I was welcomed by friendly goats and lil pig. Since, it was a thanksgiving day - I only saw three people in the area. Our tent was superb! Perfect spot for our camping but unfortunately we have to leave after 3 hours of stay coz my son has an anxiety attack. He just got tired from our previous camp (this is actually our second spot). I believe we need to come back here again soon and explore the area. The communication w the host was great. All the instructions were given clearly and the suggested trail to explore. We really need to come back here again soon.

Weekend Trip to Hideout Ridge
Magnificent place! Secluded and quiet. Lots of trails to walk and find interesting things. Don’t be like me and forget to bring food and a way to cook it if there’s a burn ban because the stores are not exactly a 5 minute trip. We will be back without a doubt!

2 nights at Country Woods Inn
The Santa Fe car is at the edge of a meadow and some woods, with a cluster of other accommodations ranging from campsites, airstreams and a cabin where a hostess cat lives who greets all the guests. She came knocking on our door and stayed with us, to our delight, throughout our stay. And there is no extra charge for vacation kitty!
The train car is cleverly outfitted with all the comforts and everything you need for them: cooking pots and utensils, dinnerware, wine glasses and corkscrew. The hot water is steaming. The small refrigerator was plenty big enough for us and has a freezer shelf with two mini cube ice trays, but for larger groups consider bringing in some ice with you.
The bunk beds are as steady as trees and so roomy under the canopy that only the very tall might have to bend to clear it. For us, it was like a small room. The mattresses are both soft and supportive. A town vendor said the car had been outfitted and adorned for the owner’s grandchildren, and we certainly benefitted from the thoughtfulness, playfulness and considerations that have been lovingly put into it. A small jar is offered for collecting fireflies darting outside. We gladly unplugged with no WiFi or tv signal there, when there were so many books, games and dvds for entertainment. Instead though we opted for star watching, deer spotting, and loving on the petting animals at the main hub. We plan to return often for the rest and rejuvenation we found easily in the woods by the river

We had a great time at the daisy! It is cozy, the surrounding nature is beautiful, and Barry is so welcoming. He set up our fire, and sang/played guitar at our camp spot while our three-year-old danced around. He is genuinely interested in getting to know people. I highly recommend! I know we will be back :) side note – it is not far from Waco and there’s a lot to do there if you’re looking for fun activities!

Absolutely do it. Don't think twice. Private and secluded in a beautiful wildflower meadow. Top notch Saturday morning breakfast. Friendly animals everywhere. Our cabin came with a Fatcat who took an afternoon nap with us. So so beautiful.

I had such a wonderful time visiting this campsite! Barry the host was just wonderful, extremely accommodating and great company. I would recommend a stay here to anyone! My boyfriend and I did a little fishing, some swimming, enjoyed music by campfire but still got to catch the clippers game ;) perfect glamping/getaway destination!

I cannot put into words how magical this place is! Barry was really nice, greeted us upon arrival and then gave us space to venture out and explore the land. He even came out with his guitar and joined us around the campfire with some good tunes (I told him I wanted to hear him play!). Just all around good vibes and will definitely be going back! We enjoyed our getaway.
Barry came out and greeted us, very nice guy and not pushy.
There is a common area for anyone/everyone to hang out in.
He has a crows nest on the top of his house, which he allows people to go up, beautiful view. Definitely go up there.
Lots of cardinals. There might have been other birds also but those are the only ones I saw.
Lots of bluebonnets a few other wild flowers. His landscape looks nice.
It rained part of the time and the few parts that were dirt did Not get muddy. The lake was very close and was nice to look out at. We were very happy about that because it meant we could still go wonder around.
I brought my dog, she enjoyed smelling everything. There were 2 other dogs that were possibly free roam from a neighbor, they were very nice. The male dog loved pets and tried to politely try and get treats.
The RV is tiny. Lots of extra comforters and towels. It did fit us just fine, I did need a min to get used to it. 😆 Everything was in working order.
Barry was very accommodating and brought us over some firewood.
