Sandy and Jerry were excellent hosts and their property is beautiful! The setting along the river is very peaceful. Water on one side and mountains all around. They were very accommodating and had plenty of local suggestions. We were greeted upon our arrival and offered a hand with anything we needed. Very flexible with where we could park in the yard. Even offered use of their bathroom if we needed to. This was our first time using hipcamp and I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks Sandy and Jerry for all of your wonderful hospitality!!

Weekend Trip to Elk River Camp At Wolfe Meadows
Great glamping site situated close enough to downtown Red Lodge for a bite to eat, yet just far enough away to enjoy the quietude and dark skies at night. Appreciated the easy communication with Cyndi and Brad as well. Would stay here again!

We had a lovely couple of nights at this property. The cabin was clean & comfortable with quiet surroundings. The yard is beautiful & spacious, perfect for our dogs to roam about. The kitchen is well equipped, and we were very grateful for the opportunity to do laundry. Proximity to both the mountains & the canyon was a huge perk.

When we arrived the setting was more than we could have hoped for -riverfront, serene and relaxing. The family labs were an additional perk!
Sandy and Jerry were welcoming hosts, shared their love for the area and told us so much about the local history.
Location was great for easy drive to Yellowstone and Cody Wyoming.
The reservation process was smooth and owner responsive to all questions. A "10 out of 10" for sure!

We loved full hookup camping at riverside private campsite! Utilities are positioned so RV can be oriented to site along side and facing river. Had 3 bars on phone service. We traveled 30 minutes to visit Cody one day, 25 minutes another day to visit Red Lodge, and also took the scenic Beartooth and Chief Joseph scenic highways. Roads are very easy and fast to drive to areas noted. This campsite was absolutely beautiful with the friendliest, amazing hosts. They are so willing to provide information etc… or leave you to yourself if you want. We loved visiting with them and will absolutely be back. They do work during day. It looks like you are close to house but site is very private. There are pig races down the road at the Bearcreek steak house (15 minute drive). We saw lots of birds on the river and the hosts say fishing is amazing.

Sandy truly welcomes you into her property. The camping area is in a large field behind her house, where she has set up electric and water hook ups. We did not need them because we were tent camping but it was nice to have available. Add in that her property is bordered by a beautiful small river and you get views galore! Plus she has three Labradors who are her co-hosts, roaming the property and making you feel like you are part of their family. She has a full bathroom just inside the house that she makes available to you, there is a small BBQ bar type fridge on the back patio to store some of your items - what more could you need?? Sandy is very accommodating with local tips and really makes you feel like anything you might need, just ask! It is between two entrances to Yellowstone but due to our ignorance, we did not really investigate *how close* Yellowstone really is to Sandy's camp. It is about a 3 hour drive to the park entrance via the southerly Cody WY entrance and 2 - 2 1/2 hours via the Beartooth Hwy entrance (going through Red Lodge to take the entire Beartooth Hwy is more beautiful but will be the longer route). Sandy truly makes you feel like a guest when you stay with her so don't miss the opportunity to visit if you can!

I really enjoyed my car camping stay at Sandy’s. She is a great host and very responsive with communications. The site is secluded and relaxing with the river near by. I had some bad weather move in but would love be to return the n hopes of better weather to enjoy the location!
