Drive carefully on the dirt roads leading to the ranch; as deer are plentiful all around the property. Wildlife viewing is exceptional, with a wide range of animals typical of the rolling hills of Central Texas Hillcountry. The property has patches of open meadows speckled with hundreds of large, beautiful heritage trees including Live Oaks, Red Oaks, Cedar Elms, and Pecans. There are two small ponds on the property, with plenty of frogs and typical aquatic species providing a natural soundscape at night. Feel free to explore the site on foot or vehicles, but please keep vehicles only on existing dirt roads (no off-roading allowed). Feel free to use the RV hookup at the green metal building, and enjoy the stunning sunset views of the Texas Hillcountry from the elevated wooden deck connected to the building. My husband, dogs, and I stayed in The Hideout and it was the perfect cozy space with everything we needed. Communication was top notch and river access for fishing was a definite perk. We saw plenty of wildlife during our stay as well.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Wendy and Kevin. They are super nice people and came by as I was getting checked in to make sure I got settled. When I accidentally left something at my site, Wendy reached out to me and we were able to get my items back to me. I am looking forward to my next trip to the area and will definitely be staying there again. The facilities clean and well kept. The grounds were beautiful. I arrived in the dark and it was nice to make up to the rolling, tree-covered hills.

The setup was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed for a camping trip without the hassle of packing heavy gear. Wonderful camping spot near Hamilton. Showers and bathrooms were very clean. There’s even an indoor area to cook and relax. We were very happy here especially since it was so hot out. The tent sites were very leveled and clean. It had a picnic table and a fire pit and grill. Wendy was also a great hosts. I would recommend this place.

Lost horizon was a great experience for us. I’m in my 40’s and we enjoy camping but I am not into communal living or multiple units close together. This offered the seclusion we wanted and a fair price. You will need a 4x4 vehicle or at least a full size suv to get down the last stretch of road to the sites. Everything else is just as noted on the site and within the website for the property. Don’t hesitate to book!

The site was in a great location! Very convenient to hwy 36 and the amenities in Hamilton. The campsite was peaceful and well maintained. Lots of room, great hook ups and WiFi. Bathrooms, showers and common areas were clean and spacious! There’s a full kitchen-even a keurig and pods-along with ac, which was great! Free laundry facilities was also a great perk! Wendy was very friendly and easy to communicate with too, We’ll definitely visit again if we’re in the area!

Alexander Creek RV park is a quiet place to stay. The roaming cattle were a refreshing taste of country living. There is a nicely done club house with clean bathrooms and showers. Currently there is not a fire pit or grill at each site but Wendy was quickly accommodating with bringing a grill over for my use. I would stay here again if my travels bring me back this way.

This campsite was great amongst the trees. Loved the roaming livestock farm a neighboring ranch, making even more fun. Wendy greeted us just as we had just pulled into the spot making sure all was okay. Close to Glen Rose and Hico, both places we visited for golf and friends. Nice to come back to a quiet spot.

I loved staying at this site. The glamp site is well equipped with everything that you need, and the guidebook is amazing at making sure you are aware of directions and information. Would stay here again!
