Just south of its older brother, this land spans Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho, and is a crucial spot for supporting caribou populations. None of the animals here are bashful: bison, moose, deer, mountain lions, falcons, elk, and even black bears abound! Beautiful to snap shot from a distance. Just south of the forest, Bear Lake is a fun spot to take a dip after you hike one of Caribou’s dozens of peaks (Mead Peak and Hawks Peak have gorgeous views, as does Big Elk Mountain at the northern tip of the park). At the south end, you’ll find campgrounds, fast flowing creeks, and the Minnetonka Cave at St. Charles Canyon. This is a site to see, but it stays 40 degrees down there all year so be sure to pack a coat, even if you’re sweating above ground. When you’re done, stop in the charming small town of Montpelier, surrounded by rolling hills and full of retro grocers and kitschy eateries. Yum!

We were here two years ago and made a point to come back. Nice location for going off road in a jeep or 4-wheeler. Restaurant menu was limited but what they had was very good. The bartender, Edmund, was efficient, polite and nice to chat with. We will be back when we pass through again.

We stayed next to the snake river, which was absolutely amazing. These are swift waters so definitely beware. Everything was absolutely lovely at this venue for our one night stay at our camper van. Fire pits and grills are easily accessible and ready to go. The space was clean and well kept. You can hear the road nearby was probably the only noticeable thing that we would consider next time however we would come back to this location for sure

What a location !! The place is excellent and Mike makes you feel at home, he goes out of his way to help you and makes you feels welcome Excellent bed in our tent and very clean. Being next to the snake river is a unique experience. Very clean and very good bed. We stayed in a canvas tent.

Most affordable camping within a reasonable distance of Grand Teton. Power hookups were great. Spots are a bit narrow but the place does not seem to be crowded generally so it's unlikely you'll have a neighbor on either side. Showers were great.

The road directly leading to the river is a bit narrow and I was unsure at first about driving down it, but wow — was I amazed by the view before me. I parked my car right on the river and marveled til sunset. The shower is open concept, which was so peaceful, and restrooms are close by. Some of the other sites were a bit noisy, but visually each site is quite private.

We arrived late at night so we didn’t get to enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. Waking up to it though brought a pang of contentment. The quietly gushing river serenaded us as we prepared breakfast. It brought a soothing feeling as we started our day. The tree house, the teepees and the cabins are beautiful and all situated distantly from each other to provide enough privacy. The tent site, where we pitched one tent, was quite spacious. Every site had a fire pit/ stand-alone charcoal grill/ bench (table with 2chairs) and firewood. There’s even one full set to enjoy privately by the ‘look-out’ for a romantic time while grilling/ sipping wine 3 steps away from the river. Port-o-potty on site. The outdoors wooden structure shower stall had hot water. The instructions to find our site was accurate and we had no problem finding it in even the dark. It’s a serene-among-the-trees-and-clear-water-river piece of heaven. I would recommend it any season. PS. If I may say, this is by far the cleanest port-o-potty experience I’ve ever had. Uhummm

This unique slice of property was perfect for our needs. There is good 30 amp electric service at every rv site. Water available to fill your tank. No sewer hook up but I found a few dump stations not far away. The Hoback River is your backyard and the Tetons are so very close. It is just past a beautiful canyon and had a cool looking restaurant on property. I unfortunately did not get to eat there due to other obligations in my short stay. There is laundry facilities available and a restroom with showers in the main building. The sites are gravel and since snow season just ended the gravel was a little uneven but with hardly no effort I was balanced. It was so very peaceful. Ian and his wife were great at communicating. A beautiful 35 minute drive to Jackson where all the hustle and bustle is but here you can relax.
