This camp ground was very beautiful and has a lot to offer. My only complaints were that the bathrooms and shower they offered were gross and not well taken care and you had two buy their firewood which wasn’t the best. Also if the others campsites had people the. We would have been on top of each other. But the place itself is really pretty and the river is very clear and clean and would be great to go tubing or swimming in the summer. Also there seems to be a decent amount of trails you could hike if you wanted to.

Loved this site. Very easy to get to with a hybrid camper. The 4 wheeler trails were fun and any issues that we had were resolved very quickly. Peaceful site right next to Barren River!

This is our fourth or fifth time staying at The Slab, and it is still amazing, even though there was a lot of flood debris around from the recent floods.
You can still find a place to camp (they advised us we can camp anywhere on the farm), but we still chose a place on the riverbank. I am looking forward to our next visit.

This was out third trip to The Slab and we had another great stay by the creek. Our new highlight was seeing a river otter climb on shore across from our camp and roll around in the dirt for 10 mins.
That said, one thing we feel we should note is that sadly many of the creek side sites have been impacted by what appears to have been some major flooding. All of the sites are technically still there, but many are covered in flood debris along the trees. The least impacted seemed to be sites 1-5 and some in the 30's. Other sites are still usable if you don't mind the debris. Carrie was kind enough to let us set camp wherever we wanted as we were the only ones there this weekend. I believe we ended up staying at would have been 03 Creak (none of the sites were marked).

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful riverside campsite! The location was peaceful and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The hosts were incredibly kind and accommodating—Kent even went out of his way to bring us a lighter when ours gave out. The site was well-maintained, and we loved falling asleep to the sounds of the river. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great camping experience with thoughtful hosts!

Stayed here on multiple hunting trips. Great place to camp and take a shower! Carrie was super helpful and accommodating! One of the trips I was up they had a band and delicious food truck!

The camp site was expansive and fine. At check in I was recommended a better site than what I could see in HipCamp, so I appreciated that. The site had level areas for tents. The creek sounded nice and was accessible to enjoy. The reason I would not recommend this site: The porta potty was absolutely disgusting. I was required to give a donation for an event I was not going to attend. During the night there was a truck with a very loud engine revving up and down the hills. Another camp had a lot of people coming and going all night long. Not sure if there is any security or monitors to eliminate those scenarios. I left after one night because of all those negatives.

I took my kids here for couple of nights, and we absolutely loved every minute of it. Clean camp site, right by the river, quiet, peaceful, beautiful, and we felt safe the entire time. The camp was kid friendly, and Carrie was a wonderful host. We will definitely be back.

This was our second stay at The Slab. We stay at 5 Creek, our perfect spot with plenty of trees to hang multiple hammocks next to the river. Distance is reasonable from Nashville for a quick overnight.

We enjoyed our stay at the treehouse on the river and Carrie was friendly and helpful.
We had an especially late arrival due to some airline baggage issues and she was able to accommodate that without and concern. She even had someone guide us down to our site, as it could be hard to find for the first time in the dark.
The treehouse is really just a small cabin on stilts, and we knew that coming in from the photos. It was sturdy and had a nice balcony overlooking the river. The mattress was a basic from mattress and was adequate. You need to BYO bed linens and we knew this coming in. You'll also want to make sure to bring flashlights and headlamps, as there's no power. It's not perfectly sealed, so expect some bugs. As described in the listing, the ceiling height is low.
One thing we brought that proved extremely useful was a rechargeable hanging fan and power bank. The fan helped a lot with airflow and keeping it cool on hot days.
We did the river float and had a great time. It's a nice scenic lazy river and they pick you up at the end, so you don't have to walk.
The main shed at the top of the hill has the office, a stage for music nights, some games and pool tables, and a shower. It's not really walkable from the treehouse or any other sites, so you'll need to drive up there to visit or shower. The games weren't in great shape, e.g. bowed air hockey table and unlevel pool tables.
Overall, a nice rustic camping experience in a beautiful area.

Absolutely stunning property with natural clearing tent/rv places. Very clean, hardly any litter. Good signage and very responsive property management/host. Truly diverse flora and fauna. There was a pawpaw tree in our camp site and we heard at least 10 different birds plus a very excited group of coyotes passing through across the creek over night. Can’t wait to come back from a longer stay with the kids.

Nice location, water is great. Portapottie in the camp area needs updating, preferably a better building situation overall that is cleaner. Had to drive to showers and to any running water, this should be closer to camp area.

I would’ve liked a map of the property or host to guide me back to site.
She met me at office, we loaded firewood, It was dusk and I told her I don’t drive at night. I was supposed to be at site 35, but it ends at 34. She said turn there and go here. I drove a bit down the gravel road and never saw a 35.
I slept in 34 for the night, walked my dog in the morning and still never saw a 35. I contacted host and never heard back. Drove my 400 miles back home disappointed.
Host has never contacted me.

Fantastic stay at The Slab. Beautiful spot directly on the river, large area in the shade to park our vehicle at the campsite. You can hear cars on Bugtussle Road, but it’s not that busy of a road. Highly recommend.

What a fun and relaxing weekend! This was our first time to the Slab to camp and float. Camp sites are clearly marked. Host was accommodating and answered all questions/recommendations. Just what we needed for a getaway.

We enjoyed our night tent camping at site 24. It was quiet and relaxing. The ground wasn't very flat so it was difficult to find an area for our 10 person tent. A smaller tent would have probably been easier. We really enjoyed entering the water directly from our site (just make sure you have water shoes as it is rocky).
