Late check-ins are available. Located on private and rural land 40 mins South of Moab and 40 mins from the entrance of The Needles District of Canyonlands National Park (the hikers paradise park!) Our land borders Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands and State Trust Lands which means you have a panoramic view of the desert landscape and dark skies. We are surrounded by Dark Sky National Parks, State Park, Monuments and communities. Because of this, light population is almost non-existent. The Adventure Haven is a five site mini-RV park located in an old and somewhat derelict subdivision in a small town on a 1.5 acre lot. A uranium boom town in the 1950's, La Sal is now a shadow of past times (and littered with artifact trailers and structures). But we are in beautiful high desert country and we are at the foothills of the La Sal Mountains and the park has a completely unobstructed view of this range! What kind of people LIKE it here? Those who like peace and quiet and dark skies. Thompson Springs began as a railroad stop on the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad in the mid to late 1800's. It soon became a shipping point and community center for local farmers, cattle ranchers and sheepherders. It is now a ghost-town with a population of 50 people. The Desert Moon has a true wild western past. The old dancehall on the property, The Cactus Caberet, once served as the town bar and brothel. We are currently in the process renovating the dancehall into a venue for live music and retreats. There are 8-12 staff members living on site in their personal RV's at all times. We are a small community of artists, builders, and adventurers. We are constantly working to improve this property that came under our ownership in July of 2020. Feel free to come say hello and ask us about what we are building here! Thompson Springs is a true "ghost town" with no retail or restaurants except a 7-11 off the I-70 exit. The towns of Moab and Green River are only a half hour drive away and are full of regional and eclectic restaurants and shops. The Desert Moon is located just four miles from the Sego Canyon Rock Art in the Bookcliffs featuring pictograph and petroglyph panels from three different Native American cultures: Barrier, Fremont, and Ute. Be sure to check them out! There are miles of off-road trails accessible from our property. Some require a 4x4 vehicle or dirtbike, but many are well maintained enough for almost any vehicle.

Weekend Trip to High Sage Hogans

We had such a great stay! The tipi was a really cool and unique camping experience, close enough to Moab to get to everything easily, but far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle of town. It was peaceful, quiet, and exactly what we were looking for. Our favorite part of the trip was definitely Ringo, the sweet dog on the property. He “showed us around” and played with our dog the entire stay. Watching them run and explore together was honestly a highlight. Danny was incredibly kind and hospitable. He checked in on us, made sure we were comfortable, and you can tell he genuinely cares about his guests having a good experience. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Glamping Canyonlands

We have never glamped before staying at Glamping Canyonlands. What a great find through hipcamp! Close but not in the crowds to explore The Needles District. Erik and Keshie’s thoughtful touches and witty humor made the stay fantastic! They really have thought about all the small details needed for a great stay. The ability to cook over fire or use the community kitchen (thankful for the french press), the showers/toilets, hammocks with shaded picnic tables. The kitties and chickens were fun to see and was great reading about their story on how they built Glamping Canyonlands. Stargazing at night and quiet mornings. We can’t wait to come back and bring friends!

Nice and quiet and clean, water pressure is awesome. Don’t know that I would stay mid summer as there are no trees. Otherwise it was a nice spot away from the crowds of Moab.

Great communication from host. I really enjoyed the solitude — I was able to off-road in Moab each day and then enjoy a peaceful camp to unwind. Wi-Fi was a nice bonus as there wasn’t much of a signal for me (Verizon).

This site is Exceptional !!!!! Very Clean and although it might not seem like it on the drive in - very secluded with gorgeous views of the La Sal Mountains. We turned left onto Pearl street when we should have gone straight into the ranch - there is a “Hipcamp” sign - so make sure to look for that! Best overnight spot for us yet! Highly Recommend!!!

Comfortable and safe place for an overnight in my 20-foot van about 30 minutes south of Moab. The electric hookup was great as a big storm front had made it difficult to recharge with solar. The pit toilet was clean and well lit during the night.

RV park 15 mins south of Moab right off highway. Easy to access many trails and sights with a short drive. Full hook ups were great, and the bathrooms/shower house was clean (and an added bonus). It was a bit loud being right off of the highway, but otherwise we enjoyed our stay here

This was a fantastic place to stay. Roomy campsites even for our large toy hauler. Very quiet local with beautiful views of the La Sal mountains. The hosts James and Linda were very friendly and accommodating. 30 minutes from Moab, so away from all the commotion. Great place to stay

This place is so very magical. The host was so very kind and helpful. His place was better than a lot of campgrounds we paid way more money to stay at. Very private and the scenery was amazing. From sunrise to sunset the views changed daily. We will be back when we come this way again and will stay longer. :)

James and Linda were super friendly and available if needed. We got in easy (#3) with our 35' + tow. Ground was flat. W/S/G all good. Easy paved road there and nice gravel last block. RV Garmin took us to house next door but you can see RV park . You want quiet, this was it.
