Overview

About

South Esther Island State Marine Park is perfect for fishing enthusiasts and explorers of all kinds! The park is on the southern end of Esther Island and includes Lake Bay, home to one of the world’s largest fish hatcheries. This is a great park for fishing, but be careful not to disturb the operations at Wally H. Noerenberg Fish Hatchery. You might spot some black bear here during the height of the fish run. The park also includes the pristine and undisturbed Quillian Bay. Hike along the eastern edge of the lagoon and through a low, forested pass to scenic Esther Lake. It’s too wet and uneven to camp at the lake, but really beautiful. There are incredible scenic views from Esther Falls Overlook, and it’s easily accessible. Bring your camera and make us jealous with your best photos.
