The historic mining town of Sunshine is located about 25 minutes from downtown Boulder up a winding mountain road. On the way to our place you'll pass the stone schoolhouse, log cabins, and old mines. In recent times, folks have built new houses to enjoy the views of the high country and sunny weather. After the 2010 Four Mile Canyon Fire, our area suffered the loss of many homes and you'll see rebuilding as well as areas with scorched trees. We are located at the boundary of the fire area and seeing the wildflowers and wildlife come back into the burn areas is hopeful and beautiful. If you continue up hill on the main Sunshine Canyon Drive you'll reach Gold Hill which features a bar and restaurant. The road continues on to Ward and the Peak to Peak.

    Boulder Foothills Apartment
    We are finally back in Michigan after 2 weeks in Colorado and must say that staying at Mindy's was one of our highlights. It's a adventure just getting up there with beautiful views and hiking spots along the way. Once there, the view is spectacular and the space is amazing. Very clean, organized and well thought out. The bed was exceedingly comfortable particularly after a day of hiking. My daughter and I had a great time exploring the area while using the Foothills Apt as a home base. Mindy and Ben were very helpful and knowledgable on things to do and see and helped us out when we had a particular need. I would highly recommend staying here.

    Boulder Foothills Apartment
    This little apartment is absolutely wonderful and a perfect little getaway. It is bright and welcoming and had everything we needed. The bedroom is super cosy and the view from the bed is incredible, a perfect place to enjoy a lazy morning in bed taking it in. There are also a lot of options to get out and hike right out the front door, or you take a short drive into downtown Boulder or head further up into the mountains for more hiking and mountain town adventures in Gold Hill, Nederland or Jamestown. Mindy and family are also very lovely and welcoming. Very much in enjoyed meeting them. I Deffently recommend staying here.
