Description

Whether you preferred to “caulk the wagon and float” or “ford the river,” you’ll love camping at Stump Creek Guard Station even if you didn’t play Oregon Trail as a kid and have no idea what we’re talking about. This camping cabin is located along what was once the Lander Cutoff for the Oregon Trail and you can still see wagon ruts cut into the soil where the settlers passed through over 150 years ago. Look up from the ground and enjoy the views of the scenic mountain valley spotted with pines and stands of willow that line Stump Creek, which runs right by the cabin. For adventure, snowmobile your way in during the winter. Whenever you come, bring lots of supplies for a comfortable stay.
