Walking through the park and the square is just magical at Christmastime. Easy Like a Sunday Morning is nestled just outside the city limits of Granbury, Texas (approximately 3 miles from Granbury Historic square) @ a private residence just outside the city limits. New laundry facility down the road, dump station @ Thorp Springs RV park (20 dollars), Davids Grocery store and Dollar General, all only .03 miles away. This is not really a vacation destination but more a safe place to stay coming to town to explore all Granbury has to offer or a place to catch your breathe while traveling on the road. Friends have enjoyed escaping here for years. I decided to share the zen. It's a bit rough around the edges but if the new venture succeeds it will only get better each time you visit. Patio with a view of Lake Granbury and surrounding valley of at least 3 counties. Communal: Bonfire area when there isn't a burn ban (bring your chair). Also small fire pit on patio. The Comanche were quite active up and down this part of the Brazos when the earliest settlers arrived around 1850, until the Comanches' eventual conquest by the Texas Rangers and their Colt pistols around 1870; we have found lots of flint and some arrowheads on high places here. Going further back in history, the Fuller's Folly River Ranch has an abundance of petrified wood, they say that if you have fossilized sea shells you were under water, but if you have petrified wood you had land creatures. Hunting for petrified wood is a fun adventure here. (But leave them for the next person to discover!) Weatherford is only 10 minutes away and Granbury is only 20 minutes away; both have great restaurants. And this close to Fort Worth (30min), you could actually commute and have a ranch to come home to at night--note the lower pricing mid week.

Weekend Trip to Little Off Lake House

I had a great time at the little off lake house with my dog. There was plenty of room for him to run and explore off leash. The lake and the boat were amazing too. Lots of privacy, but the host checked in on me to make sure I had everything I needed! The house itself did indeed have everything you could want. Thanks Kellie and Lindell for a great weekend and I hope to come back soon!

We had a wonderful stay at Friends in RV Spaces, definitelyexcellent value for money. Even though we were travelling in a campervan without hookups, the site had everything we needed. The facilities were clean and well maintained, and the WiFi near the little red building was fast and reliable. After spending time in the big cities of Texas, it was such a refreshing change to relax in a peaceful, green space with dark night skies and true country quiet. Sam greeted us on arrival and was very welcoming. He showed us around the farm and was interesting to chat with. If you’re looking for a safe, quiet, and friendly place to stay near Fort Worth, we’d highly recommend it.

The whole property is great to get away from everything. It was our first time camping with a travel trailer and Top of dam was a great location. Plenty of room, great scenery. We rode bikes on all the trails and all the sites were secluded and roomy. It was cold and windy but we made the most of it. We are planning on returning with a bigger group to enjoy it again and utilize more of the amenities.

Awesome little oasis! A quick weekend get away was not enough! Plus the restrooms were beautiful, clean and a great plus. We were what it seemed like away from it all but still had a cell signal. There was so much to do, trails, beautiful pond, horse shoe, geocache and more! 5/5 stars and more.

1 night at High Hope Ranch

I was welcomed by friendly goats and lil pig. Since, it was a thanksgiving day - I only saw three people in the area. Our tent was superb! Perfect spot for our camping but unfortunately we have to leave after 3 hours of stay coz my son has an anxiety attack. He just got tired from our previous camp (this is actually our second spot). I believe we need to come back here again soon and explore the area. The communication w the host was great. All the instructions were given clearly and the suggested trail to explore. We really need to come back here again soon.

It was wonderful. Very polite. Got to roam around the ranch saw a plethora of animals. Listening to the coyotes at sunrise and sunset. Watching the monarch butterflies fly through camp was magical. The ranch operator and his wife (I’m so sorry I forgot their names) were so polite and nice the doggo too!. They were able to help out with fire wood. Clean facilities, drinking water available. Just great.

Magnificent place! Secluded and quiet. Lots of trails to walk and find interesting things. Don’t be like me and forget to bring food and a way to cook it if there’s a burn ban because the stores are not exactly a 5 minute trip. We will be back without a doubt!

Weekend Trip to Lake Godstone™ Lodging and Camping

We had a great time as a group of two families staying at Lake Godstone- Top of the Dam camp spot. The kids LOVED fishing and catching baby frogs, us adults enjoyed the stargazing and hiking trails that are graveled and shaded which made trekking with littles easier. The Camp managers were very kind checking on us often helping with any items we needed- we absolutely loved how gracious and accommodating they were to our needs. (firewood, worms for fishing, even helped with an ant issue we were facing). The campsite was very rocky so if you book Top of the Dam make sure to bring a tarp for your tent protection and padding to sleep on. The only thing I would mention that we would have liked done better was the condition of the port-a-potty at our assigned campsite. To say the least it was not fit for human use. It was filled with maggots and when the wind caught it just right the stench swept over our camping site- so if you stay at the Top of the Dam be prepared to take a walk on the trails to reach the comfort station. we luckily packed a travel toilet for our littles, and it saved us for this trip. Also, a note, if you explore or book the treehouse location the stairs are very steep and narrow. we did not do our due diligence before letting our kiddos run up the stairs and on one's way down, she missed a narrow step and fell down the staircase. so please be careful if you choose that spot. Overall, we had a blast and will be back!
