5 nights at Bolivar Suntastic

This was our second visit to Bolivar Suntastic. It was awesome! Jennifer was great once again and helpful when I needed advice on a local tire shop for the RV. All in all we had a nice quiet week and look forward to returning again soon. PS... I brought a 10 ft extension for the 30 ft. 50 amp power cable and it made things much easier this time.

It was a little confusing as there was no designated Campspot. Just a lot of picnic tables. So we parked near one and set up camp with our RV for the night. We loved how private it was and quiet it was. Now that I understand how it works. I would definitely go back again.

It was the perfect camp set up. A hill overlooking the river and nobody crowding your site. The Managers were sincere and friendly. Maria brought fresh coffee at 7 am and hung out with us. Real good people. Loved everything about it! Definitely coming back!

Weekend Trip to Bolivar Suntastic

We really enjoyed Jennifer's property. Having the fenced in yard made camping with our pup a pleasure. We were sure to pick up after him so the next guest would have a clean yard just as we did. The whole place is very neat and tidy. The camp is on a beach access road which was a popular thourofare, but the fence made me feel safe and more comfortable with the traffic. The outdoor shower was great for rinsing off the beach sand! The new firepit is a great addition. No one in town was selling firewood so we will bring some with us next time. Love the easy access to the large Ace Hardware/ grocery store down the road. Great for picking up things you forgot like food, bug spray or sunscreen.

Loved having a fenced yard for our pup! Tim was great and had great communication! (He even communicated even though on a trip of his own with no cell service!) Nice and private with minimal neighbors using their spots even though it was spring break! Would highly recommend!

Love Love Love! It was exactly what we were looking for! It is very simple and not fancy but has everything you need! Can fish from the grass and use the dock for crabbing! Has the green lights which is a bonus for fishers and the crabbing net was great! I appreciate all the detailed instructions before arrival, made the setup easy and definitely appreciated the heads up about the mosquitos! We didn’t see any until dark and we were able to utilize the out door screened in space for dinner! The fenced yard is great, we had fur babies and it was nice to let them run around! Not many of the lots had a full fence so it was definitely a bonus! Tim was a great host and is very accommodating! We will be back very soon!

1 night at Turquoise Acres Ranch

Bethany was helpful and accommodating, especially considering the last minute nature of my booking. I was only there for a quick overnight stop, but looks like a great place when they have events. There's a barbecue food truck, restrooms, animals, playground for the kids, and a large communal fire pit area.

2 nights at Edge Of The Waters

We LOVE this place!! This was our 2nd stay & we'll continue to go back. The yard is fenced & clean our fur babies enjoy being able to run around & play and I enjoy the security of knowing they are not going to run off. Tim is a great host from the time you check in until the time you check out. New fishing lights were installed this time & it was great. Don't forget your mosquito spray this time of the year!!

Tjona and family went above and beyond making sure we felt welcome, from inviting us in for a home cooked meal, to helping us get our bus unstuck after a few days of rain. Can't wait to visit again to see all the renovations they have coming!

Another amazing trip to Suntastic.... it was cold, rainy but had an amazing time... a short walk to beach, fenced yard for the pups to run off leash. The host is amazing and had it all set up and inviting for us and she helped us set up a great last minute Christmas trip. She is always available for questions and very accomadating Thanks again. The screened has a dining table with chairs, and also stores some patio chairs to use on the property. They are really great to sit on the dock! There is also a charcoal grill and a crab trap for you to use. (You need a fishing license and bait. Chicken bones works great!) Fishing is great here... the canals have been dredged and folks are catching right of the back of their lots. Community fishing area is on the end of both Van Sant and Mabry, Mabry has a boat ramp. These you cast right off a drop to the intracoastal. Beach Access via community gate at end of street. Combination for those will be shared in arrival instructions. Spot is a residential lot... It is 60 x 130. Canal City is a quiet residential area. The back side fronts on the water. You will probably see more seagulls and purple martins than people. We have weekly discounts. Message me and I can go over them because the Hipcamp platform makes them difficult. It works out to approximately 7 nights for the price of 5. Be prepared: Bolivar has mosquitoes. This is the coast. If it has rained they can be really bad. The county sprays on a regular rotation but it can be bad. They tend to swarm when you pull in. Spray helps. We also send recommendations for what sprays work best for us in the arrival instructions. We do not offer refunds for mosquitoes. We have never found them unmanageable, and the screen porch keeps them almost entirely away. We are east of Rollover Pass. Easiest to arrive through Winnie and south on 124. Unless you are coming from Galveston or southeast Houston it is probably shorter. The ferry is fun (dolphins and such) but the waits can be long. Also: Do not bring loose propane tanks or gasoline cans on the ferry, they will send you away.
