A getaway tucked deep into 44 magical acres of rolling hills. 10 minutes outside of Center Point, Texas. Tucked into the top of a beautiful valley, where hills rule supreme! While on the property spend your time enjoying the rugged trails, bird watching, dark night skies, and the quiet. Don't forget to take advantage of our communal amenities including stock tank pools, sauna and hammock grove!
Currently we have 7 A-frame cabins, RV, Bell tent, RV hookup to rent as well as dispersed camping sites! If you're interested in booking the whole property for your group shoot us a message!

The Charmadillo is a great base to explore the area! About an hour from Lost Maples, Garner State Park and Enchanted Rock. About 35 minutes to Hill Country State Natural Area. Various access points to the Guadalupe river via Center Point and Kerrville. With the addition of wineries, honkytonks, and charming bars and restaurants throughout the region.

Had a perfectly peaceful getaway, honestly I’m kicking myself for not booking a longer stay! Perfect for star gazing, had everything we needed and more, the land is beautiful, and the sauna was an added bonus to these chillier nights. Really looking forward to coming back!!

Amazing.
That’s what you need to know about The Charmadillo. I’ve stayed in AirBnBs, state parks, RV parks, and primitive camping sites. This really does give you the best of all worlds. If you’re looking for a Texas Hill Country escape, and want to connect with nature, while combatting the TX heat with a/c to sleep in, and a good, clean shower, this is it.
The property is fantastic. Perfectly nestled into a hillside, you get great views, space to hike and explore, and a true feeling of being in nature.
The common areas are kept immaculately clean, especially with how off grid it feels. The decor and touches of comfort are tasteful and feel organic. Everything feels like it’s there to enhance your experience, not just look good in a picture.
Sarah, the host, is a great communicator and seems to really value her guests’ experience.
The location is easy to access, and it’s a short drive to Bandera or Kerrville, and a great home base for exploring the Hill Country.
I hadn’t touched Hipcamp in years after my previous experience, but Sarah is doing hospitality the right way.
*this probably reads like a paid review, or ‘friends & family’, but I assure it’s not. I just really enjoyed this place.

We loved camping on Sarah's land. We're already planning our next trip. The A-fames are great and the AC is necessary especially in the summer. We saw the milky way at night from our porch, we have never seen so many stars!! We made s'mores on the communal fire, and relaxed in the pool after our hike that day. The facilities were wonderfully well stocked and clean. Sarah's personal touch to make things as cozy as possible is evedent everywhere- eucalyptus hanging in the bathroom.
Our pup had a great time, he and I explored the property on a morning walk. Again- this is a very Serene property.
10/10 would return for a longer stay.
10/10 would recommend.

Unbelievably sweet experience. Host was caring and accommodating. The grounds were impeccably kept and stunning. The facilities were sparkling clean and beautifully crafted. Stayed in the RV since all of the A-frames were booked and it was equipped with everything I needed, including a little jackery so I was able to plug in and do some work. She really thought of everything. But I would say the best part was waking up to fresh complimentary (artisanal?!) pour over coffee and an outdoor shower. The bulletin board in the kitchen was also very informative about local happenings and things to do so I got the tip to stop at center provisions on my way out of town and stock up on treats! The only thing I would change is having been able to stay longer. Hope to be back. Really special

I can’t say enough good things! The coffee, the tea, the views, the robes, the cozy bed. There was nothing that wasn’t intentional and cared for about this stay. It’s private and remote, but well lit and simple to navigate. There’s much to do in the surrounding areas, such as great breakfast in Camp Verde and amazing steaks and specialty stores in Bandera, Texas Salt Co. was our favorite! I told about 5 people back home how awesome our stay at Charmadillo was, and I hope more people find this gem!
