My farm had been untouched for years and only used as hay farming. It is rolling hills known by the locals as "Butterfly Hill" Which the farm is home to many species of butterflies in the summer. I know the area was inhabited by native Americans many decades ago. I have found a few broken arrow heads over the years. The farm is beautiful and quiet. I have a beautiful hiking trail around the property for you to take your fur babies on. The cabin is right on a beautiful stream too. There are several state parks nearby and river tubing within 10 -30 minutes. Hot showers and potable water just a few feet away.The cabin is set on a 28 acre hay farm beside a beautiful creek. The campsite has a fire pit, charcoal grill, and queen bed with sheets and comforter. You also have your own private privy located a 30 second walk from the cabin. You will have fabulous hot water out door showers with electricity to charge your phones while you shower. This is just a couple minutes walk from the cabin. Potable water is available at the shower facility. The Love Shack is in a wooded area that can be explored or just enjoy the relaxation of a quiet farm. There is a beautiful hiking trail that goes through the farm and the wooded area. The Love Shack is very private and secluded. There is hiking,tubing, paddling, and brewery's just a short drive. Rockingham and Stokes county has a lot of fun activities to offer as does the small town of Madison, NC. The Madison Dry Goods store is featured on the Netflix show "28 days haunted". It's worth checking out.Hanging rock state park is about 30 minutes away and Mayo River state park is 15 minutes away.There are 4 rivers in my county that you can kayak and tube. I offer a propane heater for winter. Bring your own fuel for the heater. It's the green small tanks 🙂 You can have wood at the site for an extra charge or you can forage for down wood in the area. Feel free to pick up and burn any wood that's not being used for the camp. Please no cigarette smoking in cabin. If you can't come without your kids there is plenty of room for a tent. fantastic!

I had such a lovely weekend at Wendy’s A-frame! She was kind enough to accommodate a last minute booking and was a great communicator both leading up to and during my stay. I would highly recommend staying here if you need a little getaway by yourself or with 1 or 2 others - even your dog! I suppose if you bring a tent you could accommodate a few more. Some of the things I loved: - Well decorated and lots of love put into the place! -The side opens up so you can relax on the bed out of the heat or rain and enjoy the trees and creek. -The “shack” is the only campsite on the property, so it’s very quiet and secluded! - Showers are brand new and super nice and clean! hot/cold water and lots of space to change and get ready. place to charge electronics outside the showers as well. -Dare I say the nicest outhouse I’ve ever used!? doesn’t smell at all! -You get a little creek all to yourself! My dog loved it. -Little trails all over the property - Wendy left all the essentials: a few snacks, grilling tools, charcoal grill, lantern, fan, games, extra blankets, pots and pans etc. Things you may want to bring yourself: - If you have a dog, bring along a large blanket or old bedspread to put over the bed so you don’t ruin Wendy’s nice bedding. I am so glad I did this as I knew my dog would be in the creek but also want to snooze on the end of the bed! -Towels, toiletries, extra cooking stuff, charcoal, extra battery-powered fan (if you go during hot summer days). 10/10! :)

Mystic Meadow Love Shack

My family and I stayed at Wendy’s love shack and we couldn’t say enough good things about it! It’s beautiful, secluded and peaceful. The perfect location to get away and enjoy the beautiful outdoors without having to sleep in a tent on the ground. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was SUPER clean and the showers are brand new. We would highly recommend this property to our friends and family! Wendy was very kind and friendly, she definitely went above and beyond with this property.

Seclusion, very peaceful and quiet place. Wendy has gone above and beyond to make this place magical and private! She has put a huge amount of her love and heart into every detail of this site and it shows. We are avid campers and have stayed in many other campsites. None compared to this one. The Love Shack, it's showers and outhouse are all very clean, comfortable spaces. Dog friendly, our pups could run and frolic the hiking trail with us. (There is even a bench at the top of the trail for a quiet rest when you come out of the woods!) The tranquility if the creek which runs by the Shacks porch with 2 rocking chairs, the camps firepit with 2 gravity chairs, the picnic table grill area, the swing and the hammock areas are all awesome parts of this site. I highly recommend a visit to this site!

Mystic Meadow Love Shack

Get away to a GREAT GETAWAY! If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet, nature-filled, solitude oasis…then the Love Shack is your destination. Tucked away in the forest on private land, Wendy has created a space for guests to disappear from the busy world and enter a space of tranquility. Nestled beside a creek you can start a fire, listen to the rubbing water and look up at the trees that provide the most perfect shade. I’m not one for naps, but I felt so relaxed upon arriving that I took a nap on the bed (which is super comfortable) with the A-frame open and it was amazing. We also ordered a dozen eggs from Wendy’s chickens and they were delicious- definitely worth a try. It was truly a perfect weekend and a wonderful way to unwind and appreciate the art of doing nothing.

Wish I could keep it a secret

A truly magical place! It was a pleasure for me and my 6yr old daughter to stay and enjoy the solitude and nature! Wendy is an excellent host and let us know there are some great amenities being added to continually increase her gusts comfort!
