We met Sam - he’s a great guy, very friendly and very accommodating. We only stayed the one night in our month long trip across America, but loved it. We arrived on Christmas Day and they took the time out their day to greet us and bring us homemade peanut brittle. The location is a quick drive to Fort Worth but was far enough out of town that we didn’t have to deal with Texas traffic with our camper. We can’t wait to come back!!

Lone Oak RV Retreat and Ranch is the cutest little community. Nestled in a serene setting, this hidden gem offers a peaceful escape for RVers and those who would prefer to stay in a guest house. One of the most endearing aspects of Lone Oak is its warm and welcoming atmosphere. The friendly staff and long-term RVers made it easy to feel right at home. For families with children, the on-site farm/petting zoo provides endless entertainment. There's also a pool for the warmer months. The Rodeo Cafe is open from 10 AM to 2 PM on Sundays and Mondays and offers a delicious lunch buffet. The 24-hour lounge is equipped with laundry machines, a TV, and a vending machine. The campground offers strong Wi-Fi and the well-maintained nature trails are great for peaceful walks. There are bonfire pits, basketball hoops, a beautiful old chapel, and tons of guest rooms available for affordable prices. Lots to see and explore on these 81 acres. Overall, Lone Oak RV Retreat and Ranch is a fantastic place to unwind and recharge outside the city. Where to go

Lake Lewisville

With 233 miles of shoreline, Lake Lewisville is one of the largest lakes in North Texas and a magnet for city-dwellers looking to cool off from the summer heat. Seven campgrounds dot the waterfront, and there are several boat launches and marinas from which to set sail. Sandy beaches and fishing are the main draws, but you can also explore the lakeside hiking and biking trails, rent a kayak or stand-up paddleboard, or play a game of golf with a view of the lake.

North Denton

North of Lake Lewisville, the Elm Fork Trinity River winds its way north through lush prairies and hardwood forests, forming a 20-mile Greenbelt Corridor between Lake Lewisville and Lake Ray Roberts. Escape the crowds to walk or bike through the Clear Creek wetlands, or head to the Ray Roberts State Park, where the highlights include boating, big-game fishing, and horseback trails. The state park also has several RV campgrounds and primitive camping sites.

East Dallas

On the eastern boundaries of Dallas, Lake Lavon and Lake Ray Hubbard are fringed by leafy parks and swimming beaches.
