If you love privacy, nature, wildlife, and fresh air, you will love Deer Park Mountain View RV Campsite. Our property is 17 acres of mostly unimproved land. There are open meadows, forested areas, and a trail that circles the property. Find the beginning of the wood-chip trail near the campsite and follow it through the trees. The trail comes out near the house. Enjoy the view and take care near the cliff. The campsite is in a small open meadow surrounded by trees on three sides and with a view to the south toward the Olympic mountains. We have only one campsite. You will be very private with no other campers nearby. Electrical, water, and sewer hookups are provided. NOTE: There are no bathroom facilities for tent campers. SEWER HOOKUP NOTE: Sewer hookup is on the driver's side of the vehicle if you pull in forward. If you pull all the way forwards the sewer hookup will be 24' behind the front tire. There is no turnaround and you cannot drive off the front of the pad. The hookup is raised about 2 feet off the ground to enable gravity feed. After a few nights of camping in the rain Tyson’s Hipcamp was just the reprieve we were looking for! The property was easy to access, had plenty of amenities, and Tyson even had a fire going for us when we got there! Tyson was super helpful and easy to communicate with. We would absolutely stay here again!

Van camping in the Nook at Elwha was quiet and peaceful! The hosts were super accommodating of my last minute vehicle change and helped me find a place that would fit a large campervan. The bathroom was warm, which was perfect for showering after a week on the road, but also a bit far from my campsite (an oversight on my part). I’m not sure if this is normal, but both porta-jons near me were locked- didn’t have a chance to ask the hosts about it since I was mostly away during operating hours. Having WiFi was a nice surprise, which helped me stay in the loop about events planned at the fungi festival. Overall, Very nice amenities and hosts!

We tent camped on site T18. The signage was amazing and we never felt lost, unlike at some other HipCamps we have been to. The facilities were clean, showers hot. Plus, our car battery died and the owners came out and helped us at 6 in the morning, which just shows what good people are running this place. 10/10 would recommend and definitely plan on coming back next year!

4 nights at Wandering Joy Campground

We stayed at Wandering Joy for 4 nights, and I am so glad we did! Erin was so nice, came and chatted with us and shared information about the land. The campground was easy to find, and very close to Lake Crescent. The campsites are cozy and just the right size for 2 people. The porta potties were spotless, and the campground was quiet and peaceful. We saw little critters and stargazed, followed a trail in camp through an old growth forest, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you Erin!

It’s absolutely perfect. The in a beautiful area, clean campgrounds, and the cleanest porta potty’s I’ve ever used ! It’s about 10 mins from the absolutely amazing and beautiful Crescent Lake and about 30 mins from town if you need any last minute supplies, but there is also a General store directly next to the campground. The sites are perfect, wonderful area for your tent(s) and equipped with a picnic table and fire pit!! I absolutely cannot wait to stay here again.

Sites 0 and 1 are great! Site 0 has a covered wood tent platform. Site 1 is the largest site, with room for 2 tents. The wood shaving tent pads are terrific. The porta potties are immaculate. There is a small market just past the entry to Wandering Joy from 101. We enjoyed the proximity to Lake Crecent and swam there every afternoon The only downsides to Wandering Joy are: No potable water and noise from nearby hwy 101.

Tyson was an excellent host and went out of his way to accommodate us. The property and site were in great condition, and the communal cooking area was enjoyable to use. The composting toilet setup was one of the nicest I’ve used. Overall I’d definitely recommend this site!

Weekend Trip to Deer Park Mountain View RV Campsite

As described and met our needs. We are close enough to many hiking trails - loved the backyard trail for a quick dog walk. The neighbors were quiet. Even the dogs mentioned in previous reviews were scarce - only saw one and it kept its distance. We did not get to meet Susan, but did meet many deer and the chickens. The only cons (and these are mentioned in the description) are the hook ups are on the oppsote side. A 25 ft water hose, 25 ft electric (50amp connection) and 30ft sewer connection worked. The sewer connection sits high making it difficult to manage easily. It may be more convenient to pay and use a station I.E. state park. Our stay was a short three days, it would not be an inconvenience to dump elsewhere. Actually would have been easier to do so. We would definitely stay here again. We had a lovely time. We had a wonderful time camping at Tyson’s! The site has a communal kitchen, picnic table, and fire ring. Even with another party camping, it was easy to share the amenities without any issues. The kitchen is well equipped with a sink, a gas stove and a Blackstone, though you’ll want to bring your own pots and pans. We were pleasantly surprised by the shower—the hot water and water pressure were excellent. Everything was clean and well maintained, and there’s both potable and non-potable water available.

We had a fantastic stay at site 6 and would love to come back! Erin was so welcoming and friendly and puts sooo much love and care into the campsites and forest. The porta potties were also the cleanest I've every used! The sites all have beautiful thick foliage around them so feel private. I was a tiny bit concerned that the sites looked close to the main road on the map but the sites are set back enough and really feel in the woods that we didn't notice traffic noise at all. We loved our stay so much and highly recommend Wandering Joy!

Found one of my new fav camping spots! Will def be making my way back here at least once every camping season. I was lucky to bump into Erin and chat about the campgrounds and she shared about how intentional they are with the sites and the impact they’re making in the area. She also left me with the cutest souvenir! I felt well informed so that I was prepared for my trip and have never felt so safe while solo camping. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic experience here! When we arrived, we were greeted by Tyson and one of his kids, both of whom were so welcoming. The property had everything we needed for our stay, and everything was within such close proximity to our site. Highly recommend staying here!
