I am not one with words, but if you read one review, read this one. We arrived and Rick was full of stories and information about the property. He took us to our site (4 wheel drive is a MUST!) which was amazing. He allowed us to rearrange the picnic table and fire ring to our liking. The next morning Rick set our eggs out that we purchased through him at 6am. We went fishing and caught four 2-2.8 pounders. It was amazing! That sunset I took the photography class presented by Rick. It was wonderful. Got a lot of information and he took me to some pretty spots I had not seen before. That evening it rained and stormed. Our tent collapsed and our gear was soaked. This was my first time camping, and because the amazing time Rick provided I am hooked!!!! The animals coming in to my camp was unforgettable and seeing my dogs swim in the ponds, those are memories I’ll never forget! Thank you Rick for having such a beautiful, well maintained and kept up property! Me and my family will be back!!!!

Weekend Trip to Treehouse on the Creek

Steve was great! It rained the day before we came and he took the time to let us know it probably wouldn’t be so comfortable with all the mud and accommodated us in the town near by until it dried overnight! He’s super friendly and we enjoyed our stay! The property is amazing is great for a get away!

Such a great spot so close to Dallas! Nice spread out campsites, plenty of space to explore and search for the horses. Our daughters loved the horses and especially Willie the mule - they are all friendly and we had no worries about safety when around the horses/mules/donkeys. Rick is super nice and helpful and made us feel welcome and comfortable on his land. Would love to come back!

Weekend Trip to Rockin Bar B Ranch

We had a blast at Bobbi's cabin - it was extremely peaceful & secluded with lots of land to explore. I did yoga on the deck, read a good book & hiked the acreage while my partner spent a full two days fishing the pond. Even our small dog had the time of his life living it up like a wild little animal. Looking forward to trying the goose egg we were giving. Thanks again for the hospitality & relaxing getaway!!

Hosts were helpful and very welcoming. Neat little peice of Texas Hill Country right outside the metroplex. Quiet and doesn’t feel like you’re in DFW. Can be in town quickly. Perfect place to put your camper when your stopping along the way

Overall a good spot not too far from Dallas. While there are other sites nearby, and there is some road noise, the other sites are mostly further away, and broken by trees, and the noise isn’t bad at all. I would recommend this spot if you have kids - mine loved the horses, mules, and donkeys, and the chance to explore on their own!

I've visited this spot several times now, and I still absolutely love it! The peaceful atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and the company of friendly horses and donkeys make it a special place to unwind. The animals are a highlight for me—if you're into it, they’re always around to greet you, but if you'd rather have some space, just give them a little room and they’ll happily wander off on their own. It’s the perfect balance of nature and tranquility.

My family had a great time! Extremely accommodating host and the whole experience was simple which let us concentrate on having fun. We stayed there mainly at night and explored Texas during the day. The Sniders played an important part in the development of our town, Lucas, and surrounding schools. The rest of the land has been sold to two families, and all three purchasers (that includes us!) are establishing small family farms. Hurray! Plus the Snider's old house and barn next door are being renovated by the new owners! Since 2013, we have brought in water and electricity to the land, built fences, a house and several barns. We have a flock of chickens, a bunch of loud, nosey Nubian dairy goats, 2 cats and 2 dogs. We farm organic vegetables, and have planted some fruit trees. We are committed to conservation of our land and the wildlife that call it home, and are working to restore our wildflower meadow (location of the campsite) to original prairie state. Come see us; we'd like to share it all with you! Learn more about this land: Come to Fieldsong Farm, absorb the peace and serenity, and leave refreshed! Stake your tent on the edge of our tallgrass wildflower meadow, and immerse yourself in diversity where the city ends and the country begins. Enjoy a fire in the fire ring from your seat on a "porch" swing as the sun goes down and the wildlife begin their nightly symphony.
