My farm had been untouched for years and only used as hay farming. It is rolling hills known by the locals as "Butterfly Hill" Which the farm is home to many species of butterflies in the summer. I know the area was inhabited by native Americans many decades ago. I have found a few broken arrow heads over the years. The farm is beautiful and quiet.

School Bus#23 Bunk House

Original 1930's Chicken House still stands on the property. Rustic Off-Grid Camp sites. No running water or electricity inside the Bus. Just solar and battery powered lighting. Fresh clean water Jugged Water inside the Bus and Outdoor toilet and Solar Shower just steps from the door. Just like tent seams window seals can be leaky during a rain storm.

Nature Freaks Acres

Our beautiful, 13-acre property is the perfect mixture of woods and grassland fields, both with several walking trails to stroll around.

When I moved my family of 7 here from n.e. Ohio 11 years ago we didnt know anyone at all. I am a people person, I love music and I was determined to meet some new friends. So, i decided to build a fire pit and a makeshift stage and have a party! This party was called, Friend Fest, A reason to gather and celebrate the gift of friendship. Our motto: Come as strangers, leave as friends. We were on our 9th Friend Fest until Covid. Over the last few years we have added more amenities to the property. Disc golf, Walking/ hiking trails, fishing, baseball diamond, bonfire pit, 10x14 covered stage, swimming pool, primitive glamping cabin. We also host Nature Education classes on the property. 

We continue to use our property for good by bringing people together and enjoying life, friends and music.

Cabin: $60, Enjoy a walk through our many trails. A fishing pond is right through the woods in easy walking distance. Hanging Rock State park, NC. is a 20 minute drive away! 

Relax and comfortably sleep in our roll away, twin bed in the yard under the stars of the Blue Ridge mtns. or in the cabin. Drift asleep to the sounds of nature. Before you say goodnight, enjoy your dinner and smores over the firepit, (free wood) 

We have a 14X16 covered stage for entertainment, a 10X10 firepit with surrounding benches. If youd like to hire entertainment and need good local recommendations we would be happy to help. The entire entertainment area and campground sits away from any houses in complete privacy from any neighbors. The cabin and campground is 450 feet away from the house. Nighttime is the perfect time to take the stage and show off what ya got. 

Our large firepit  allows you to have an epic bonfire. If you enjoy cooking over hot coals, our built in grill pit is easy and handy to use.

Enjoy all our inspirational and happy quote boards hanging up throughout the property as you take a relaxing walk on our many trails.

Enjoy a game of kickball or wiffleball at our baseball diamond. 

Our camping area even has a small fire ring and benches so you can enjoy a private fire in your own little world back there.

Blue Ridge Yurts is a woman-owned company in Floyd, Virginia, started by my mother, Sharon. We were staying at Treebones, a yurt 'glampground' in Big Sur, California, and fell in love with yurts together. My mom said, "I think I could build one of these," and the company was born!
She does all the woodworking, using sustainable practices, with locally-sourced wood, and her best friend Kathy does the fabric end of things. I was one of her early guinea pigs, and love my yurt property dearly &lt;3 This 24'  yurt sits on a beautiful private acreage off an end-state maintenance road, with biking and hiking trails just a 20 minute drive from the touristy town of Floyd, Virginia. There's a steam shower sauna, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a deck overlooking the mountains with a table and seating. Enjoy!

Rivers Edge Trail Camp

Standing on the New River Trail looking up where the campsites are located will give you the feeling that you truly are sleeping on the edge at Rivers Edge campground.

Unique limestone formations can be found on the property. 

 Large birds and even an eagle or two seem to prefer this area for hunting.

 Watch from a distance as farmers cut hay throughout the summer.

 This private cliff top setting has 6 newly created camp sites on 5 Acres. 

Enjoy less crowds and more nature! The long range views or the river and farmlands will take your breath away.  

At the bottom of the drive you have access to the New River and the New River Trail so bring your bike, or kayak for more fun.  Bike the trail, bird watch, or star gaze; the choices are endless.  Don't be surprised to see bear, turkey, eagles, deer, or a coyote.

 This is a great spot for people looking for peace and quiet.

26 Minutes upriver of Claytor Lake State Park.  There is a zoo in nearby Ft. Chiswell.

 Each site has full hook ups.  No tent sites at the present time.

Area grocery stores are located about 30 minutes away in Wytheville, Pulaski and Hillsville.
