The loft in this tent, the Grand Aztec, is smaller than the lofts in the other two large tents, the Grand Arrow and Grand Tesoro. The queen mattress is this loft is squeezed a bit, so it’s best for 1 adult, although 2 can share as long as you’re prepared for it to be a little tight.)

A note about AC:
We have installed very powerful window style AC units. In general, the AC unit can cool 15 degrees off of the outside temp. If the outdoor temp reaches 100 during the peak of the day, it might be 85 in your tent. At night a d in the morning, when the outside air temp cools to the low 70s, your tent can be very cool.
What’s the difference between our 4 tents?
At Talula Mesa we offer 4 glamping tents, each 100 to 300 ft apart for privacy, all with great views of the hill country. Three tents are large (Grand), and one is small (Mini). The 3 Grand tents are nearly identical, with slightly varying decor. The main difference is in the tents’ locations on our property and corresponding view.
- The Grand Aztec: Provides the most open view of the lake and hill country. Located central on the property near the main fire pit and common areas.
- The Grand Arrow: Also has a lake view, but with more trees, less open than the Grand Aztec. Located closer to the entrance of our property, farther from the common areas. Adirondack chairs and a hammock area is just out back (lakeside).
- The Grand Tesoro: Private hill country view across the properties ravine. Located closest to the bathhouse, very central on our property. Also near the common areas. A private chiminea fire area under a grove of trees is nearby.
The price for Grand tents is based on double or triple occupancy. A fourth guest is welcome for an additional fee ($50/nt), which you’ll see at booking.
The Mini Aztec: Located between the Grand Aztec and Grand Arrow tents, with a private view of the lake and hills, and a private chiminea area. For younger children (age 8+) who want to sleep in the mini tent, we recommend the Grand Arrow for the parents because the mini is within view of the Grand Arrow porch.
The Grand Tents have a maximum occupancy of 3 guests. We may allow for a fourth guest upon request for an additional fee ($50/nt).

Talula Mesa was charming and a beautiful place to escape and enjoy nature. Our beautiful a-frame cabin was well appointed with amenities described but the pictures cannot do just to the detail of the space and the sun rise and sun set views. We are considering it for a friends weekend to be able to relax, cook together and enjoy peace in the hill country.

I spent 3 nights in the cozy cacti container with my dog and can't wait to return again. The cabin provides all of the comforts of home and the land surrounding the container home is absolutely gorgeous. The front porch is a perfect spot for bird watching and its an easy hike down to the water. If I were to create my own ideal getaway cabin, it would be just like this place. Its perfect!

This cabin was definitely cozy, but it fit our needs for a weekend away. The kitchen was good for making breakfast tacos, and the bed was very comfortable. The soaking tub was a great way to relax during the day. I’d definitely recommend it to any couples looking for a retreat.

Wow! We stayed in the Vineyard cabin and it was beautiful! The cabin had everything we needed. The bathrooms, kitchen, linens, everything was spotless. The hot tub overlooking the creek was such an amazing touch. We were even able to go see the ponies! I would highly recommend and will definitely be back!!

We loved our stay!! The Container was clean, super comfortable, quiet, and well appointed.. There was deer in the yard every morning and evening, and huge owl hung out in the tree next to the fire pit. Jeremy was super easy to work with and responsive to all our questions. There is a lot to do in the surrounding areas (which he will fill you in on with a very detailed list) and we were only able to scratch the surface in our 3 days there! Even our dog loved his time there!
We would definitely recommend a stay here!
