Paradise on Lake Texoma (formerly Paradise Cove) is a beautiful, secluded commercial campground located in the "Big Mineral Arm'' of Lake Texoma. Built in the 80's by the Corps of Engineers, Paradise has been a mainstay of the lake for many years. Recently, the current management team are working to grow Paradise into something special. With a huge focus on community and culture, Paradise has tons of space for people to come together and enjoy the company and also areas to wander off and find a quiet lakeside spot to relax. You'll also be able to catch one of the best breathtaking sunsets on the lake!
The wildlife we have on the property is amazing! I have deer that sleep in my front yard, opossums, 600 bird species, and my favorite… the armadillos!
We offer Kayaking on the property for a fee. We have a beautiful Hammock Garden free for guests to kick back and relax. Texoma Water Taxi is a text away to give guests a ride anywhere on the lake including restaurants. Rock-N A Ranch is roughly 20 minutes away and offers horseback riding.
The Cabins and Campsites are within walking distance from each other but far enough away to create that illusion of privacy. We do have a neighborhood close by but you can’t see or hear them due to the woods.
In my travels, I try to bring back something I’ve seen or learned to help improve the guest experience and environment. You’ll notice little touches of Asia, Mexico, and even Hill Country Texas! We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service and treat every guest like family.

In the early 1900’s an iconic red barn was built near the hilltop along the road between the old Mt. Zion community and Collinsville. Later in the 1900’s, the land was mostly abandoned by its owners, but not by the local fishermen! They knew its woodland fishing pond never dried up, and so was able to support a better population of fish. They also dumped a cornucopia of old motorcycles, cars and farm equipment in the front field. What else were you supposed to do with scrap metal in North Texas horse country?
In 2002 the Holtzman family purchased the 35 acre tract of land. They dug a front pond for swimming and paddling, buried the scrap metal (although occasional bits of history still work their way up!), restored and brought horses back to the barn, and began consulting with local biologists about supporting native wildlife.
April Holtzman launched Camp Tonkawa Outdoor Learning Center on the property to provide a beautiful, safe place for families to explore and learn about nature. Camp Tonkawa continues to host overnight and day camps with educational programing organized around various themes including: Native American culture, nature awareness, basic camping skills, primitive survival, organic gardening, herbology, outdoor cooking, western days, and horsemanship. We also host field trips and frequently conduct Girl Scout journeys for all levels in the "It's Your Planet, Love it!" series.
Due to Covid-19, which limited working with groups for our educational programing, we joined Hip Camp where families who could isolate in nature together on our property.

You will share the land with our chickens and ducks, as well as a variety of wildlife including rare and native birds, deer, raccoons, opossums, coyotes, and amphibians.
When we moved here in 2017, we chose to cohabitate with the land by avoiding all chemicals, including pesticides, herbicides, and synthetic cleaning products in the cabins.
Over the last nine years, we have seen the tree frog population flourish and naturally manage the mosquitoes, while the native foliage thrives even in harsh temperatures. Our soil is amazing, and though we may be a small plot of land, you will enjoy seeing nature at its absolute best.
As a bonus, we are conveniently located 10 to 45 minutes from a wide array of outdoor recreation. You will have easy access to Mineral Wells State Park, the new state park in Pilot Point, Lake Ray Roberts, Chandor Gardens, Clark Gardens, and Possum Kingdom Lake. On our property we also have a 1957 Spartan Mansion, a 1955 Spartan Mansion, a 1953 Spartanette, a 1960 Airstream, a 1969 Airstream, a 1963 Avion, and a 1965 Streamline -- all unrestored and in various stages of disrepair. Over the years, thousands of guests have enjoyed our property, which features an outdoor pergola, a fire pit, a prayer path, a seasonal pond, and a vibrant garden. You will share the land with our chickens and ducks, as well as a variety of wildlife including rare and native birds, deer, raccoons, opossums, coyotes, and amphibians.
When we moved here in 2017, we chose to cohabitate with the land by avoiding all chemicals, including pesticides, herbicides, and synthetic cleaning products in the cabins.
Over the last nine years, we have seen the tree frog population flourish and naturally manage the mosquitoes, while the native foliage thrives even in harsh temperatures. Our soil is amazing, and though we may be a small plot of land, you will enjoy seeing nature at its absolute best.
As a bonus, we are conveniently located 10 to 45 minutes from a wide array of outdoor recreation. You will have easy access to Mineral Wells State Park, the new state park in Pilot Point, Lake Ray Roberts, Chandor Gardens, Clark Gardens, and Possum Kingdom Lake. We had an amazing time during a wintery getaway during an ice/snow storm this past weekend. We had the entire cabin area to ourselves (yes I was told 100x by friends we were crazy to go to Texoma for a snow storm) and our Kabana 9 could not have been cuter. Everything you need and nothing you don’t. Staff did a fantastic job making sure we had extra blankets to stay warm and jugs of water. The hosts even came by to see how we were doing on Day 2. Was a gorgeous location before and after the snow. The bathrooms were amazing and clean. We are sold and will be back again in the warmer spring weather.

Absolutely amazing!!! I can’t wait to come back. Melissa was the best house and the property was even better than I expected. I was so comfortable, secure and felt like I was totally isolated. At the same time, I knew help or something I needed was just a text away. The fire pit made cooking a breeze, and I spent so much time in the sauna. The bathtub was amazing and fully stocked!

I loved staying in the magical tipi on Melissa’s land. A truly remarkable experience with amazing breakfast as well.
I stayed for three nights and never tired of the entrance to the enchanted garden, the energy of the tipi, the wonderful hammock and garden chairs to lounge in, and relaxing bathtub (and soothing record player). An unforgettable experience, right in Denton.

This place was amazing! Melissa met us as we pulled in. My two little ones immediately adored her. She was so nice and welcoming. I was honestly blown away with how secluded and “in the woods out in the middle of nowhere” it felt. The boys (6 and 3) and I haven’t done a real camping trip yet and I wanted to do kind of a trial run first. It honestly couldn’t have went better. They said it felt like we went through a portal! We had plenty of fire wood to roast marshmallows and hot dogs and the boys loved the teepee! Thank you again Melissa for such an amazing experience!

This was my first attempt at taking my young children outdoors overnight. I wanted something as close to camping as possible, and the farm teepee was exactly what I imagined.
Melissa was a wonderful hostess! She was kind, thoughtful and attentive. Most importantly however, she recognized that crazed mom look in my eyes and instantly helped me relax with her friendly demeanor. Teepee was super roomy; 2 big comfy beds with room for 2 wild kids to get their crazies out. The farm was a little bit of wild that they could safely explore and start to get comfortable with all the scary spiders and loud roosters crowing LOL
Her vinyl collection was insane! I need to come back just to listen to more records. But by far the best part of the trip (besides the crazy delicious farm breakfast), was at night when it got quiet and the moon and stars lit up everything and I felt a peace you just can’t get in the city. Getting back in touch with nature like that was incredibly healing and rejuvenating. 10/10 would recommend!
