Tips for Snagging a Campsite Reservation
- Make your plans early to reserve a campsite in Herald Provincial Park. You can reserve campsites two months to the date of your arrival, beginning in March.

When to Go
Herald Provincial Park is very busy during the summer months of July and August and into the fall months. Shuswap Lake is a summer holiday mecca, so the lake can get a lot of boat traffic. In winter, the campground is closed but the day-use area and trails are open to the public.
Know Before You Go
- Herald Provincial Park has 128 reservable campsites, many with lake views.
- Herald doesn’t have wifi, but cell phone service is strong.
- The park has a large adventure playground in the day-use area.
- Campfires are permitted and firepits are provided at each campsite. Park operators encourage visitors to conserve wood and protect the environment by minimizing the use of fires and bringing a portable stove for cooking instead.
