Wonderful little place to stay. We stayed for one evening with our 3 dogs. Michael was extremely accommodating and welcoming. Cabin has everything you need for a relaxing trip; cozy, warm and inviting. Area is rural and private and perfect for those looking for a break from the hustle and bustle. We had 2WD vehicles and did just fine. I recommend getting there before dark, as the road is easier when you can see well. It’s very hard to find places that accept pets, so this was a gem for us. Definitely out of the way, so bring whatever you need. Highly recommended. Thank you to Michael and his family for hosting us.

I loved camping on Will and Austyn's land. They met us with a warm hello a tour upon arrival. The tent was located towards the back of the property, tucked away nicely. We had the whole camp to ourselves, which was GREAT! We wanted a nice and quiet trip, which is what we got. The tent itself was cozy. Before we arrived, Will and Austyn set up our tent and bathroom area with heaters, turned on and ready to go. That was an AMAZING touch. The night we arrived, the low was 25 degrees. But it actually got hot in the tent, I was sweating. They also provided an electric blanket! Again, a wonderful touch that they didnt have to provide. The wifi was Great! If you want to unplug completely, great. But we needed the service for Emergency calls back home. The community kitchen was great! It had almost everything we needed. The bathroom was warm because of the space heater and fully stocked with essentials! Now a couple of things to think about: If you're a coffee drinker, bring k cups. Thats what was inside the tent. Or it will be a process to use the French press. Personally, not my thing, but im a HUGE coffee drinker. The kitchen isnt heated, so cooking was painful the first night only because it was so cold. But the soup we made was worth it. Spiders... everywhere. Lol its expected... only daddy long legs but be aware if you a terrified of spiders like myself. Lighting in the tent was low, bring a lantern! Theres a spot to hang one. All in all it was WONDERFUL! WILL be back!

The property is absolutely stunning—Will and Austyn are clearly putting so much love and care into the land, and it shows. Our hosts Will and Austyn are amazing. They are so friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond to made sure we have everything we needed. My husband and I stayed in the Unique Glamping Dome. It was very spacious and the bed was so comfy. The shared kitchen and bathroom are was so clean!! Side note Almond (the cat) was just as welcoming and friendly as our hosts. Austin gave me a great tour and history of the property at midnight when I finally arrived. Was still there to greet me! Great place. Not far from a beautiful lake. Bring your kayaks and enjoy the east Texas life for a bit!

Will and Austyn went above and beyond to share the history and beauty of family land while also providing a safe haven of glam and convenience to feel like you are amongst the wild but feeling safe, accepted and valued. I grew up not far from here. And this area has always brought me back - despite my endless travels to find other semblances of home in nature or culture. I recognize that the piney woods of East, TX have always been home to me and especially to the city girl that left when she was 18 for “more”. The people here are family forward, embrace all things nature and have down home values - while also providing the land with as much nourishment as it gives us. And Will and Austyn are leading the path for generations to come. They will let you be in solitude if you choose, but they can also be the best guides and companions for an unforgettable escape amongst the wild. My heart is full and my friend list has grown. I will always go back. But, I wouldn’t be able to say that if I never went in the first place. :)

Loved staying here it is a very beautiful and peaceful place. I enjoy sitting in the hot tub, sitting by the fire and taking my dogs for long walks. In the day time I enjoyed fishing and swimming only about 10 min away. I would recommend this place and love to come back!

4 nights at The Knee Knocker on Caddo Lake

We loved the that it was spacious both inside and outside! The firepit was a big plus for us we loved sitting outside and visiting around it. The owners had many games you can play plus canoes with the life jackets and ores. Jacksons Ranch Marina is only about 5 miles away and they offer boat tours along with fishing guides. It’s a beautiful area I encourage ya’ll to go and have a sleepover with your friends and family

Weekend Trip to Glamping Remote

Had a great stay at one of the Geo domes at Will and Austin’s campgrounds. They have a nice large well kept campground with other available lodging options such as A-frame cabins, tiny homes, and safari tents. Nicely decorated and furnished rooms that elevated the glamping experience. Stayed 2 nights with my significant other and our little pup. Such friendly and welcoming hosts, we will definitely stay again when visiting east Texas.

Our dome was cozy and complete with everything we needed, bed was comfy and parking and bathroom were situated nearby. We can’t wait to come back and explore the area and stay longer. Austyn and Will are excellent hosts and the entire vibe of the property is excellent.

Weekend Trip to Glamping Remote

This place really is an example of glamping 101. I came in December right before Christmas, and the low for the night was about 5° above freezing. Will and Austyn had the tent set up with a heater, an electric blanket, and I had an electric blanket of my own which kept me warm and cozy all night. Austyn greeted me when I arrived and it was dark which really helped get oriented. He showed me around and let me settle in. The morning was incredibly picturesque. My tent is shaded in the morning so from the front deck, you can see the expanse of the land beautifully lit. I was only there for one night but was greeted by Will in the morning. These two really are the friendliest and so open. Would definitely stay here again.

2 nights at Glamping Remote

What an amazing weekend at Will & Austyn's Campgrounds! Our tiny home was spotless and cozy - it felt just like home, but with the added bonus of amazing outdoor amenities. We loved the fire pit with hammocks for stargazing, and the outdoor kitchen was a dream! They had everything, including a wood-fired pizza oven. The showers and restrooms were sparkling clean, and the jacuzzi was the perfect way to unwind. But the best part? The incredible hospitality! We felt so welcomed from the moment we arrived. Will & Austyn's is a true gem, and we can't wait to go back!

Cool park for a water adventure

Cool water paths for canoeing or kayaking. Stayed in the cabins. They are very nice and clean.

Camped in the Armadillo Run Camping Area. While beautiful with tons of trees, it is very close to a major road and you can consistently hear traffic. Will stay in Mill Pond area next time. Lovely park with great canoeing options! Make sure to bring bug spray - TONS of mosquitos!

This is my favorite spot to camp in Texas! Beautiful, big trees provide lots of shade. We've even been on the Fourth of July and had a great time. It wasn't too hot at all. Their fireworks display is one of the best around. The campground is so laid back and relaxing. We always get a canoe when we go and have a picnic on the water. I've been several times and can't wait to go back!

Just returned from our camping trip to Caddo. I opt for one of the screened in shelters, just in case some spring TX weather turned wet on us... and I'm so glad I did! Shelters are great, stayed totally dry during a wicked T-storm. Rented a canoe for 48 hrs from the park, but had limited use because of a wind advisory on the lake (whomp). Wandered the Nature trail instead, good stuff and an easy hike. Grab a Jr. Ranger backpack from the HQ for added entertainment. hint: limited shopping, so make sure you bring EVERYTHING, including dry fire wood. Spacious camping spots, swing sets for kiddos, little cell service by the lake. Great place to unplug, will be back to gain more paddle miles for sure!

Absolutely love this state park. One of the last natural lakes, it has gorgeous cypress trees that are best experienced during the fall. There are canoe rentals at the park headquarters and definitely worth the trip around the water. There are also some beautiful nature walks that are very unique in Texas! Definitely can't wait to go back.

If you're longing for the smell of pine needles and a cacophony of birds, Caddo Lake is your spot. We camped at Mill Pond, which allows tents only, and comes highly recommended. Rent a canoe and some poles and go fishing early among the bald cypress, and float into a seemingly prehistoric world (watch for gators). Caddo Lake is a birders paradise. We hiked every trail on the map, and enjoyed a solitary picnic at the CCC pavilion. We get high on the lake then we float down the river Get off on the backroads get lost in the woods Very deep in the heart of Uncertain Texas I tried hard to leave there but never did good -Guy Clark

We loved this park! It was so fun to walk around and check our the different views the park has to offer. We took the paddle-wheel steamboat tour out of Karnack and later explored Jefferson. It was a wonderful trip and we've been aching to go back!

Set on the TX/LA border it is a very unique place to explore! There are canoe rentals that include overnight rentals if you choose which allows you to keep your canoe right at your campsite from the water! The best campsites with water access are 63, 64 & 65!

Caddo Lake Campground

Lots of space to explore the surrounding woods and swampy marshes around the campgrounds. One of the main attractions at Caddo Lake is exploring the lake by canoe. There is easy access to canoe rentals near the campground and you can even bring your own Stand Up Paddle board if that's your preferred method for exploring the lake! There is a lot of rich history in this part of Texas and you can take a tour of Caddo Lake by way of the last known wood-burning, steam powered, stern paddle-wheel touring vessel in the world; The Graceful Ghost.
