Our family has owned property, on Terlingua Ranch, since the 1970's.  Since that time, we've added additional property and our love for this area and our passion for sharing it with others, has grown more and more.  We've continued to value and preserve the area's natural, primitive beauty.

I love camping out in the West Texas desert, and I hope you do too! The skies are like nothing else, and you will often be able to hear coyotes and other wildlife here. I love the wildness of the place, so I ask that you "leave only footprints" and please do not kill wildlife! The exception would be insects you could not otherwise remove from a tent!Learn more about this land:Get off, OFF the beaten path on my place in the Cedar Springs area of Terlingua Ranch, Texas. Literally only a few miles west of Big Bend National Park, you will be completely on your own at my campsite - you can see no other sign of humans from this camping spot! (Though, if that makes you nervous, you can see distant dwellings & a road if you walk around.) You WILL need a high-clearance vehicle, although 4WD is not necessary unless there has been a recent rain. If rain is forecasted, it is best NOT to go there, and I will fully refund any amount you have paid. The road does traverse a creekbed, and driving on these roads after a rain would require 4WD but could also really mess up the road for others. The best time to camp here is probably December through February, with possibilities of avoiding rains in November and March or April as well - it depends, of course, as the rains are less predictable these days. Chihuahuan desert landscape & beautiful views of mountains and mesas. You will see a night sky like no other! Cool or cold nights in the winters and pretty blazing hot in the summer, with winds that can be pretty fierce - so be sure and plan accordingly! To get here, you go another 8 miles off of Terlingua Ranch Road (which is paved), and detailed directions will be provided once you book. Terlingua Ranch headquarters provides places for showering as well as a swimming pool and the Bad Rabbit cafe (all accessible for a charge). I suggest you do NOT arrive at night, since there are few road signs. You will need to take my directions to the letter to find my place anyway!
