Weekend Trip to Mockingbird Farms

Mockingbird Farms is beautiful, safe, and serene. We had everything we needed in the bunkhouse for “glamping,” but I think tent camping here would also be a great experience. The farm has donkeys, horses, and goats — they are all super gentle and love people, and the host gave us animal crackers to feed them! Everything was very comfortable — plenty of hot water in the outdoor shower, AC unit in the bunkhouse, super comfortable bed. The host Cait was great to communicate with before the trip, and we got to visit with her for a bit on the property, she is so nice! Quick, easy access to the nearby towns (Somerset and Poteet) for meals and gas / dollar stores if you forgot to pack something. I believe this property would be very safe for solo campers, as well. I can’t recommend Mockingbird Farms enough — we’ll definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to River Grove Retreat

We had a great time camping 1 night at this property - river access was really easy, there was plenty of flat land to pitch a ditch, and the kitchen amenities were helpful. Highly recommend!

1 night at Mockingbird Farms

Where to start with mockingbird farms? Let's start with the vibes... IMMACULATE! We arrived shortly after 11 and were greeted by the group of goat ambassadors we pulled onto the land and my god is it beautiful! Gorgeous land with wonderful shade trees. The powder room is by far the nicest and best put together in any hip camp we've been to, the outside shower and tub area was like a small slice of shangri la. All the animals were curious and sweet making the stay that much better! We only stayed one night but it was the most relaxed and comfortable my wife and I have been for months we can not wait to stay again!! Thank you Cait for your hospitality and for sharing your beautiful land with us.

4 nights at Mockingbird Farms

The Boo Radley Bunkhouse is so lovely, you can't call it camping! I would classify the experience as glamping++. Cait was the ideal host and took time to familiarize me with the area and what to expect over the phone before I arrived. The property is absolutely beautiful with happy animals to eat all of the (approved) goodies you can feed them. I brought my dog and she had the time of her life watching the horses, goats, and donkeys and running free which is rare, as she is a city doggo. We both slept very, very well. The outdoor shower and bath are something everyone should experience, if they enjoy a touch of luxury with their bucolic experience, of course. I could have spent hours enjoying that space. Thank you for a fabulous and peaceful escape, Cait. I'll be spreading the word and can't wait for another trip to your farm!

Annette and Roberts RV was a great stay. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We were able to reserve with short notice and they were very kind and hospitable. Annette was responsive with messages if we needed anything and had great recommendations for what to do in the area.

Weekend Trip to Mockingbird Farms

Mockingbird Farm was the perfect adventure for our family! My little girls (4 and 18m) were delighted to feed and pet the friendly animals. The fire pit and circle made campfire cooking and lounging easy and fun, the charming cabin was cozy. Every convenience was taken care of to make this family trip easy and stress free. Cait was awesome and we had the place to ourselves. Wonderful memories were made and we can’t wait to go back!

Very precious place, in terms of animal and nature. The host is certainly one of the most considerate people. If you expect luxury glamping place, this may not be the type. But if you want to become part of nature in its native instinct, this shall be the right one. Surprisingly, the shower place is one of the coziest and beautifully designed using nature! Like Eden paradise. Will be back in strawberry season^^

We are situated in South Canyon Lake, known for its crystal blue waters. The space This listing is for both campers The cactus camper has a dinette and two couches that convert into a small double bed and two twins. It also has a bunk available for maximum two kids 140lb weight limit. The camper includes a full bathroom with a shower and toilet. Keep in mind, these are small spaces and may be challenging for some people. The height of the camper is 6' 2 1/2" and the length of the bed is 6'. The small double can sleep two people who are not afraid to be close. The bamboo bunk has a dinette and couch that converts either into a small double bed and a single or a large king-size bed. It has a canvas bunk available for a maximum of two kids with a 140lb weight limit. The camper includes a full bathroom with a shower and toilet. Keep in mind, these are small spaces and may be challenging for some people. The height of the camper is 6'1 1/2" and the length of the beds is 6'. The small double can sleep two people who are not afraid to be close. You will have access to a garden with a fountain, chimeneas, grill, seating, and lights. There is ample parking space. We are close to a major road so there will be traffic sounds and our home is located on the same property within view with a shared driveway. Set at the back of our 5 acre property, there are 2 RV sites that include water and 50 amp service. Septic available as well. Plenty of space to stretch your legs and stay a while. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. Pets that are self contained to your RV welcome. Dogs welcome if kept on a leash at all times. (We require this because we have free range chickens and turkeys, as well as pigs, horses, and our own dogs). We have a 2BR/1BA guesthouse that is fully furnished if your RV has to go in the shop or you have family that wants to visit. It has a king bed, queen bed, and sleeper sofa in the living room. Handicap accessible walk in shower. -------------------------------------------------------- We are located just to the east of San Antonio in Adkins. Just 14 miles to Randolph AFB, and 17 miles to Ft Sam Houston. Great spot for military PCS, TDY, and PIT! We live on site with our 4 children (and a gaggle of animals). We are both Air Force Veterans. After leaving active duty, we traveled the country full time from 2017-2021 in our RV with our kids.
