Our homestead is a few acres in East Texas, near Hawkins. The land has been untouched for about 30 years, maybe last used for cattle grazing. We're keeping the property as natural as possible, we live here off-grid and off-pipe.
There’s a 17 acre lake that we share with neighbors. It’s full of bass, bluegill, crappie and catfish, we encourage catch and keep fishing since the lake could use a little fishing pressure. We also have a beaver pond, and resident beaver.
Some of the wildlife we see regularly: fireflies, turtles, cardinals, bluejays, hummingbirds, kite birds, frogs, opossums, armadillos, beaver, river otter, road runners and rabbits. These plants live here too: Beautyberry, Dewberry, Pokeberry, Sparkleberry, Dogfennel, Dogwood, Yaupon Holly, Holly, Wax Myrtle, Sassafras , Lyreleaf Sage, Carolina Crane’s bill, Coral Honeysuckle, Western White Honeysuckle, Smooth Cat’s Ear, Daisy Fleabane, Prairie Onion, Mullein, Summer Grape, Water Lily. The entire water lily plant is edible, did you know?

I4 acres with spring-fed creek, just a few minutes from Lindale restaurants and supplies. For more info about the tiny house or yurt rentals, please inquire. It has extended acreage with multiple ecosystems. I just found a spring and will be doing livestock. There is yurt and tiny house for rent. There is an RV plug, electricity (extra fee), and a water hose.
The site is close to downtown Lindale (5 minutes) restaurants and shopping. 15 minutes from tyler. It is country living but still close to city action.
The lower parts of the property require 4-wheel drive, but the top has water and electricity, so any car is fine.
As this is an outdoor area, there are bugs and critters. I have never had a problem, but this is notice that you agree to assume all liability and responsibility for your party by camping at this property. NEW: Starlink Satellite Internet!

Weekend Trip to Seven Acres Campground
This stay was as described plus some! Most importantly for me is always having my coffee and there's a cute little cabin "tea house" with a kitchen for long stay use plus coffee, tea, and snacks. It was adorable and quite a surprise because the listing said a coffee maker was in the laundry room. Untrue and should be updated to reflect how cute the standalone "tea house" really is! The bathhouse should really be called luxury bath cabin. It is really nice, very clean, and just steps from the cabin I stayed in. It's shared among all cabins so that could turn some off, but it was so nice that I absolutely didn't mind. The area is really pretty, filled with trees and flowers, and sweet outside cats. Right across the street from the lake. The road noise might be busy during prime season but overall, this stay was quiet and relaxing, more than a simple overnight campsite, which was just what I was looking for.

Had a great time here! The area was spacious, camp fire and tire swing along with grill area in great locations. Host was super nice as well as her pup who my dog got along with and that's saying something because she likes her personal space. Her dog was a great watch dog of the area, showing my dog around the area and he spent time around my camp area which was nice. Great scenery and I would definitely stay here the next time I want to visit East Tx and go camping 😀

We had a great time. The site was nice with a big stone for ring and a soft bed if pine needles. The host, Linda, was very accommodating and responded quickly to communications and made the trip stress free.
We loved Porter the goat, Andy the big lovable dog and Molly the little friendly dog. Andy and Porter slept outside of our tent and it was adorable.
The location of pretty with some room to explore.

I very much enjoyed my stay here. Very private and the lake was so peaceful. It’s probably too small for motorboats (that’s a good thing in my book) but big enough for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. I loved hearing the chorus of frogs and the blips of light from the fireflies. It’s not the easiest to get to, but the directions provided by the host were excellent. They meet you at the gate and give you a tour of the facilities. You can text if you have any trouble or questions, but otherwise leave you alone to enjoy your stay. AT&T was one bar, but there is enough clearing for Starlink if you need that. I saw some of the comments saying you need 4wd to get there. You don’t unless it’s been raining. Just take it slow. I never once put it in 4wd. Higher clearance helps but not necessary. If you question this, just contact the host. I’m sure they will advise you on the best decision. Being August in East Texas, I thought I would be miserably hot, but it was about 10 degrees cooler there. The shade from the trees was quite adequate so no need for a canopy. I didn’t have a fire, but firewood is available for a fee. The picnic table is level which is good for cooking on a propane stove. The tent area has some pitch to it. I stay in my Jeep, so I just use rocks for leveling. I would definitely stay here again. I travel extensively staying mostly in primitive public lands. Texas has very few places like that, so I prefer to support local landowners over the commercial campgrounds.

The space is beautiful and always improving. There is a dog park almost finished, and a beautiful creek at the end of the property along a sandy wooded area that is a bit of a trek through some wetland, but will soon be a nice dry walk. The animals roam freely and the land is bordered by two farmlands with wide pasture and forested hill...and no farmy smells! If youre looking to learn how a homestead can be built, this is the place to come. You can wander the forest, forage for wild edible plants, check out how the spring has been tapped, and soon bathe in spring fed pools! We love it and have been here for three months, planning to stay longer 😀

Quiet, woodsy, safe and serene! Andy, the owner’s German Shepherd, camped with me and is just the sweetest dog! Linda is a great host and helped resolve my battery pack issues by running power all the way down to my site so everything had power and full charge is restored to my battery pack and me! She has a beautiful spot with a fire pit all set up, plenty of chairs, 2 grills and an eating table and another small folding table too. The outhouse is charming! Great place-I’ll be back if I’m ever this way. Thanks Linda!

Every time I come through, the coyote campground is my hip camp of choice. The town is bustling only 6 miles away, the campsites are spacious, and there's even a dog park being fenced in for camping pups!
The free roaming mini goats are the best 😀

We tent camped at Wayne’s Land and had an absolute blast. Beautiful views of the lake, great amenities in the kayaks and swimming dock. There are definitely alligators in the waters, but nothing really bothered us the whole time we were there.
Only downside, I would say, is that the fire pit doesn’t have a grill, so you have to get creative with any cooking.

It was a great spot to camp. Simple get away with lake front view. We kayaked and canoed with our dog. The campsite was clean and it was convenient to have the compost toilet. We were able to pull right up to the site with our SUV and roof top tent set up. It was fun star gazing and watching the bats hunt over the water.

Joey and Cindy recently set up a gazebo! It has a mini table fire, cushioned seats, and a large speaker. It was very comforting to use for warmth, especially since we went during a really windy time. Cindy and Joey were very sweet and informative and gave us tips for our 3 day trip. The claw tub is also massive and perfect for showering and bathing. This was a very peaceful and cozy getaway!

2 nights at Seven Acres Campground
We had a super cozy and relaxing stay! The bathhouse was actually really nice and the heater in it could get it toasty in there (it got pretty cold at night when we went). The cabin was warm too of course, I just didn't expect to spend so much time in a bathroom while camping (there is a huge claw foot tub in there that was too tempting for us). There was a surprise in the middle of the campsite when we got there, a gazebo just got added which was a really cool bonus since we got to be the first to take it for a spin. It was super windy so unfortunately a campfire was out of the question (this was a problem for anyone out camping so what can you do). Luckily the gazebo that Joey & Cindy added had a pretty wind proof gas powered fire to sit around in it so that saved the day. There is also a grill so we were able to still cook no problem too of course.
We definitely recommend staying!
