7 nights at Trickle Creek Ranch

Gary’s place was just right for our overnight stays. Super easy 20-minute drive to visit our kids and grandkids in Fort Worth. Gary was a great host, really enjoyed chatting with him and hearing a bit about the old dairy farm. Our two grandsons (3 and 5) stayed with us for a couple of nights and loved seeing the longhorns and exploring the property. We’ll definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Burgers Lake Camping

I wasn't sure what to expect but was really happy. We got to the waterpark/campground around 5pm on a friday so the place wasn't too packed and they didn't charge us to use the pool that day. The staff, esspecially Sherwood who has big plans for the poace, were all super friendly, helpful and told us to pretty much camp anywhere that you could park. We had the whole place to ourselves that night and my boys and friends got to run around playing tag in the dark which they loved. The next morning we were able to pick out the best spots on the lake for the day and had a blast. Just know that apparently during the off season they let you make a campfire but during the pool season they don't. We were there the first week of season and they made an exception so if campfires are important, you might want to double check with them before hand. Other than that, I'd absolutely recomend camping here.

We had a wonderful time- caught a couple of bluegills in the pond. We enjoyed! Will be back as it was very peaceful!

Weekend Trip to Burgers Lake Camping

I was there the day before they officially opened and there was only a high school graduating class there. Got to spend the afternoon enjoying this beautiful, spring fed lake, complete with slides, fountains, diving boards (of all heights), and snack bar (they make an awesome cheeseburger!). Once they cleared out, I had the place to myself. Owners were very accommodating. Even though they don’t really offer space with power, they found me a plug to charge my Jackery. They also offered tips on what not to miss at the Stockyards. The camping area is grassy, level and very shady with tons of large pecan trees that were planted by original owners. The facility was very clean, hosts were friendly and it is truly a magical place to stay! It’s only about 15 minutes from the Stockyards, so very convenient if you’re planning to visit there. I was just passing through, but would definitely love to come back sometime! I am a single female, traveling alone and felt extremely safe. Don’t forget to hit the artisan well to fill up your water jugs on the way out!

Weekend Trip to Trickle Creek Ranch

I have a Ford Transit camper van, so I just needed a place to crash on the weekend away from the city. I really like that even though it feels I am away from the city there are stores and restaurants 10 minutes drive from the farm. I also appreciated they had a nice warm shower and a bathroom right by the area I parked. The fire pit is shareable, but it seems like no one cared for it, so I had it all for me 😅

Another great trip to 4G ranch. Site was freshly mowed and clear directions on how to get there. Enjoyed the proximity to the fishing. My 12 year old loved being able to just walk on down there to cast his line. Will be back again soon!

The hosts were very friendly. Super cool to stay in this nearly 100 year-old waterpark. Especially only being 5 miles from the stockyards. Would definitely recommend.

Weekend Trip to Stanford Ranch Lakeside RV Resort

We stayed in a rented R.V. R.V. was super clean, air conditioner, and stocked with everything we could have ever needed! Fridge kept all our food ice cold! Scott, the owner, was super friendly and attentive. Saw him every day maintaining the property. He even lent my kids fishing poles because we bought cheap ones and they broke first trip out. Beautiful view, had lots of rain at night but the days were beautiful! We will absolutely be returning very soon!

Beautiful property, great views in every direction. We caught fish all day long. It was just a great escape from the city life. About 10 minutes from Gainesville, in case you want to go out for dinner or run to Walmart for something.

We loved camping on Sherwood’s land at Burgers Lake! We wanted something affordable near Dallas/Fort Worth, and this popped up. It felt like an abandoned waterpark all to ourselves- but it will be open soon- which would be even more fun! Plenty of wide open space and privacy. All the amenities are easily accessible. It’s definitely worth staying and we’ll be back if we’re in the area!

We are also collector's of vintage RV's and currently have various vintage trailers and motorhomes on the property. There are horses and longhorn cattle that roam the 12 acres. Fieldsong Farm

The Sniders played an important part in the development of our town, Lucas, and surrounding schools. The rest of the land has been sold to two families, and all three purchasers (that includes us!) are establishing small family farms. Hurray! Plus the Snider's old house and barn next door are being renovated by the new owners! Since 2013, we have brought in water and electricity to the land, built fences, a house and several barns. We have a flock of chickens, a bunch of loud, nosey Nubian dairy goats, 2 cats and 2 dogs. We farm organic vegetables, and have planted some fruit trees. We are committed to conservation of our land and the wildlife that call it home, and are working to restore our wildflower meadow (location of the campsite) to original prairie state. Come see us; we'd like to share it all with you! Learn more about this land: Come to Fieldsong Farm, absorb the peace and serenity, and leave refreshed! Stake your tent on the edge of our tallgrass wildflower meadow, and immerse yourself in diversity where the city ends and the country begins. Enjoy a fire in the fire ring from your seat on a "porch" swing as the sun goes down and the wildlife begin their nightly symphony. When the sun comes up, you'll have many choices to make--cycling, horseback riding, fishing, boating, paddling, hiking, running, strolling, visiting with the goats, cats and chickens, helping with farm chores, or just sitting to enjoy the peace and serenity of the farm.
