Property is nice,clean,and is situated in a well maintained área of Bolivar. Mike is very friedly and helpful. The fenced in yard was a true blessing. We had two couples and 2 separate campers, one pulled in the other backed in and there was amañe sauced to set up tables and cooking equipment in between. Highly recommend

It was a little confusing as there was no designated Campspot. Just a lot of picnic tables. So we parked near one and set up camp with our RV for the night. We loved how private it was and quiet it was. Now that I understand how it works. I would definitely go back again.

It’s fully covered, so you’re sheltered from the elements without sacrificing the outdoor experience. One of the highlights is the amazing deck with a picnic table and additional seating that gives you spectacular views of the surrounding area. The fenced-in yard is an absolute bonus, especially for dog owners—my pups had the freedom to run around off-leash, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The outdoor shower with both hot and cold water is a fantastic feature, along with the charming outdoor swing that adds a relaxing touch to your evening. The patio area is well-lit, perfect for enjoying the space after dark. You’re also in a prime location, close to local stores and Tia Juanita's Fish Camp, where the food is amazing! And if you're looking to explore, it’s just a quick trip to the ferry and then you're off to Galveston Island. It was the perfect camp set up. A hill overlooking the river and nobody crowding your site. The Managers were sincere and friendly. Maria brought fresh coffee at 7 am and hung out with us. Real good people. Loved everything about it! Definitely coming back!

8 nights at Hazel Park

We camped for a week in our Argosy Airstream. The road is paved right up to the campground. It was peaceful, quiet and nestled among the trees. We camped during Christmastime and visited with family and friends during the holidays. There is a train close by but it wasn’t too loud or often. We would camp there again!

1 night at Magnolia Gardens Park

Nice place along a beautiful the river. Not a lot of other folks here in December so you have your choice of camping spots. Bring bug repellant. Two things to note, the gates are closed from 7pm - 7am. I believe you can make arrangements for later arrival but I would do so well before arriving. Also, there are a few off leash dogs that seem to be full-timers. They keep to themselves for the most part but consider this if you have your own pets with you.

Hazel Park is primarily a 30 acre stand of pine. It has several trails and Crystal Creek Runs through it. In addition there is a cleared 15 acre area once used for farming and grazing. It includes our homestead. The camping area is 3 acres of an abandoned homestead which includes a water well, electricity and septic system. One septic hookup is available No toilet is available there yet. There is a septic dump. Adjacent to this area is a private pond for fishing. Off road vehicles are welcome. Lake Conroe is located about 6 miles west. The Sam Houston National Forest entrance is about 18 miles north. Beyond the national forest is Huntsville and Sam Houston State University 24 miles. To the East is Lake Livingston 35 miles and a continuation of the national forest. To the south are the cities of Conroe, The Woodlands, Spring, and Houston. Downtown Houston is about 49 miles away.

The top is transparent, so you can fall asleep wishing on a star. This dome is anchored to a sturdy wooden deck. There is a retractable awning that covers each dome reducing the green-house effect during the daytime and can be opened to reveal the beautiful skyline during the day or the wonderous starlit sky at night. Inside you’ll find a cozy king bed and a trundle that can comfortably sleep up to four guests. There is air conditioning and heating inside as well as a full private bathroom. The bathroom even has a clawfoot tub! Toiletries are provided for you during your stay. The dome is located in Sam Houston National Forest on a beautiful ranchette of almost 8 acres. On the ranchette you’ll be able to see chickens, turkeys (seasonal), goats, pigs, rabbits, and a garden near the home as well as livestock grazing in the pastures. Wildlife is present in the forest, so there are some food restrictions inside the dome to keep you safe.
