with the venue price already known. Events can run all night, but the property must be completely cleared before 10 AM. We provide electricity, water, trash, bathroom (bring toilet paper and towels for showers), WiFi, and an outdoor prep area with a large stainless steel table.

Amazing and beautiful. Easy to access and feels safe. The night time was perfect despite rain. The host was easy to contact and we didn’t see him much at all so the sense of privacy was amazing. Overall we loved it and will be back

We had a lovely stay on Damon's land, by the lake and enjoyed a fire. We did not see Damon and could not open his message to us, but the place was easy to find and we figured things out.

This was the perfect location for visiting friends and family from Abbeville, BR, NO, and lots of locations in between. The site itself is quiet and secluded while only being a few miles from stores and restaurants. And Damon is a wonderful host. He's available through the app if needed. Otherwise he leaves you to your own devices. Perfect! I look forward to my next trip down south

We had a great stay at Damon's land. Everything went smoothly and we were directly at the waters edge. It's close to the cabin and RV but that wasn't an issue.

Camping at Horseshoe Bend was really nice. It’s right next to water. Very serene atmosphere. A lovely spot, if you’d like to get out of the city! Damon was very communicative, which I surely appreciated. If you’re looking for a quiet spot, out of the city but not TOO far, this is the spot to be in Baton Rouge!

It was a perfect spot to put your head down for the night, but I will say it didn’t feel very private. The area was nice and enough space was given to us for chilling and hammocking, but our proximity to camping spot #2 made me feel uneasy to play music aloud or make too much noise as we were directly next to eachother. I would suggest this be merged into one single camp spot. No other complaints

Damon is a super nice guy . You’re basically camping in his front yard in small pull offs Right on the water. For an extra fee there is a hot shower and laundry available.

Site was perfect for a quick trip. At first, I was a little put off by how close the house is to the site. However, it was easy to ignore as the night went on. We were able to fish on the river and make a campfire for meals. Overall, peaceful experience and beautiful view of river and stars.

I enjoyed this stay! I had never been to Louisiana before and this spot is a great place to check out some of the local Vegetation and wildlife. Car camped and was comfortable parking right next to the river. Host is super welcoming also!

Although , I had weird experiences with his son driving past our tent at night left his lights on in the truck and went in the RV we paid for to take showers so we didn't have completely the space we paid for ... We just didn't take showers . Oh and that ac...if don't know how to rig them it won't work because it leaks a lot and constantly.. but the land was beautiful and the site was clean... And the host offered me lighter fluid.

"The Rest Area"
I don't know if Damon read reviews and cleaned up his HipCamp? Or if it wasn't really that bad to begin with, but despite being cursed | blessed with OCD, I found Damon's HipCamp to be perfect for what we needed: a "Rest Area." We were only there for the night, so it's not like we needed and or used a lot, but I can't find any reason to give it less than five stars! We were two women traveling across country and I felt perfectly comfortable at The Rest Area. Here's the only thing I could think of as I pondered the reviews I'd read (and gave me pause for booking here). As you're driving to his property there are a lot of schwanky, schwanky homes. Like WOW kinds of homes on huge properties. If you're thinking that Damon's going to offer you a corner spot on his multi-million dollar estate, it's not that. You're clearly driving past new(ish??) construction where those with the means have purchased property (or a custom-home builder bought land and subdivided) and built their homes...continue on down the road and you'll find more modest homes, smaller land parcels. This doesn't mean that what is offered at Damon's place is subpar, at all. It's just the contrast might influence some to rate it lower. That's the only thing I can figure out. Either that? Or Damon's been doing some mean housecleaning, so to speak! Either way...five stars from me!

The space met our needs for a spot to spend the night. As soon as we arrived Damon brought us an extension cord to hook up to power and a hose for water. We don’t have air conditioning and weather had been rainy prior to our visit so it was pretty steamy with just our fans.

We had a fine experience. It was peaceful and quiet. We had a fine place to park and enjoy the evening. We did not meet Damon that evening. It may not be for everyone as the property could use a little cleaning up but it did not affect our stay.

Pondside Camping Great for Birders!

My friend and I had such a nice time at Damon’s campsite! Waking up right next to the pond was so peaceful, and as birders we were stoked to see a green heron across the pond and to wake up to the songs of prothonotary warblers and Carolina wrens! Maybe it’s because of the time of year, but the mosquitoes weren’t as issue at all! We also got to meet the sweetest white cat who we nicknamed Little Egret <3. The drive to Damon’s property was beautiful, passing through a town where we got Starbucks the next morning, past mega mansions (gorgeous to look at but we feel for everyone else who have lived there since before the sprawl), and through scenic country roads with to die for cottages and cabins! Definitely would stay there again on my next road trip!
