Beneath the pavilion: There is one large wood burning grill suitable for cooking food, one belly stove for ambience/heat and 3 fire rings to build your own fire. Firewood is provided upon request. There are no designated parking spots for now. Feel free to park wherever suits. Potable water is in the barn along with a flush toilet. One 30A outlet is located on the side of the barn inside the paddock next to the horse washing station. Other outlets are located inside the barn, outside the hay barn and run-in sheds; also, on the other side of the barn outside the paddock. From the flat land at the bottom to the top of the mountain, this is a place where you can find a spot to sit and think, draw, paint, nap, or identify over 30 medicinal plants in their natural habitats (absolutely NO harvesting of medicinals or wildflowers!). Listen to the many birds, spot the wildflowers. Some areas are accessible by wheelchair, while others are not, but all areas offer something to sustain your spirit. If you feel the need to explore the area, you are within walking distance of NotaViva Farm Brewery and Winery, 15 dirt road minutes from the new Sweet Run State Park one direction and Breaux Vineyard in the other direction. I wanted to find a secluded spot to rest & spend some time in nature with my dog Olivia. This cabin was lovely with a large rocky backyard that my dog loved climbing around. The location was ideal with lots of trails & parks within a short drive. The cabin has lots of big windows that help take in the excellent view of the mountains. We spent time on the deck and saw deer crossing through the backyard, and later we saw more crossing the front yard. It was very quiet and peaceful. The shower was awesome too. I used the steam shower a few times but the shower alone is really nice & great for relaxing after a hike on a chilly day! We would love to come back to see the area in the warmer months. The cabin was very well heated for hours in 30 degree and below weather. Well stocked with supplies, and Matt was helpful in providing freshly chopped firewood, lighter, and a grill! A big supply of drinking water and coffee. Had a great time having a bonfire the whole night. Porta potty was pretty decent too. Matt seemed like a cool host in general, and gave us great suggestions for hiking! Would recommend to anyone and I would probably hang out with him if he invited us.

My husband, myself, our kids and grandkids all met up at this amazing farm just overnight for a wonderful and rare campfire get together, but wished we had stayed longer. The grandkids loved all the animals but especially Zeus, the big, super sweet dog of the property! The expansive property accommodates RVs well with plenty of space to be private yet camp amongst the animals. Our camp host greeted us, got us set up with power, and told us all about the workings of the farm and all that was available to us on the property. These extras that you don’t normally get at most Hipcamp properties was really cool! A barn with a restroom and gathering area where chili was available the night we were there along with many homemade and local goodies like shortbread cookies, honey, dried lavender sachets and produce for purchase. We happily donated a small amount toward taking care of the rescued animals on the farm. A couple of our kids and their families live in the area so we will definitely be back! Thanks Juanita it was a pleasure!!

This spot was a cute and comfy respite from every day life and had everything we needed. Waking up to the rain surrounded by trees, warm and cozy in bed was such a treat. We definitely plan to return!

pretty property and great for our group! we rented both areas of the camping land, but we all camped at kitchen camp. be aware that cars cannot travel to the other camping area (with the gazebo), which makes loading and unloading more difficult. nice to have basic composting toilet available as well.

Beautiful, peaceful location with an incredibly friendly and responsive host! Getting to say hi to the very friendly dogs and kitten was a definite plus. Plenty of room to set up camp while still being a stone's throw away from the barn with a restroom & running water. All in all a tremendous experience!

7 nights at Camp Comus

Juanita's horse farm has plenty of room for RV and tent campers. I enjoyed the quiet country feel, the animals (her sweet dogs, the ducks and geese and the neighbors horse), and the solitude of walking her trails surrounded by autumn trees. The camp hosts are absolutely fantastic. Friendly, accommodating, and generous. They made me feel like family. The Comus Inn restaurant is a hidden jewel. There are lots of nearby areas to explore, breweries and wineries to sample, and the trails of Sugarloaf mountain are worth your time. I plan to return next year at this time.

Dee was so kind and her land was the perfect place to spend a fall night. Enjoyed bluegrass at the winery across the street in the evening, and awoke the next morning to a beautiful sunrise and deer grazing right outside the car. You can tell the area is rich with wildlife. Well worth the trip and $. :) Thanks Dee!
