Inside the Cabin: Our cozy cabin is thoughtfully designed to provide all the comforts of home. It features warm décor, with new furnishings and a well-equipped kitchen for your cooking needs. Main floor sleeping arrangements are a bedroom with new memory foam queen bed, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Up the loft steps, a twin bed is located in the "Eagles landing", with a new memory foam double bed in the bedroom. Please be aware that the stairs are quite steep and were not designed with railing. We recommend exercising caution when using them, especially for guests with mobility concerns, young children, or those who may be less sure-footed. Your safety and comfort are important to us, so please take care when choosing your sleeping arrangements. There is one bathroom with a shower downstairs, located off the kitchen. A small washer dryer is also available. Please note, these can accommodate only small loads of laundry. You'll find bath towels and smaller towels specifically for drying off after a relaxing soak in the hot tub. We've stocked quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, as well as some basic toiletries in case a guest forgets to bring an item. The queen bedroom also has a Roku TV, and a selection of board games, cards, and some children's activities are available below the TV. Such lovely hosts and the views from their property will set your soul at rest. Everything from the tall trees that embrace the cabin to the beautiful songs of nature. Unfortunately the forecast had my husband and I in house slippers and napping during the entirety of our visit but it was exactly what we needed. The first morning we lost power but Greg was so kind to stop by and offer to pick us up some breakfast as he made his errands and Marsha kept us updated on things until the power was back on. The cabin was so clean with a relief to us as we don’t wear shoes inside and all of the linens, towels, throws etc were all perfectly clean as well. All the amenities were well provided and well thought out. This is the coziest place I’ve stayed through HipCamp and we can’t wait to come back to explore more of the area before snowfall.

Weekend Trip to Halfassery Farm’s Sweet Suite

Lori’s place was lovely! We enjoyed the expansive yard and view of the farm and animals. We made many new animal friends, including chickens, goats, and sweet Bear (the friendly dog). Great place for pets- my dog had the best time. The cottage was cozy and comfortable and just what we needed to relax! Hope to came back soon!

The cabin is so cute! The decor inside is lovely all the little touches and complimentary coffee was so nice. The hot tub was nice and firewood ready at the cabin for campfires. If I had one complaint it would be that I was expecting a little more privacy there’s close neighbors in every direction so just not quite what I was expecting but still room to roam. We walked down to the creek which is so pretty and later watched deer explore the creek too. We would definitely return

The cabin was a perfect getaway weekend for my husband and I (and our dog). It was 20 degrees outside the nights we stayed, but the cabin was warm and cozy with everything we needed. We loved hiking up to the tower and having a campfire at night. The hot tub was the best part! Stone Mountain Park is a short drive away and is one of the best parks in N.C. highly recommend!!

Where to go

Claytor Lake State Park

Sweat on the trails, and then cool off with a swim in Claytor Lake. Reservations are required for tent camping, yurt, waterview cabin, and bunkhouse rentals by the lake, and they’re worth it—electric hookups and picnic areas are available at most on-site campgrounds. Check out private boat rentals at the marina for outings on the water. Anglers can also enjoy the fishing pier, while campers seeking scenery can hike Lakeview Trail for an easy walk by the lake.

Fairy Stone State Park

Known for the rare, tiny “fairy stones'' that fill the red sand, Fairy Stone State Park offers a beautiful destination for hiking, horseback riding, paddleboating, and swimming in the 168-acre lake. Tent camping, equestrian camping, and climate-controlled cabin or yurt rentals allow campers to stay overnight in the park, but cabins don’t include linens. Most campsites include fire rings and electric and water hookups. For a unique souvenir, walk to the Fairy Stone Pit Stop and hunt for fairy stones—each visitor is allowed to collect a few to take home.

Stone Mountain State Park

Just over the North Carolina border lies Stone Mountain State Park, home to the 600-foot national landmark that gives the area its name. Wander along hiking trails for waterfall views, fish for trout in streams, or go horseback riding on one of Stone Mountain’s many bridle trails. Electric and water hookups and a dump station make this park RV-friendly. Group and individual tent camping sites also offer showers and firewood.
