If an area isn’t open don’t attempt to use for your own safety. You can gather firewood from branches or trees that are laying around the property. Please do not cut or harm any trees. Because this is a primitive camping site there is no water or electricity. Make sure you bring your own drinking water or water for any personal use. Compost Bathrooms will have some water for showering but if this runs out you will have to provide your own, these bathrooms are covered with 3 walls but are pretty private a few feet away from the campsites. There is a pond towards the back of the property. This is collected rain water and it just sits there, there are small fishes in there but we suggest no swimming as it can have bacteria. We usually walk around it with rain boots. By the pond you will be able to see lots of beautiful birds while relaxing in the various chairs provided as well as a swing. Trash bins are not provided so please carry out your trash. Please help us to maintain our land clean. Since there is so many acres we are still in the process of cleaning out what the other owners left behind. We do have neighbors so please be mindful. Cows also roam around the property but are separated by a fence but you do hear them once in a while and sometimes you can see them up close. These cows do not belong to us so please let them be. A train passes near by too so keep that in mind. Any other questions you may have feel free to message me and I will respond as soon as possible. There is phone reception in this area so you don’t have to worry about losing cellphone service. *if you are bringing any pets keep in mind that if you wish to keep them off leash we are not responsible for any harm. Quiet natural location away from the busy city. Located on a private access uneven dirt road so a 4x4 or all wheel drive vehicle is recommended. There is a firepit but please burn inside the cinder blocks area and keep it under control (not too big). Do not burn when it is windy. There is plenty of firewood to use for the fire pit. Please make sure to completely put fire out when done. There are 6 acres and you are welcome to camp anywhere you like, in the open areas or in the woody areas in the back. We have a RV barn area that can be used for shade, sitting, eating, relaxing, etc. You can use the tables and chairs. There is also a white water container on the table that you can use for washing. There is a 32 gallon trash bucket that you can put trash in but make sure lid is closed when you're done to keep animals out. This site does have limited solar electric power in RV area. To turn on, flip the switch on the surge strip on the wall behind the microwave. There is no running water so please plan accordingly. There is currently not a toilet available but I'm planning on building a composting toilet soon. For now, use the natural way and make sure to bury. For security, there is one camera on the property located near the front entrance and it is mainly for monitoring the front entrance area. There is also another camera near the north side of RV barn for security of storage room and RV. This site can also be used for long term parking/storing your RV or vehicle but we are not liable for anything that happens. If interested, please contact me or use the app called "Neighbor". The RV barn currently already has a RV inside it so that parking space can't be used. Our long-term plan is to also make the RV available but we would need to install an in ground septic system and electricity first.

Many species of birds and wildlife make their home here, including white-tailed deer, feral hogs, fox, coyote, bobcat, raccoon, rabbit and various waterfowl. Love to fish! Two docks available for fishing and kayaking. Just cast a line for crappie, bass and catfish and cook fresh at your campsite. Socialize with your friends and family in the evenings around campfires while roasting marshmallows and toasting your favorite beverages. Music allowed at sites and around property, however we ask guests to be respectful of other campers and limit noise after 10:00 p.m. What if you forget something? Don't worry, it's about a mile to the nearest little country grocery store and restaurant called "Grand Pops". They serve up some great hamburgers and other home-style meals. Most people have "Hot Spots" on their phones these days. Don't let all the "whats and ifs" deter you. With a little bit of planning, a healthy dose of the adventurous spirit, your camping will make you crave more. Here's some items to think about: Water, toiletries, privacy tents, fire starters, cooking utensils, pots and pans, stove, fuel, utensils, first-aid kit, sunscreen, bug spray, sleeping bag, pillow, backpack, chairs, ice chest, trash bags. We ask that you please haul off your own trash. *Explore the surrounding nature, build campfires, watch wildlife and enjoy a rejuvenating hike amidst the picturesque landscape. RELAX AT CAMP JOY! ENJOY THE GREAT OUTDOORS! Camp Joy offers guests two docks available to use for fishing, lounging, getting in and out of kayaks on the property. The one shown was built as handicap accessible. This small lake is one of three lakes in the area called "Cade Lakes". Great for catching crappie, bass and catfish. Kids enjoy watching the turtles push each other off the logs seen around the banks. If you love to fish, the greatest fishing lake in Texas is a few miles away near Somerville, TX called "Lake Somerville". It's a scenic drive to the Overlook Marina and Lake Somerville Dam. Several State Parks surround Lake Somerville, the closest from this location is "Birch Creek State Park" with beautiful hiking trails. Highly recommend the drive to check the Parks out. Also recommend visiting "Washington on the Brazos", the birthplace of Texas and is where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed. It is also a State Park. The "Aggieland Wild Animal Safari" is outside of Bryan College Station and is a great place to take the kids to interact with all kinds of animals. Offers a drive-thru in which you can drive thru as many times as you want, as well as a petting zoo and gift shop. And, if you like shopping, there are lots of antique shops and wineries at Round Top, another scenic drive about 45 minutes away. And all the ice cream lovers must visit the home of "Blue Bell" in Brenham, TX which is only open to the public during the weekdays, not weekends. While in Brenham, kids love to skate at the historic "Silver Wings Ballroom", known as one of the best skating rinks in Texas! Check for local events happening all around such as Aggie Football Games, Snook ChiliFest, Market Days on the Square in Caldwell and much, much more!

My seven year old made friends with the owners white dog and gave him a huge hug. We went canoeing on the lake but left early because of the rain. We did have a wonderful camp fire and made s'mores the first night. Before we left my little one said this was the best camping trip ever and the best day in his life. This is not our first camping trip, but this place is his favorite place to go camping.

My family and all the friends we have taken to 5D ranch over the years all love it there. Site 23 is perfectly secluded from other sites with a gentle slope throughout, but 2 large tents fit on a reasonably level area. Trees provide excellent shade and wind break. The host family is amazing. We had a great time meeting other campers, and of course the resident dogs - they are very gentle and passive.

If you’re looking for a relaxing adventure with all the comforts of home, this is the perfect stay. The host was amazing—friendly, helpful, and incredibly quick to respond to any questions we had. We brought our RV and were able to camp right alongside my sister, who rented the Airstream for Thanksgiving, which made the experience even more special. The property itself was beautiful. We spent our days exploring the trails and enjoying the local wildlife, and our evenings were filled with cozy campfire vibes and plenty of s’mores. It was the ideal blend of comfort and outdoor fun. We can’t recommend this stay enough and can’t wait to come back!

Loved Site 6! Right at the edge of the wood, under the trees, yet perfectly positioned to see the pasture and the stars. Beautiful night sky, beautiful time, beautiful property. Also quite peaceful and quiet. Pleasant trails. I will absolutely be back.

I stayed at campsite #24, and for me and my dog, it was perfect—very secluded and calm. I will definitely stay again! A few tips for future campers: First, there is a small downhill slope to get to the site, so drive carefully (my Toyota Tacoma handled it fine, just take it slow). Second, cell service was limited to voice and text (data was choppy with TMobile and Verizon). Finally, Julie is a fantastic host who answers calls immediately. Thanks again, Julie!"

We had such a great time camping on Terrys land. Plenty of space and he even leaves firewood on your site for you. There is also a clean bathroom and a shower with hot water. It’s also right next to the lonestar trail. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you Terry!

Julie‘s ranch was a truly restful haven for us. We actually came to watch the blues Festival in Navasota, but ended up just hanging out at the ranch listening to the coyotes and owls and relaxing by a fire. Communication was really good, and Julie met us at the check-in with a friendly smile and gracious hospitality. We did end up having a visit from their ranch dog, which was a ton of fun! I can highly recommend a visit here.
