Property was owned by my great grandfather , He lost 150 acres in the early 1900's due to a bad debt from neighboring landowner. Was so happy to be able to repurchase the 150 acres back in 2016,now own the original land tract and added more. 250 acres in total. Portions were strip mined around 1978-1982 creating some flat fields and access to all property. I might add that strip mining if done properly can and does enhance the property. Ponds were built to catch runoff and several new animal species moved in waterfowl ,muskrats, and beavers. The beavers have constructed large dams on property further adding to the beauty. All of our tiny houses are completely self contained and on grid with full electricity and running water. ***Please note*** Even though they can sleep up to 4 people, it may be cramped inside with that many.**** Please note the tiny house is 18' X 8'. ***IN THE EARLY SPRING AND AGAIN IN THE FALL UNTIL END OF OCTOBER**There is a space heater and also a wall heater. Please note that these may not warm up to 80 degrees or more*** ***PLEASE NOTE****The couch on the first floor has 3 sections that are stacked and are made out of a regular 8 " memory foam , full size bed mattress. The mattress was cut into 3 sections and each section covered. This can sleep 2 people but please note it is a full size mattress, not a queen size. The full bathroom has a shower, toilet, and sink. We include towels, toilet paper, and hand soap. Usually the towel sets are underneath the bathroom sinks. You will have access to the laundry building where washers and dryers are free to use. Kitchenette has a kitchen sink with running water, mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave and a hot plate. We include a Mr Coffee type coffee maker, filters, coffee and styrofoam coffee cups. We have one pot, one pan (which are specific to the hot plate), paper plates, paper bowls, plastic ware -knives, forks, and spoons, & plastic cups. We also provide liquid dish soap and paper towels. There is a television but no satellite, cable or local stations. Feel free to bring your own DVD player, games, etc. and cords. We do not supply cords for your devices. **Please Note** There is NO wifi. The entire New River Gorge area does not have a good service provider yet. Cell service in our area is usually very good for most carriers, as we are high up and off the main highway. Your cellular hot spot should work very well. Outside the tiny house, there is a picnic table and fire ring that you’re able to use to cook and push aside the grate later to sit around a fire. Firewood is for sale for $5 per bundle if you call the phone # on the door. They will deliver it in a short period of time. You may want to bring lawn chairs as I do not supply them. Also any outdoor cooking utensils would be good to bring as well. Love playing games? This is the place for you! Weekend Trip to Olde Tyme Cabins

The location was perfect! We felt secluded in our little camp and were able to hike up the hillside nearby. We loved the campfire with the lights strung around, and there were roasting sticks in one of the RV cubbies. The hot tub was amazing. We did get rained out of the hot tub, since there is no awning over it, but once the rain stopped, we were able to enjoy again. The master bed was comfortable, and the bunk beds have a curtain to keep lights out for later sleepers. We camped in mid-November and stayed warm and cozy the whole time. Our only complaint was the water. It never quite worked well enough to shower, and washing dishes was frustrating. We did let our hosts know, and they came quickly to work on it, which helped for a short while, but didn't last the duration.

Great place to stop on our way to New River Gorge. Bathrooms were clean, access to cabins was easy, and a basic cabin for just for sleeping for us! Would stop at Ray’s again!

So calming and a good place to sleep! We were just spending the night but would be a great place to spend a weekend. Sweet cats greet you, also ducks and chickens. Fridge, microwave, and coffee pot available. Enclosed bathroom with shower and toilet inside. Great little diner down the road! Just be advised there is no signal there or the surrounding area. The wifi works well for the TV but not great for cellphones.

I'll just get these 2 negative things out of the way so someone else doesn't stay and give a bad review. Because it doesn't deserve a bad review, The place is Amazing, However if you're a light sleeper then a windy Autumn stay probably isn't for you because the leaves land on and slide down the roof and sides and its rather loud. Also something randomly flaps around on the roof in high winds making alota noise, The bed is super cozy, The place is very private and is just a relaxing environment to be in. Me and my Dog would stay again (Not in the Autumn 🤣)

The A-Frame at Ray's Campground was absolutely perfect - rustic, beautiful surroundings, and removed from noise. The design and furnishings were simple yet more than enough for someone who is out hiking and exploring.

We stayed at Papa's place cabin. It was simple but clean and the campground office space was nice to watch a show or make some food. We only stayed one night but it worked well for us! The cabin had one outlet for a light and a fan and a heater which was nice heating it up a little in October. 🙂

Weekend Trip to Camp Holly

My friends and I had a great time at Cabin 3! The hosts were quick to respond to our inquiries, and the staff were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin can comfortably fit more than four people and still has plenty of space to move around. Both the indoor and outdoor bathrooms were clean. It’s the best place to relax, unwind, and enjoy good company. Highly recommend!

Amazing spot John was very welcoming the entire time we felt at home. There’s 250 acres of nothing but stunning views. There’s a ton of stuff to do right there skeet shooting a cute little putting green there are five ponds perfect for fishing. The little touches aren’t to be missed either the cute on site shower house with laundry *chefs kiss the bird houses the cute I assume from family named roads and alleys even a 55 miles according an hours sign…. If you’re looking for a place to get away and forget the world this is the place!!!! 10 out of 10 recommend

Weekend Trip to Shady Retreat

I have been a Hipcamper for a few years and Lynn has been my best host by far! She is very friendly, inviting and informative! She will invite you into her home and treat you like family from the go. Get ready to also meet some cute cats! She has put her heart and soul into providing a cool, safe and natural environment. The tree house and amenities are well planned out. There was a tour given upon arrival of the grounds and specifics of the tree house. Lynn has plenty of suggestions on how to enjoy Bridge Day and the area in general.

Weekend Trip to The Yew Mountain Center

My wife and I had a wonderful time camping at the Yew Mountain Center at their Cattail campsite. Gorgeous site right alongside the pond. Stocked with PLENTY of firewood. The lodge was available for cooking/relaxing and the heated full baths came with towels! This was all really a luxury to us since we are used to state/national parks without these included amenities. They only have a few sites so they are very private and well taken care of.

Ray’s was a nice campground. The bathroom and showers were clean. The A frame was super secluded. Loved being able to lift the door to the A frame and enjoy the breeze.
