The sites overlook the beautiful Canadian River breaks to the north with wide open skies to the west and east to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets. These are rustic sites with no improvements. We are just getting started with this so you’ll be able to help us from the ground up. If we are not in a burn ban you’re welcome to have a campfire. There will be opportunities to call up a wild coyote or watch some mule deer or an occasional antelope stroll by. You could even be awakened by the horses on their way to water in the morning and we can set up some horse riding if we have enough notice to schedule time off from the 9-5 haha. Can’t wait to see you on the prairie!

Enjoy our peaceful location, alpacas, beautiful sunsets and stunning night skies. Over 30 friendly alpacas are waiting to meet you - well maybe we have one grumpy one! The road to our farm is paved. Our driveway is crushed caliche rock. Our gateway is 17 feet wide. For longer vehicles we suggest entering from the north end of our road as the turn will be less tight. Once on the farm there is plenty of space for you to drive your RV to turn it around along with a flat pull through field area to camp on.
We are just minutes off Highway 60/84, about 6 miles from the center of Clovis and 7 miles from Cannon Air Force Base. Check out the Rock and Roll Museum in Clovis or the Blackwater Draw Museum in Portales.
IMPORTANT NOTE RE GETTING GOOD DIRECTIONS TO OUR FARM: Our address confuses GPS systems and apps resulting in people getting sent to the wrong place (and the wrong place varies depending on which GPS system or app you are using). We strongly recommend that you go to Google Maps and put in our farm name Windrush Alpacas and get directions to our farm using our farm name. If you want to get good directions and not get stuck trying to turn around in an unknown location, we suggest you follow our advice!
This is basic camping (no hookups, water or onsite showers or toilets) but how often do you get to camp with alpacas nearby! Our horse Sabre, barn cat Brutus and other animals will be happy to meet you too.
Please note the reservation is only for the people who have reserved the site, please do not invite other people to join you. In the interest of maintaining the quiet of the farm for other guests, our animals and ourselves no large crowds or parties please! Excessive noise, drinking or any drugs will not be tolerated and will result in you being asked to leave.
Pets (well behaved and on leash) are welcome we just ask that you respect the other animals on the property and don’t allow your pet to get to close to them if they seem upset. We do have two dogs of our own on the property but they will be either in the house or back yard during your stay. Please pick up after you pet and be prepared to take pet waste and trash with you.
Children are welcome at the farm but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. We have a variety of equipment on the farm as well as the animals and we don’t want anyone getting hurt. Please understand that we are not here to occupy or babysit your children (hate to have to say that but unfortunately some people think we are!)
While you will be able to see the alpacas in their pens, please do not open gates or enter the pens unless we are with you and tell you that you can do so. We have free range chickens and guinea fowl that might be right outside your door when you go outside, so please bear that in mind.
We are very dry and very low on water in this area so while propane grills are okay, we unfortunately cannot allow any campfires or other naked flame setups. No dumping ash or cigarette butts on the ground please, we don’t want a fire! We also request that you don’t dump any fluids from your RV on the ground.
Quiet hours (no generators) are from 10 p.m. to 6 p.m. Please treat our property with respect and be mindful of other guests who are staying at the farm. This is a location that people visit for the peace and serenity and we want to be able to continue to share the farm with other guests
We have a small gift shop featuring alpaca related products and products made from alpaca fleece (socks, hats, gloves, scarves, rugs, yarn etc, - if you haven't tried alpaca socks for hiking or camping you don't know what you are missing!) We also have farm fresh eggs and local raw honey for sale when the chickens are laying and our friend’s bees are producing. Just let us know if you are interested in visiting the gift shop and we will coordinate a time for you to do so.
We have hosted many RV guests over the years and love to meet people. Many of our guest comment on how well they sleep at the farm. If you are at all unsure about anything concerning your stay please contact us in advance so we can put your mind to rest. We want your visit to the farm to be relaxing, restful and enjoyable. We look forward to meeting you!

We are a brand new tent, RV/Campervan/Car boondocking (no hookups) campsite located in a beautiful country setting, while still having fast and easy access on and off Highway 60/I-27. Perfect home base for your Palo Duro Canyon State Park vacation or while visiting the nearby cities of Canyon, Amarillo or Hereford, TX that are just minutes away. It's also great for a convenient, overnight stay en route to your ultimate destination.
Private camping toilet is provided inside of a small building and conveniently close to the outdoor water spigot. Free high-speed Wi-Fi in common areas and dog park are also included.
Large (32 ft X 24ft) tent sites with picnic tables, in the designated campsites, provide plenty of room for even the largest tent(s) and camping equipment. Our back-in RV, Campervan/Car parking sites with picnic tables are 40 ft long to allow parking without having to disconnect most tow vehicles. At this time, there are no electricity, water or sewer hookups at the individual campsites.

I enjoyed a lovely evening at the farm. Ironically there was another gal traveling in her VW bus and the conversation flowed easily as we watched a peaceful sunset.
Rosemary was incredibly kind and let me grill her a little about the farm, I was appreciative of her time and answers. She later brought a little bag of alpaca snacks as well as delicious cookies for me. 💗
I felt welcomed and safe to be in their little homestead. Highly recommend!

Plenty of level space to camp among the critters with these wonderful, welcoming hosts. We loved the shop with alpaca goods. But we especially loved being included in a "chore" session where we learned more about alpacas, birds, and life in New Mexico. We felt very safe here and slept very well with the soothing sounds of birds. Very easy to get to and convenient on our path.

Great spot for my VW Bus the camp out while in town. Nice view to wake up to in the morning. Great wifi. Great spots. Nothing fancy easy going. Toilet is a camp toilet with bag just FYI. But we had our own Composting toilet so no worries. Definitely worth the stop

The camping experience at Silo’s without a doubt, was one of the best through Hipcamp. I loved the spot we got as it had really great sunrise views. All the travel hangover we had from the previous night was gone with that beautiful sunrise. The campground is well equipped with hook ups, clean restrooms and impeccable views. I would camp here again.

Great little spot for a quick overnight on a cross-country trip. Arrived in rain, so we were able to use their gravel pad. The owner even had a double reservation at another site if it didn't work for us. Restroom was clean. Dog park was awesome. We appreciated their quick comms and exceptionally well maintained site.

The campground is very well kept and it is a smaller campground with about eight RV sites. They have a really nice laundromat on site. The bathrooms are awesome. I felt safe there. I was a little bit nervous because a tornado warning came up even though it was 9 PM I was reassured that they would let us know if it was time to go in the shelter. After I fell asleep I received a message saying the warning was over. The host on site was awesome too. I really wish we could of stay longer but something came up and we had to get home. Thank you, Brady for all your help.

The campground was plenty large for a class, a motorhome with plenty of room to turn around. The ground was very flat. The spot was close enough to Palo Verde Canyon and was very reasonably priced. It was a lot easier camping there than trying to drag a vehicle behind the motorhome into the canyon. Bruce was very hospitable and attended to our needs. He also gave us several suggestions on where to eat around town and want to see. We would highly recommend this campsite.
