Enjoy a stay at our rustic log cabins nestled 1/2 mile back from our residence in the peaceful woods of our family's 160-acre 5th generation farm. Summertime here is filled with long days of daylight to participate in various activities, or just hang out in the hammock. The warm evenings bring out fire flies, owls hooting, and stargazing while sitting around the campfire. The fall is a very special time of year here with the maples and oaks changing colors. There are two log cabins, one of which doubles as a place to cook maple syrup in the spring, a pavilion, and an odor-free "outhouse". We will only rent to one group at a time, you'll just have to choose which cabin site(s) you want. The group limit is 9 people.
Hike the trails meandering through our woods, sit around the large campfire, take a relaxing nap in the hammock, watch sunset down one of the trails, or the many activities of hiking and mountain/fat tire biking groomed trails at nearby Levis/Trow Mound (our favorite), fishing, kayaking, horse trail rides, and The Highground Veterans Memorial Park (a must-see) is a mile up the road. The pavilion has a large log picnic table, Blackstone griddle, a charcoal grill, and refrigerator/freezer. The pavilion and Sugar Shack cabin have solar power. The Sugar Shack has a small gas stove and oven. The Cozy Cabin does not have solar power yet. All rentals include use of the pavilion and "outhouse". New in 2026 - outdoor shower with heated water.
There is no WiFi but good cell phone service. Bedding is furnished for cabin stays. Wood and charcoal are furnished. Extra lawn chairs available. We have cornhole available and other yard games for use. All you really need to bring is food, beverages, towels & favorite book or game.
We welcome your furry friends, but no more than 2 dogs. There is a $25 pet cleaning fee under extras. This $25 fee covers 2 dogs. We politely request no children under 7 in cabins, and then all children over 7 supervised at all times while in cabins.
2 night minimum; 3 night minimum on holiday weekends such as Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend, and 4th of July if it lands on a Friday or Monday.
Neillsville is located just 2 hours from St. Paul, MN; 2 1/2 hours from Madison; 2 1/2 hours from Green Bay.

We had a great weekend. The site was so beautiful, surrounded by trees and trails and nobody else on the site with us, so we felt like we were able to enjoy our time in seclusion, even though we weren't more than maybe half a mile from the hosts. The buildings were well crafted and comfortable. The only thing that we forgot to bring were towels (oops!) but other than that small mistake on our part, everything else that we needed was easily available. Would definitely recommend this site to anyone looking for a nice little getaway weekend. Would be great for a family group or just a couple.

Weekend Trip to Rustic Log Cabin Retreat
We stayed 3 nights in one of these rustic cabins and had an amazing experience. Tucked behind the hosts’ farm, the cabins offer a peaceful, private getaway surrounded by nature. The hosts built everything themselves using materials from the property, which makes the cabins feel extra special and unique.
The hosts were incredibly friendly and thoughtful, checking in before our stay and showing us how everything worked when we arrived. They also shared great local recommendations. The cabins are pet friendly too, allowing up to 2 dogs.
This place is the perfect mix of rustic camping and cozy glamping, with hiking trails, beautiful scenery, a hammock, fire pit, solar lights, and even a welcome s’mores kit and a sample bottle of maple syrup they make. Everything you need is provided while still feeling like a true escape. Relaxing, beautiful, and unforgettable — we can’t wait to come back.

We booked a cabin here to break up a long road trip, and couldn't be happier with our stay. Jeff was friendly and accommodating, even working with us on a late arrival time. If you want to unwind in a whimsical cabin with an off grid experience, this is the place. We enjoyed sitting, reading and playing games by the big windows looking out into woods. At night it's a place where the stars shine bright, and the world is quiet and calm. We thoroughly enjoyed the wood burning stove. We used it to cook leisurely breakfasts, and later winter stew. Hosts are helpful, and kind. All the little touches, from overall ambience, to the binoculars, games and books, made it the cozy extended weekend we were looking for. We would have loved to stay longer. That will be next time...

Fisher Cat Creek was a great spot to relax and disconnect. Thank you to David and Veronica for the hospitality, the cabin was very comfortable and cozy. Everything was very clean and ready to go (having a little dog that sticks his little nose on everything we appreciate how tidy everything was). We had a couple of rainy nights but there was plenty of dry firewood to cook on the stove inside. We spent a lot of time reading on the couch with the sound of the rain and Archie had a great time while we explored the surrounding woods, definitely recommend going on a hike!!
David and Veronica have thought of everything we could have needed, kitchen has literally all the utensils, beds were clean and comfy, plenty of firewood and drinking water, T.P., BBQ setup, lots of books and boardgames, plus the long dog tie out leash already set up was perfect! It was so comfortable we could have stayed way longer. What a cool place, very thoughtfully designed and built! Can’t wait to come back some other time!

The cabin at Fisher Cat Creek was absolutely precious for a solo retreat. The design of it was so beautifully done in every aspect. Water, blankets, and utensils are provided, which was awesome! My favorite amenity, though, was the egg-shaped porch swing (Second only to the library of books to choose from). My trip made for an excellent couple days of pure relaxation and reading/writing while the rain poured down. I stayed cozy and felt like I could give my brain a break from daily life. Veronica and Dave’s Cabin was so aesthetically pleasing and cozy to live in for a few days. They were extremely hospitable and friendly upon arrival.
We were there in late January during some cold weather, and even in negative temps at some points, but the wood stove heated the cabin well.
We feel very relaxed after this trip, and we would certainly recommend it to people that love nature and living simply.

We loved this little cabin so much that we booked a summer stay on the drive home! The details are amazing and you can tell the owners put a lot of love and care into the space. The sauna was lovely, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen is pretty well equipped - we can’t wait to be back. Note that there is no electricity at this site, but plenty of lanterns / solar lights are provided. A headlamp helps!
